  • “Considerate, friendly hosts left a tea making tray and fresh milk for our arrival.”

Accommodation was spacious, spotless and well equipped with the most fantastic view from the breakfast bar in the kitchen. Own entrance and parking space. Good pub, village shop, butchers, fish & chip shop and bus stop a quarter of a mile away, downhill going but all up hill on the way back.

The property

A modern and spacious, ground floor annexe apartment, next door to the owners' home in the quiet Cornish village of Tywardreath.

Ideal for couples and small families, this Tywardreath apartment has a king-size double bedroom, a stylish shower room and a large sitting room with dining area which overlooks your own private front garden.

The fitted kitchen has lovely views across the village and it opens onto the small, sunny patio garden at the rear of the apartment that is next door to the owners' garden but fenced for privacy, and benefits from some garden furniture, making it the ideal setting for lazy afternoons.

The village of Tywardreath, with shops and pubs, is just a five minute walk away and the sandy beach at Par is a mile from this Tywardreath holiday apartment.

There is a fabulous walk to Polkerris Beach from here, and for keen hikers, the coastal walk around Gribbin Head and on into Fowey, passes some spectacular coastline and wonderful, secluded coves and beaches.

Guests can also visit the world-famous Eden Project which is just three miles away.

This Tywardreath holiday apartment is an excellent base for a walking holiday or a relaxing break not far from the sea.

About the location

TYWARDREATH

Fowey 3.3 miles; St Austell 6.3 miles.

The pretty, historic Cornish village of Tywardreath, meaning ‘The House on the Strand’, lies in the heart of Daphne du Maurier country and features in her book of the same name. St Andrew’s, the village church, is said to have the best peal of bells in the area, while the village has a lively community, centred round its excellent pubs and range of shops. There are several safe, sandy beaches close to the village, with a variety of watersports and leisure activities available. Par, a small, china clay port with a dog friendly sandy beach is a fifteen minute walk from the village or 5 minutes in the car, home to a main line railway station. Polkerris Beach, a 30 minute walk or a 5 minute drive away, has a beachside restaurant, pub and watersports centre. The attractive waterside village of Fowey is just three miles away, from where there are some dramatic cliff walks to Gribbin Head, passing through much of du Maurier’s familiar landscape. There are many family attractions in the area, including Mevagissey and Charlestown harbours, the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan. Tywardreath is a village that will appeal to families and those keen to explore the rich heritage and gorgeous coastline of South Cornwall.
