The lodge is ideally placed for walking and the views are stunning, fortunately the weather was very good except for the final day. The lodge is comfortable and the rooms are spacious. This being the case there are a couple of niggles that we found spoilt things a bit. As has been noted in other reviews the basin in the bathroom is very small and the tap is totally unsuitable. It is quite stiff to turn on and the flow has to be regulated carefully or water sprays onto the floor, or in most cases down your trouser leg, especially if the toilet has just been flushed and takes some of the water supply. A couple of normal dining chairs would be better than the small table with stools, this type of table is ideal if the space is at a premium but this is not the case here. We like to sit over breakfast and the stools soon became very uncomfortable.

The property

Bude 1 mile.

Absolutely perfect for couples looking for a walking or a beach holiday this spacious apartment which adjoins the owners’ holiday home is directly opposite the coastal path on the beautiful coast road linking the award-winning coastal resort of Bude.

Arriving along this coast road you will get your first impression of the stunning coastline that you will get to know and love throughout your stay.

With a spacious open plan living area and particularly large bedroom you will have plenty of room to relax here with old fireplaces adding to the character.

Outside you have a picnic bench to enjoy breakfast or a drink on returning home after a day on the beach or walking the stunning coastal path.

Walkers really are spoilt for choice here with wonderful walks in either direction.

For a summer evening choose between the beautiful walk to Widemouth Bay and enjoy an excellent Italian meal at Elements restaurant or stroll in the opposite direction along the coastal path to Bude where a choice of restaurants, bars and bistros will offer something for everyone.

The choice of beaches within such a short radius is most impressive whether for sunbathing or surfing and with the coast and beaches being that much quieter out of the summer season.

Widemouth Beach is popular with surfers, and is dog-friendly all year round as is Summerleaze.

Seaview Lodge offers comfortable accommodation whenever you choose to stay.

About the location

Tintagel 17 miles.

Bude is a fabulous coastal town that once visited you will want to come back to time and time again. Bude has something for everyone, great beaches for relaxing, and building sandcastles on, rockpools for investigating at low tide and cafes to watch it all from. The rolling waves are great for surfing all year round, and the footpaths by the restored canal or on the North Cornwall coastal path offer you a superb opportunity to explore and appreciate the outstanding countryside. Bude also has a superb golf course, indoor swimming pool, bowling alley/indoor play area and Heritage Centre at Bude Castle. It also has a good selection of local shops, supermarkets, cafes, pubs, restaurants and excellent Information Centre. Within a short drive are the remains of a huge iron age hill fort at Warbstow Bury, from where panoramic views can be seen. For days out, take the coast road north to see the lonely lighthouse above the sea at Hartland Point or walk or ride a donkey down the steep and cobbled village street (no cars allowed) of beautiful Clovelly to the harbour and the pub far below. Follow the coast in the other direction and there's the little cove of Crackington Haven, Boscastle, King Arthur's castle at Tintagel, Doc Martin's Port Wenn at Port Isaac and yet more great surfing beaches at Polzeath.

Note: Adults only, no children.
