  • "We had fabulous holiday at Ash cottage, the location is lovely with great views."

The cottage was spotless with everything you could need. We were greeted by Phil on arrival. There are plenty of beaches close by and easy access to the larger resorts. We throughly enjoy our time at Ash cottage and would definitely recommend to friends.

Good location and peaceful grounds. The hosts were very attentive and resolved a leak we discovered, very quickly and with no fuss.

  • "We had a lovely stay at Ash cottage and for a change the weather in Cornwall stayed dry for almost the whole week!"

The host Phil was very welcoming and his communications prior to the visit were very good. The cottage is in a good location for touring the area although the nearest pub, The Crown at St. Ewe is only 1.6 miles away (not the Kings Arms in Tregony that you say is the nearest and is 3 miles away) but is a good trek along narrow lanes with some steep climbs! Still the food was excellent and the staff very good. The cottage was well decorated with nice views over fields which is helped by the reverse build whereby the kitchen and lounge is on the first floor. The comments below may seem “picky” but as seasoned holidaymakers staying in cottages a few times a year we think they should be addressed. We were very surprised that there was no welcome file with instructions on local amenities, recommended eating places, bus timetables, maps, contact numbers for vets, out of hours doctors etc. we’ve never stayed in a cottage that didn’t have this information. I found a plastic bag in a kitchen drawer with appliance instructions but there was nothing for the dishwasher (it wasn’t that difficult to operate but some people would struggle). There weren’t any dishwasher tablets (very unusual) and when I asked, I was told there wouldn’t be any supplied unless the previous visitors had left any! Also, and this was annoying, there was only one pedal bin bag and that was in the pedal bin. We always take a roll just in case but as the bin was quite large they didn’t fit very well and I was not going to buy a roll for something that I wouldn’t use again. The kitchen was generally well stocked but some scissors would have been useful for opening food packages etc. and another medium sized pan (preferably non-stick) would have been good as there was only a very small pan and two much larger pans available. We couldn’t find the iron (the ironing board was in the cupboard below stairs) but on the last day we discovered it in the cupboard above the cooker. I must also pass comment on the sliding door to the main bedroom en-suite, it was suspended on a horizontal rail and was very difficult to operate, my wife is no weakling and she couldn’t operate it at all! Finally, the garden had a wooden bench and picnic table but the latter had never been treated so the wood was very rough and you would not want to sit on it in good clothes. Overall the above didn’t spoil our enjoyment of the cottage but if it wasn’t for these I would have given it 5 stars.

  • "On booking the cottage we were excited by the prospect of staying in such a lovely place but we were also prepared to be disappointed."

However the reality was that cottage was fabulous and actually delivered more than our imaginings. I particularly loved that the living spaces were upstairs, with views over the valley. The double height entrance hall added to its luxury and roominess. With regards to the furniture fittings, I kept trying to think of things that were missing from the place but it seemed to have everything, down to a food-mixer and all the things you might want if making a cake! A bathroom and room. A shower with power and instant hot water. The place was very warm, incredibly well insulated and a great place to be in all seasons. We would of loved to have stayed longer, the holiday flew by all too quickly...due greatly, I believe to the cottage being so comfortable.

  • "This holiday complex is an excellent base to visit the beautiful county of Cornwall."

Our cottage was very clean with excellent amenities to suit all ages and its well maintained gardens were a great area to walk in and relax at the end of our touring days around the Cornish resort sites. The owner Phil could not be more helpful and the facilities in the cottage were first class. We would highly recommend this facility to friends and family for future vacations in Cornwall.

  • "The cottage was exactly as described and proved very clean, warm and comfortable for our party of 6."

We enjoyed the peace and quiet, the fishing lake, the view of sunsets and the lambs playing from the living area. The 360 degree views from the site are lovely and the cottage is well placed to explore the coast path and the Roseland generally, which is what we did most days. Thank you for a friendly and inobtrusive welcome.
