  • "Not entirely dog friendly."

Nowhere for toilet had to walk down road to nearest grass, not funny at 3am in morning. No recycling facilities Bed too soft Duvet- 13.5tog in June-far too hot. Use lesser tog duvet with the blanket. Need some blackout curtains, woken up at sunrise with light coming in. No end of journey how to find property directions-perhaps footnote as satellite doesn't pick up address-as advised in notes. Should say- go to St Issey Church on your left. Either turn right at Ring o Bells pub and immediately right into properties or next right after ring o bells and then right into properties after No entry sign. We ended up knocking on a private house for directions. Ask council to put road name sign up so this doesn't keep happening. House owner very fed up of people asking directions. Tell holiday makers they are staying on a building site!!! Only view is of next door neighbours less than 10 feet away in front and to the side. On a plus side...any problems we had were sorted almost immediately and to a good standard Thank you Some Maids.

  • "Great location, lovely apartment."

Could do with a king size bed in the master. Bedroom curtains could be black out as let’s in a lot of light in the morning. More than one toilet roll (and used so not a full roll) would of been nice for a 4 person arriving after 5pm to then need to go out again.

A local information book would have been helpful.

  • "A wonderful place to stay close to Padstow."

We had some dreadful wet weather and a relief to have a comfortable well appointed place to come back to. All new. Warm, great shower and large tv were welcome . Just needed a few extra plates and larger mugs!!

  • "We really enjoyed our week away in your cottage they are lovely and homely."

The only small thing was the airer was broken and so we struggled to get it to stand up to dry the washing, also the chap in the opposite cottage kept parking his car by our bathroom window which was awkward at times maybe that space could be reserved for owl so you don’t have the embarrassment when opening the window

  • "The apartment was lovely, comfortable and fresh, and well located to travel to various beaches nearby."

We ate at the Pickwick Arms which was a short walk away. More crockery is needed please, 4 mugs but 12 wine glasses?

  • "Whilst the accommodation is lovely, St Issey itself has very little to offer, not even a shop for bread or milk."

    Wouldn't stay there again sadly.

  • "We had a wonderful stay in Owl."

The facilities were clean and comfortable with thoughtful necessities provided; tea, milk, hand soap. It was very peaceful and well situated with an excellent wi-fi connection! A couple of suggestions - Ice cube trays would be useful, and perhaps a few more plates etc? (Whilst having a dishwasher is handy, we could never really fill it enough to use it!) Also information on the nearest recycling facilities.

  • "Owl is a very modern apartment, as these are quite new everything is lovely, sparkling kitchen, great huge walk in shower, very nicely furnished, two bedrooms, twin & double and large lounge/dining area."

There was a small outdoor area with seat and table bench (it’s not enclosed or private), parking space outside apartment. We were on the ground floor as have a dog, the apartment above us had a child that seemed to jump around a lot on the thin ceiling, we had to ask them to stop him doing this. When we arrived the owner Richard was there as he lives in the village, lovely friendly man showed us into apartment. There was milk in the fridge for us and some cookies which was lovely. The apartment needs to have more crockery as there was only 4 dinner plates, 4 cereal bowls and 4 side plates, which isn’t enough if you have breakfast and cook dinner there. Also needs some serving dishes and smaller dishes for nuts/olives etc. There was no hand towels in the twin room only bath towels, so probably housekeeping forgot to put them in. Also the apartment has under floor heating throughout which was hard to control and seemed to get too warm at night, we couldn’t find any instructions on how to alter it. St Issey is quite a small village surrounded by fields, not a great base if you like walking or want to walk into other villages. The pub was closed (due to COVID), but there was another pub which you could walk to called Pickwicks which had a very large garden and was open for food/drinks. It’s a good base if you don’t mind driving everywhere.

  • "Our accommodation was absolutely brilliant."

Very comfortable, very clean, everything is thought of and the decor is a done to a very high standard. We will definitely be recommending this place and will be back again when visiting Cornwall. Met the owner Richard who is a lovey gentleman. Couldn’t do enough for you even though nothing more was needed. All credit to him and his team! See you again soon. Hazel Perkins
