    Mrs Furlonger

“It is always good to have a downstairs toilet rather than running up and down the stairs every time nature calls which is what we had to do, as we live in a bungalow, took a while to adjust.”

Also, one of our dogs likes to wander and there are steps down from the garden he likes to explore and we couldn't relax fully because he is inclined to take himself off and had to watch him carefully (he is also hard of hearing so called him back many times very loudly) these are the only negative comments and does not take away from the peaceful, lovely setting of Pandia and the comfort and homeliness of the inside. Have stayed twice now and would definitely make it a third.

The property

Wonderful for children and four-legged friends as well as couples looking for a quiet time, Pandia is a detached cottage full of character set amongst three acres of stunning gardens and beech woodland. Pandia is ideally situated for visiting the beautiful sandy beaches, surfing and cliffs of the North Coast and the delightful fishing villages and exotic gardens of the South Coast. Peace is guaranteed at this lovely 'cottage in the woods'.

You have your own private lawn with garden furniture, and gorgeous gardens and woods to explore.

Pandia is a former coach house built in 1705.

It oozes character throughout with its huge doors, exposed 16th century beams, and beautiful paintings and pottery by Cornish artists and artisans.

You enter the cottage into the open plan living room and kitchen, dining and sitting areas.

A welcoming open log fire adds to the romantic atmosphere. There are three bedrooms: a single, twin, and a double.

All rooms overlook the lawns, gardens and fields, and the double room has a lovely lancet window as well. Pandia is set in an Area Of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Locally, there's lots to do with moorland and woodland walks right on the doorstep, magnificent gardens, the Camel Trail for walking and cycling, horse-riding, wonderful grand houses and fascinating archaeology all nearby.

About the location

BODMIN MOOR

Bodmin 7 miles; Launceston 14 miles

The vast and rugged Bodmin Moor, designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, forms over 150 square miles of striking, rocky landscape, with much of it declared a Site of Specific Scientific Importance. This ancient location is home to mystical standing stones, old buildings dating from medieval times and thousands of years’ worth of tin mining heritage. There are plenty of beautiful walks to discover, with challenging climbs up some of the tallest spots in Cornwall, offering fantastic far-reaching views towards both the north and south coast on fine days. The nearby town of Launceston, fondly thought of as the Gateway to Cornwall, can be found to the north east, with beautiful Georgian buildings set around its central square, and romantic ruins of a Norman castle at the outskirts. In the other direction, the historic town of Bodmin lies to the south west, with a host of exciting attractions including its Courtroom Experience, the Bodmin Jail, the Bodmin and Wenford Railway, or a trip to see each of the seven holy wells, which lie dotted around the town. Ancient Jamaica Inn, which lies in the heart of the moor, brims with smuggling and pirate history; almost 300 years old, it's celebrated in Daphne du Maurier’s popular novel and is well worth a visit. With much to see and do, and stunning scenery all around, Bodmin Moor is a delightful destination for your holiday.
