The property

Delightful for a couple seeking a relaxing break and lots of space. It is ideally situated for touring Cornwall's wild North Coast and the gentle fishing villages of the South Coast. Feel free to wander around the grounds, where you can bring the bistro table and chairs provided for your use to enjoy a quiet spot within three acres of flower-filled gardens and beech woods once visited by Queen Mary. Locally, there's lots to do with moorland and woodland walks right on the doorstep, magnificent gardens, the Camel Trail for walking and cycling, horse-riding, wonderful grand houses and fascinating archaeology all nearby.

Enter the apartment by passing through a grand hallway and stairs to the first floor, to be greeted by the bright and airy living room with its fresh colour schemes.

The kitchen is new and well-equipped, perfect for preparing a tasty evening meal, before retiring to the comfortable sofas, with views overlooking the oval lawn.

Delight in the original paintings and other artworks by Cornish artists and artisans, and browse the library in the roomy hallway. The bathroom has a lovely shower and a bath for enjoying a long soak after a day at the beach, and as the evening draws to a close, snuggle up in the king-size double bed, with the window providing views over lawns and beech woodland, proving why it's located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

About the location

BODMIN MOOR

Bodmin 7 miles; Launceston 14 miles

The vast and rugged Bodmin Moor, designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, forms over 150 square miles of striking, rocky landscape, with much of it declared a Site of Specific Scientific Importance. This ancient location is home to mystical standing stones, old buildings dating from medieval times and thousands of years’ worth of tin mining heritage. There are plenty of beautiful walks to discover, with challenging climbs up some of the tallest spots in Cornwall, offering fantastic far-reaching views towards both the north and south coast on fine days. The nearby town of Launceston, fondly thought of as the Gateway to Cornwall, can be found to the north east, with beautiful Georgian buildings set around its central square, and romantic ruins of a Norman castle at the outskirts. In the other direction, the historic town of Bodmin lies to the south west, with a host of exciting attractions including its Courtroom Experience, the Bodmin Jail, the Bodmin and Wenford Railway, or a trip to see each of the seven holy wells, which lie dotted around the town. Ancient Jamaica Inn, which lies in the heart of the moor, brims with smuggling and pirate history; almost 300 years old, it's celebrated in Daphne du Maurier’s popular novel and is well worth a visit. With much to see and do, and stunning scenery all around, Bodmin Moor is a delightful destination for your holiday.
