  • "A delightful property in a beautiful location"

  • "Very comfortable house, was a real home from home."

Welcome gift of milk and fruit was much appreciated. House is well located for Newlyn and Penzance. Recommend Open Top bus but may want to go into Penzance to get it, as top deck often full by time gets into Newlyn. Also recommend butchers, Auntie May's pasties and Lewis's fish and chips/ Would definitely consider coming again

  • "The location was great, with beautiful views of the sea."

There was plenty of room for two cars on the drive but there was a loose steel divider on the path which we tripped over regularly. The layout of the house suited our extended family well with two ground floor bedrooms and one second floor. The kitchen and utility room were modern and well presented. There was plenty of room around the dining table for 6. The living room was comfortable although the internet was slow and struggled with streaming films. And there were insufficient seats to allow 6 people to match TV comfortably for movie nights. The main bathroom was clean and modern with a large shower that had plenty of hot water, but there was none at the sink in the main bathroom. The cloak room was clean but dated and a bit tired. There would be sufficient room to install a shower in there which would be an excellent addition when it is renovated. The beds were comfortable and the rooms clean but the curtains and bedding was dated. None of the curtains were blackout and the ones in the downstairs double did not cover the entire window. The garden and sitting out areas were well maintained and the seating was comfortable. We were met by the owner on arrival, who had kindly left us a bottle of milk, tea and a fruit basket for our arrival. There were no visitors/welcome books, though, which was unusual, so we didn't have recommendations for local eateries or the instructions booklets for the appliances or heating. The radiators in the hall and cloakroom came on each morning even though they were not required. Plus the wifi code was handwritten rather than typed which meant we used trial and error to decipher it. All in all we had a great time during our stay ar Azure and would recommend it to others. Thank you

Plenty of room. Very well equipped. Very comfortable. Owner Margaret is extremely friendly & helpful. The views are absolutely beautiful & seeing the sea from the windows make it so relaxing. We are going back in October for our sixth stay. And will be booking for March as well.

  • "'Azure' is a very comfortable ,spacious and light house."

It is very well equipped. It was perfect for us 4 adults and 2 children. Having plenty of parking for 2 cars on the property was really good especially as my son in law had his van. We very much liked the location very close to Newlyn and within walking distance into Penzance using 'Creeping Lane'. It is steep in places but we didn't mind that. The view from the lounge was a delight. We very much would like to come back.

Is located in a quiet location with private parking. Host is very attentive & on hand should you need anything not that we did. Would definitely book again even though it has 3 bedrooms & there was only 2 of us.

  • "Just arrived back from our holiday."

Despite the weather not being great it didn't stop us getting out and about. St. Michael's Mount is a must. We also used the coast to coast bus, visited st ives and lands end, scenery was breath taking. The house was very spacious especially when you have two 17 year old with you. The views from the house were outstanding, especially from the living room in the evening. The house had everything you needed and more, especially in the kitchen. Yes some of the house is a little dated, but this added to the character and made it feel homely. Loved our stay here and would tell anybody that they wouldn't be disappointed. It's in a great location, went went walking most evenings into Newlyn and Penzance. Thank you for a lovely holiday x

Its a very well maintained house & any issues are dealt with immediately by the very friendly owner. A short walk from all the fish shops & restaurants in Newlyn. We are booked in again in June.

  • "Had a lovely holiday in Azure, a well loved family house."

Very clean and well appointed with everything we needed ( and more) for a great time. The owner had even plenty of groceries to start us off, a very welcome sight after a long drive. The house is light and spacious, with a picture window looking across Penzance bay from Newlyn to St Michaels Mount, a sun trap patio and an eating out area too. The sunrises where amazing to see. The walk to Newlyn, where there is a supermarket, bakery selling pasties, sandwiches and cakes too, plenty of restaurants( may need to book as some very popular) is very steep in places but gives you a lovely view. You can walk into Penzance along the front too . Didn’t want to leave and would love to return!

The only scope of improvement I could find is the matress. it was not comfortable and some of us had slight back problems in the morning, other than that we had a great stay. I would definitely recommend it to my friends and family.

About the location

NEWLYN

Penzance 1.2 miles; Marazion 6.6 miles; St Ives 8.9 miles.

Nestled next to Penzance, and although still a quaint town in its own right, Newlyn is actually the third largest fishing port in England, and an important Port of Refuge for all seafaring craft. This Cornish town is clustered around the harbour, with its historic 800 year old quay (the Mayflower actually left for America from this quay, not Plymouth) curling around a few small boats on the western side. Famous for the Newlyn school of Art and Newlyn Copper, the Cornwall Coastal Path passes through the town, as does the level Mousehole to Marazion cycle path. An abundance of wildlife and flora can be enjoyed along both, with basking sharks, dolphins and grey seals often seen. The Cornish coast is renowned for surfing, and Penwith offers some splendid beaches on which to enjoy this sport as well as surf fishing for sea bass. Mounts Bay also offers a wealth of opportunity for watersports enthusiasts as well as giving visitors an opportunity to relax and unwind in beautiful surroundings.
