    Spindrift has an amazing view which we really enjoyed. You can see for miles and it's like an ever changing picture. It was VERY clean. The beds were comfortable and the showers very powerful. It has everything you need for your holiday and more. Perfect for the dog with the secure outdoor space. Sadly there is an issue with sound proofing in the apartment and the upstairs neighbour seems to be taking advantage of this. I don't think she is happy with the apartment being used as a holiday let. On our first day there we were aware of every movement being made upstairs. Footsteps were violent thuds and her little dog sounded like there was a rat in the ceiling. Both the people and the dog constantly seemed to drop things on the floor and on occasion the whole apartment seemed to vibrate. There was also DIY work going on up there and power tools were being used until gone 9pm. Voices were very audible as was the TV and we could even hear every bodily function occurring in the bathroom. The noise on Saturday night went on until 11.15pm. On the Sunday we had to pop out for an hour. We left our dog in his cage as he wasn't able to come with us. Half an hour into our meeting we received an answer phone message from Sykes Cottages saying that there had been a complaint and that our 'poor dog' had been barking incessantly all morning. Half an hour in reality. Our dog had been out for his toilet and is very used to his cage. As he only barks once or twice at a noise that means that if he was barking incessantly then the noises from upstairs would have been constant. When we went back to the apartment to collect our dog we found a note taped to the door echoing what Sykes Cottage had said and quoting the t&c's of the apartment rules on not leaving a dog unattended. The neighbour was out. We left the note on the door, collected the dog and went off down to the beach. Later that afternoon we received yet another message from Sykes Cottages saying that we really must go back and collect our dog as he really would need to go out by now. We think that when the neighbour returned she saw that her note was still there and assumed (wrongly) that we hadn't been back. The noise from upstairs that night was a lot louder than Saturday night. At one point through frustration and anger at the noise and being upset by the phone calls from Sykes I threw my ballpoint pen at the ceiling. I was rewarded by a barrage of bangs on the floor. Then the week began. The noise starts at 7am so don't expect a lay in. Loud footsteps, toilet activities, dog scampering, tv noise etc. Luckily the lady goes to work so the daytime is actually nice and quiet but starts again once she gets home until about 10-10.30pm. Unfortunately for us it was Good Friday so the quiet week finished early. She had company arrive so every noise was multiplied. There was also still some DIY being done. We felt that every noise we made was thrown back at us ten times worse. We were constantly saying Shhhh to our son and our dog and spent the week walking on eggshells. It made our time spent in the apartment tense, unhappy and miserable. In the details we received prior to arriving is the paragraph..... NOISE: Please be aware that noise travels upward in an apartment. We'd please ask you to be courteous to ***, our neighbour above who lives full time in her apartment and not be too loud. Now, having returned home and seen Mrs Hunters review on here about her experiences it seems that there is some sort of history with the neighbour and she seems fully determined to spoil everyone's holiday. She can complain to Sykes but who are we supposed to complain to about her noise ?

The master bedroom has a king-size bed and luxury en-suite, as well as boasting a sea view; ideal for breakfast in bed while watching the ocean.

The second bedroom is a twin, which can be set up as a king-size double bed on request.

Outside, a small private enclosed courtyard patio, complete with furniture, offers a peaceful suntrap where you can relax together late into summer evenings.

Beach buffs will find this location absolutely ideal, and be spoilt for choice by the selection of sandy bays nearby.

Walk across the road, turn left and within just a few minutes' stroll you are on Porth Beach, after first passing Whipsiderry Beach, adored by surfers who flock here throughout the season.

Set opposite the South West Coastal Path, the cottage is perfectly placed for walking.

Just under two miles away by road, or a 30-minute walk along the beach and coast path, you can discover the many delights that the lively seaside resort of Newquay offers.

Follow the coastal path east towards Watergate Bay, just 30 minutes’ walk away, made famous by Jamie Oliver's restaurant, Fifteen, but now equally celebrated for the plentiful watersports on offer.

By car, virtually all of Cornwall's tourist attractions are within easy reach, or you can take advantage of the regular coastal bus service to Padstow or Newquay, making this fine holiday home the perfect location whatever the time of year.

The village offers a shop, cafes, restaurants and a pub on the sandy beach, plus nearby is the South West Coast Path, which boasts spectacular scenery. Watergate Bay, with its rolling waves, surf schools, cafe and pubs, is a short walk away, and the popular resort of Newquay with its beaches, watersports, pubs, restaurants, zoo and aquarium is well worth a visit. Fistral Beach and surf centre are three miles west of Porth, whilst the surf training school at Lusty Glaze Beach is actually within the village. The charming fishing village of Padstow, along with Bodmin Moor, the city of Truro, Falmouth and the world-famous Eden Project are all within easy reach, making Porth an ideal base for a Cornish getaway.
