  • "I had read a number of reviews about the cleanliness so had been a bit worried before our arrival."

However the property was clean and comfortable with a great view in a nice location and I would recommend to others.

  • "The property is in a great location with fantastic views of the sea."

I have totally positive feedback to give. The only problem was we had to spend an hour upon arrival cleaning the place. The beds were made with fresh covers etc but the sofa was full of food bits. The kitchen area needed a total clean. I read similar reviews about this prior to booking and fail to understand why these issues haven’t been confronted. Over all, once cleaned up, a great place to stay. Great location and quiet. 2 mins from beautiful coastline scenery. Definitely worth a stay.

  • "We have stayed at this property a few times before because we love the location and the views it has."

We both felt that this time the cleanliness was not up to previous standards. The property is also starting to look a bit tired and is in need a a bit of modernising and the decor bringing up to the standard that is expected these days. Some of the fixtures, fittings and furniture have certainly seen better days.

  • "Spectacular location and views."

Unfortunately let down by an extremely outdated flat, in desperate need of replacement of everything. To the point is had a horrible musty damp smell throughout. Such a shame, as it could be beautiful. Would not recommend or return.

  • "The apartment was clean and tidy, the beds were really comfortable, having a washing machine/dryer was really useful after a day at the beach."

The sofa was comfy to sit on but not one you could lay on in an evening as it was quite narrow. A better TV in the bedroom would have been nice and a better shower too as it lost pressure frequently. Overall a really enjoyable stay, what makes this apartment stand out is the view! Absolutely loved waking up and gazing out the window every morning!

  • "The flat was not very clean- the kitchen sink had bits in it, there were coffee grounds in the shelves and the carpet didn't look very clean either."

This would have been annoying at the best of times but in these CoVid times, it was very disappointing. There was a musty smell in the flat and some of the cupboards obviously had some old stuff in them which could be the source of the smell. The smell disappeared after a day of leaving all the windows open, but tended to reappear every time we shut the windows for a prolonged period of time e.g. when we came back after a day out. It needs a lick of paint as well but the above two really need addressing asap.

  • "When we got to the property it had not been cleaned."

Just the bed sheets had been changed. I rang the cleaning company up and we went out they still did not clean properly. I rang again in the morning and some more cleaners were sent out . I feel disgusted that the place wasn't really clean especially to covid standard.i have taken pics of it. There was hairs in the bathroom dust on the bedside cabinets. An old razer top on the bathroom floor. The bathroom bin was full.the toilet was dirty and had urine on the seat. There were still the previous occupants glasses in the bedside cabinets. The place hadn't been vacked. And the place smelt very bad. I was very worried about covid. And if I or my family get poorlyI will know who to blame. I will be issuing a formal complaint to your customer services dept. You should be thoroughly vetting what properties you are letting out.

  • "We had a lovely holiday, location of the apartment was great for the beaches."

A beautiful veiw from the apartment, which made up for the inside of the apartment. Although comfortable it was a little tired and in need of a bit of updating.

  • "Excellent location, well equipped apartment, only negative is the apartment smells slightly damp and there is mould on the bathroom ceiling, this definitely needs an extractor fan in it."

Thank you for your feedback, this is much appreciated. I am pleased to confirm that an extractor fan has now been installed in the bathroom, the mould was treated and the bathroom ceiling repainted. Property Owner

  • "Lovely spacious apartment that is well-suited for families and in a great location."

The towels and bed linen were all very clean. However, the level of mould on the walls and ceilings throughout the apartment was unacceptable, especially in the bathroom.

Thank you for your feedback. As soon as I received your feedback I checked the property, and the bathroom ceiling, where some mould had developed over the summer due to the property being constantly booked out. This has been treated and re-painted. We hope to welcome you back again in the future. Property Owner

  • "The appointment was as described."

Clean and tidy, with good views and beaches on the doorstep, if a bit dated in places. Superb views and sunsets and lovely walks on the doorstep. It's a shame that there is not a shop selling essentials in easy walking distance. The local pub was not to our taste, but the Tapas bar is excellent. It's also only a 30 min walk or a short drive along the coast to Watergate Bay, with more good dining options. And Newquay with all that is there is in the other direction. Although the weather was superb and really sunny, the down side of the big picture window is that the sun streams in all day. The curtains are not thick enough to shield the sun and thus keep the room cool when you are out for the day, even when fully drawn. So it would be good to have either thicker curtains or a blind as well.

Thank you for your detailed feedback. There hasn’t previously been any comment that the apartment can be too hot, but 2018 was an exceptionally hot summer for Cornwall, maybe as warm as fabled 1976. I have now added a ‘blackout’ blind to the front bedroom, and am still exploring options for the living room window, which is so important as the views are the most appealing attribute of the property. Hopefully something will be in place by summer 2019 just in case we have another warm summer. We hope to welcome you back in the future. Property Owner

The property

Perfectly located for beach holidays and coastal walking this first floor flat with stunning far reaching sea views is set in the village of Porth on the coast road linking Newquay and Watergate Bay.

You park at the rear of the flat before entering via a set of stairs into the hallway taking you through to the open plan living room with kitchen, dining and sitting areas.

The view from here is spectacular and many hours could be spent in a cosy chair simply gazing out to sea.

There are two bedrooms with the double enjoying the amazing views which are just wonderful to wake up to.

Directly opposite the flat is the coastal path which will take you to a whole host of splendid beaches.

Porth beach which is 5 minutes walk away is very popular with families and has a vast expanse of flat golden sand offering safe bathing.

Whipsiderry beach is even closer but only accessed by ascending many steps but you are rewarded by a splendid much quieter beach.

Also a must visit and again only a few minutes walk away is the historic Porth island, an impressive ancient cliff fort and settlement accessed by a narrow footbridge.

For an unforgettable walk simply take the exhillarating coastal path from the flat to Watergate bay where lunch or refreshments can be enjoyed in the excellent beach cafe or for that special occasion Jamie Oliver's number 15 restaurant before returning, if the tide allows along the beach all the way to Porth.

With all Newquay has to offer and Padstow an easy and beautiful coastal drive away a stay here offers comfortable accommodation in an ideal location all year round
