“Overall it was a lovely cottage very warm and cosy and location was excellent.”

Few niggles which didnt really spoil the holiday. Bedroom is small with big furniture which makes it difficult to get round one side of bed. No lamp in main bedroom used one from second room. Would be handy to have a clock somewhere. We travelled around visiting. Eden project. Falmouth maritime museum. Newquay zoo. Padstow lobster hatchery. Highly recommend Rick Stein at Fistral bay. Too name a few. Great time. Thank you Mr Allen and Sykes Cottages. Joy and Michael

The property

Porth 1 mile.

Ideally located for touring the spectacular North Cornish coastline, this semi-detached, single-storey cottage is just half a mile from the award-winning Porth Beach and Whipsiderry; voted in the top 20 of Europe’s best beaches by the Sunday Times.

Only two miles from the centre of Newquay, this cottage has a homely feel with an open plan living area with a kitchen, a dining area and a sitting area.

The two bedrooms provide easily accessible accommodation with a double and a twin room, ideal for a group of friends or a family.

Outside, there is a shared courtyard where you can sit and enjoy the sea breeze, overlooking this small cluster of cottages and Porth Valley.

The village of Porth is within walking distance and has a couple of shops, a pub on the beach and an excellent tapas bar.

For those wanting to go further afield, both Newquay and Watergate Bay are easily accessible by walking along the beautiful coastal path.

It is also possible to walk to both along the beach at low tide, whilst the drive along the coast to Watergate Bay and then on to Padstow, passing lots of small coves and villages along the way, is one you will always remember.

This is a great location for holidays and short breaks all year round.

Watergate Bay, with its rolling waves, surf schools, cafe and pubs, is a short walk away, and the popular resort of Newquay with its beaches, watersports, pubs, restaurants, zoo and aquarium is well worth a visit.
