Liskeard Cottages
Our Liskeard cottages are situated in the heart of southeast
Cornwall, gateway to secluded coves and resorts along the stunning
south coast and, to the northwest, the vast windswept expanse of
Bodmin Moor.
Historic trails near your Liskeard cottage
Liskeard developed as an important tin mining centre and is an
interesting town to explore. Follow the heritage trail, another
especially created for children or the Henry Rice Trail, taking in
over 100 buildings designed by the architect. Discover more
historic facts at the local museum and at Stuart House, a
delightful arts and heritage centre. Other notable buildings
include the Victorian Guildhall, Regency Market Hall and St.
Martin's Church. Do also look out for the Pipe Well, fed by
four springs and said to have healing powers, as well as decorative
murals portraying scenes from Liskeard's past. And if you head
just out of town you'll stumble across King Doniert's
Stone, two intricately carved fragments of a 9th-Century Celtic
cross and Trethevy Quoit, a Neolithic burial chamber.
Liskeard's narrow lanes are lined with a good range of
shops, while traditional markets are held on Mondays and Thursdays.
On the food front, enjoy informal gatherings in your Liskeard
cottage or sample local specialities in one of the restaurants or
pubs.
Other entertainment comes in the form of Lux Park, an excellent
leisure centre popular with families. Plus there are lots of
cultural, musical, stage and other such events held on a regular
basis.
What else? Mother Nature's best, of course - amazing scenery
right on the doorstep of your Liskeard cottage just waiting to be
explored! Find your perfect base for a Cornwall
