  • "Magnolia Lodge was immaculate and very comfortable, one of the best we've stayed."

The park staff were very helpful and gave us information about places to visit. The local Inn did very good food and only a five minute walk. We really enjoyed our holiday here ,however it doesn't mention the closeness of the busy A38 at the rear of this Lodge. Which wasn't a problem during the day but traffic noise disturbed us at night as this busy road was constantly used. For this reason I wouldn't stay at Magnolia Lodge again but would return to the park further away from the A38 so I wasn't kept awake by the constant traffic noise......

  • "Lovely lodge, in beautiful area."

Hot tub is amazing, friendly staff and facilities where good inside , loved the walk in wardrobe. Nice to have two bathrooms. Only thing that wasn’t so good was our bed , not comfortable because of the springs that were underneath.Cooker was amazing ! Fridge and freezer amazing too . Would be nice to receive a welcome package of basic food supplies like milk and biscuits.

  • "We had a lovely stay at Magnolia Lodge."

The lodge itself was modern with all of the mod cons and very spacious. The hot tub was great too! The Notterbridge Inn serves delicious food but make sure you book and get there early as they do sell out of popular items. The park itself has limited facilities (small lake, nature trail). We did go exploring however the path through the wooded area is not used much so therefore was very undulated underfoot and steep. We did explore across the road from the park which was a lovely little (2miles) walk. The two teenagers struggled to find things to entertain themselves although they did enjoy the huge, outside chess board! We used the Lodge as a base to explore Cornwall. Therefore, it is a great location for Looe beach, Polperro and Tregantle beach( stunning). We visited Newquay and Bodmin too. A bit closer are an Escape room (Plymouth) and a crazy golf course which we’re lots of fun. Overall we would go back but would leave the two teenagers at home.

  • "We were very impressed with the standard of facilities at Magnolia Lodge, and especially the cleanliness."

The lodge exceeded our expectations based on previous lodge holidays - all of them have been very enjoyable, but Magnolia Lodge was especially well-equipped and extremely comfortable. It was a nice touch for Kirsten, the property manager, to phone us mid-afternoon for an update on our estimated arrival time; we were reassured that it would be easy to reach her or her colleagues if there were any issues during our stay. The site itself is very well maintained with fishing lake/stream and woodlands to stroll around. It is located just off a very busy main road, but the site feels quite private and the traffic noise isn't a turn off. About 5 minutes' drive from supermarkets etc., and a good base for exploring. During our week, we visited Looe, Polperro, Kingsands, Tavistock, Plymouth and Dartmoor National Park. Would highly recommend for a relaxing, or active, holiday!

About the location

Plymouth 6 miles; Liskeard 14 miles.

Saltash is dominated by the magnificent Tamar Bridge, Brunel’s masterpiece of engineering taking people from Devon to Cornwall across the Tamar River, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Saltash retains much of its old Cornish charm with narrow streets rising steeply from the banks of the river, and plenty of shops and interesting inns. From the old quayside there are river trips up stream to Calstock, a pretty village with white cottages on a steep hillside. Here, the 120 foot giant 11-arched Calstock Railway Viaduct towers above the River Tamar and carries one of Britain’s most picturesque branch lines down to the coast. Saltash offers some beautiful walks along the Tamar, and is only a five minute drive from Plymouth, with a plenty to occupy visitors including the historic Barbican quayside area with cafes, shops and bistros, the National Marine Aquarium and several theatres. A perfect base for exploring the area along the beautiful River Tamar.
