“I just wanted to say how gorgeous I found my cottage Homestead.”

The welcome Cream Tea goodies were such a lovely touch. Very much appreciated. The decor was beautiful and the kitchen and equipment provided were perfect. I had a wonderful week.

The property

Stylish and well-located, the sweet terraced property ‘Homestead’ is everything you would expect a Grade II listed former fisherman’s cottage to be, oozing charm and character in abundance.

Located in an enviable spot overlooking Port Isaac’s historic harbour, and within a short 2-minute walk of the village’s excellent restaurants, pubs and shops, couples looking for a romantic retreat need look no further.

On the ground floor is an open-plan sitting room with a dining area and galley kitchen featuring a beautiful slate floor and a low, beamed ceiling.

Upstairs hosts a king-size double bedroom with harbour views, and an en-suite shower room with basin and WC.

Sit in bed with your morning coffee and watch the fishermen in the harbour bustling to and from, before you head out for a day exploring the coastline for yourself.

Wander the streets of Port Isaac and grab a drink from one of the pubs, and if you’re lucky listen to the local singers ‘Fisherman’s Friends’ perform on the “Platt” (harbour), or dine on local seafood at the celebrity chef Nathan Outlaw’s restaurant in the village.

For a fun day out, Tintagel Castle is around 11 miles away, whilst Wadebridge is approximately 8 miles away where you can hire a bike and cycle the beautiful Camel Trail all the way to Padstow for a delicious lunch.

Whether you are looking for a peaceful romantic break, or an action-packed week of exploring North Cornwall’s mesmerising coastline with your loved one, Homestead is a great base for your holiday.

About the location

PORT ISAAC

Polzeath 6 miles; Padstow 9 miles

Port Isaac; one of the true Cornish treasures. A beautiful fishing village nestling in a steep sided valley, the old village in the valley remains unchanged from its days of fishing, slate export and smuggling in the previous century. An abundance of small character properties complemented by larger cliff-top retreats, can be found with easy access to the numerous restaurants and shops of the village. The sandy harbour provides an abundance of rock pools as the tide retreats. Only ten minutes drive from the beaches of Polzeath, Daymer and Rock, it is perfect for romantic and family holidays alike. There is ample parking at the top of the village.
