“The lounge area was dirty - sofa looked unclean and carpets grubby.”

    The bathroom smelled of mould.

The bathroom smelled of mould. The lack of outdoor space at all was disappointing but we were aware of this before booking however there was no mention that we were 10 ft away from a restaurant patio where people were dining all day and creating a lot of noise.

This property is part of the John Bray Cornish Holidays collection.
John Bray Cornish Holidays offers some of the best located self catering cottages and holiday homes in North Cornwall’s loveliest locations including Rock and Daymer Bay, on the Camel Estuary, and Polzeath and Port Isaac on the Atlantic coast.

The property

Sea Glimpses is a charming holiday home located in a superb location in Port Isaac, Cornwall, close to nearby shops, cafes, and restaurants.

A short walk from both Port Isaac's historic harbour and the shingle cove at Port Gaverne, Sea Glimpses is the perfect base - offering a convenient and attractive place to stay for up to four guests in two bedrooms.

The open-plan living space has a well-equipped kitchen with everything you might need for rustling up a tasty meal or two during your stay and the dining area will comfortably seat four guests around the table.

The cosy sitting area provides a welcome spot to relax after a long day of sightseeing or walking the Cornish coast.

On the ground-floor there is also a family bathroom with bath and overhead shower, as well as a handy utility store cupboard.

Upstairs you’ll find a good-sized twin bedroom and the master bedroom with king-size bed and views of the countryside from the large VELUX windows.

The pretty village of Port Isaac has become recognisable to many as the fictional town of Port Wenn, in the TV series Doc Martin.

Walk the narrow streets lined with traditional, white-washed fisherman’s cottages, sit on the Platt and watch the fishing boats come and go, or take a boat trip out to sea and along the coastline.

If you are a keen walker then head out along the South West Coast Path, a route that runs for miles in both directions along the coast towards Tintagel to the east and Polzeath to the west.

Polzeath Beach is an award-winning beach that has some great conditions for surfing but if surfing isn’t your cup of tea then you can head around the corner to the more sheltered New Polzeath Beach.

Discover the beauty of North Cornwall with a stay at Sea Glimpses.

About the location

Polzeath 6 miles; Padstow 9 miles

Port Isaac; one of the true Cornish treasures. A beautiful fishing village nestling in a steep sided valley, the old village in the valley remains unchanged from its days of fishing, slate export and smuggling in the previous century. An abundance of small character properties complemented by larger cliff-top retreats, can be found with easy access to the numerous restaurants and shops of the village. The sandy harbour provides an abundance of rock pools as the tide retreats. Only ten minutes drive from the beaches of Polzeath, Daymer and Rock, it is perfect for romantic and family holidays alike. There is ample parking at the top of the village.
