  • "Property had a lovely layout was perfect for 2 bedroom and bathroom very spacious upstairs had a nice apartment style."

Wasn't very clean unfortunately windows inside and out dirty window sills and lamps upstairs and down very dusty. Patio areas were very overgrown lacking in general maintenance. We had problems with the TV but that got sorted halfway thru our stay to be fair. Staying out of season we paid a fair price I would have been disappointed paying anymore no complaints about the property cleanliness and maintenance let's it down.

Thank you for your feedback, sorry to hear of the issues you had, these will be bought to the attention of our maintenance and housekeeping teams. We hope to welcome you back in the near future. John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owner Property Owner

  • "Perfect place for just the two of us for a week."

The Hideaway is perfectly located near a car park (with EV charging) and car parking can be paid via Just Park app for the full week too (shorter durations are available). The property was spotlessly clean and fully equipped, including glasses of all sizes. Wi-Fi worked for us 99% of the time and the TV worked fine too. The tiniest grumble we’d have, is that the sofa (it’s a sofa bed) isn’t the comfiest but as we spent most time outdoors we only used it minimally. Anyone sitting in all day, may find it uncomfortable. It was a short walk into Port Isaac and there are lovely places to eat near the property too. We would stay here again, it was perfect for our needs.

Thank you for your kind comments, we are so pleased you enjoyed your stay and look forward to welcoming you back in the near future. John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owner Property Owner

  • "Lovely cottage."

Perfect location. Beautiful view. Only a walk away from Port Isaac. Lovely and clean inside. We really enjoyed our holiday here. A few little things let it down, but not major. They wouldn't stop me from returning. There weren't any tumbler glasses. My partner likes a whiskey nightcap and had either a wine glass or pint pot to choose from. The bedroom was quite warm. There was only a duvet and not a sheet available. The sofa isn't very comfortable.

Thank you so much for your feedback. We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay and would love to welcome you back anytime in the future. • "Lovely property internally, comfortable bed, sofa, great shower."

Such a shame we had to bring our own Gin Glasses from home (having read some reviews prior to arriving) also no glasses for orange juice etc, such a shame as so easy to rectify. As for the outside patios, our faces fell we walked through the gate, the patios were all filfy, not sure when they were last swept, the balcony glass screening/balustrade were covered in bird poo. The standard of the outdoor furniture was poor. Such a shame for such a wonderful location and so different to the interior (apart from the lack of glasses). We would book again if we felt these issues had been rectified.

  • "A lovely apartment, clean and well equipped."

Although it was low season, there was no internet access, all wee. We didn't receive your email about tiding-up, until we had returned home. I think you could be more honest about this in your information and there was also no recycling for glass bottles.

  • "The property is nicely decorated, the bed is very comfortable and the bathroom is great."

The location is very good for access for Port Isaac and parking. However, to say this property has Wi-Fi/broadband is generous. There are “extenders” which are located in the property next door which you connect to. The property next door is vast and this system doesn’t work. For the majority of our stay we couldn’t even use the internet on our phones, and at no point could we use the smart TV. If you want/need internet for your stay it may be best to look elsewhere. We did contact Sykes who sent someone from John Bray out quickly but there was nothing they could do it improve the situation.

  • "Been twice to the Hideaway this year and both times very good."

Super clean on arrival, the apartment has a spacious living/kitchen area with all utensils, etc that you'll need. Nice patio area with flowers and a view of the sea, and two material deckchairs are stored behind the sofa in the lounge which keeps them clean. Good bathroom and shower, large bedroom. Location is great with cafe, gift shop, restaurants on your doorstep and a short walk down into the iconic village. Bus stop 2 minutes walk, which can take you to lively Polzeath beach, Rock (ferry to Padstow £3), Wadebridge and, the other way, Launceston. Only negative I could find is that the signal on the TV main channels can break up a bit, maybe could do with some kind of booster. And maybe the pillows could be a little softer! But nit picking aside, it's a very nice place

  • "Great location."

Lovely bedroom and bathroom. Upstairs accommodation was lovely except couch not very comfortable. Nice outdoor seating area. Would have been nice to have a pint of milk in fridge and a couple of sachets of coffee, sugar or teabags on arrival. Also, no glasses other than champagne flutes or pints. Nothing for juice or an evening G&T. Overall, we had a great experience. Perfect for both Port Isaac & Port Gaverne. Try using local bus service for nearby beaches. Much easier and cheaper than paying to park.

  • "We rented both the Hideaway and the Crows Nest."

Despite us calling and emailing John Bray with the issues, none were resolved. The Hideaway had not been cleaned on arrival, with rubbish still in bins, floor had not been hoovered. Old bed linen had been left and there was no bedding at all for us. We managed to get hold of a maintenance man who bought some bedding and towels over but how can it be right that your guests have to clean their own holiday property on arrival and make up their own bed on arrival? Bird poo all over the walls and windows. We were promised someone would come and clean these, nobody arrived. Outside areas were filthy and unusable as was the outdoor furniture. Beautiful proprieties but they are filthy. We spent around £4500 for 5 nights and the cleanliness was an absolute joke.

Thank you for providing us with your feedback following your stay at The Hideaway. I am really sorry for the issues you encountered during your stay, we are following this up internally. I have raised the issues with our head of housekeeping he is going to ensure that the issues raised are followed up with the cleaner of the property. Please be assured that this certainly isnt the standard of service we wish to offer. • "A lovely, spacious property with good quality furnishings and fittings."

Comfortable bed and plenty storage space. Good shower. We loved the property and found its situation excellent - easy to access by car and with roaddide parking when there was a space, which was all the time we were there. In the event of the road being full the car park is very close. We only found one disadvantage - for any guests wanting to cook sometimes there was a lack of what we would consider basic equipment - no tablespoons, potato peeler, scissors scales, steamer, to name a few ezxamples. It wouldn't stop us staying there again but it would help some other guests to be forewarned.

Thank you so much for your feedback. We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay regardless of the lack of cooking provisions which we will investigate and we would love to welcome you back anytime in the future. - John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owner. Property Owner

It is conveniently situated, generally comfortable, and for the 'sale' price that we paid for the week it was definitely value for money. Port Isaac is a lovely location to spend a holiday, right on the coastal path, with beautiful sea-views and a variety of coffee shops and eateries.

Not 5 star accomodation, needs a homely touch, books on the area, wildlife etc, board games for a rainy day. duvet cover had 2 small rips covered by towels, no welcome pack which is pretty standard nowadays. Paid for 5 star and got 3 star instead.
