They are in a convenient position for meeting up with family and friends. The only problem we had with Egleton was there were no comfortable armchairs. My husband broke his hip last year and found it difficult to find anywhere comfortable to sit. Unfortunately, we had to leave the day before our leave date. It was in a lovely secluded spot which provides a relaxing time which is exactly what we needed. Rutland water and Oakham are very close by so plenty of choice to do and there are lots of food options in the local area. Reviewed by Sheila5.0★Jul 2023 "Had a great time here." The area is lovely and the lodge was very nice. The only improvement I'd suggest is to have a fence around the property. We booked this as 'dog friendly' but the close proximity to the road, and the gate onto the road as well as to the other properties meant that we couldn't let the dogs out into the garden area and had to keep taking them to the 'paddock' whenever they needed toilet breaks. Reviewed by Susan4.7★Oct 2020 "Really lovely ‘eco cabin’ - perfect for us (two couples) - well appointed, comfortable, cosy but roomy enough, and good value for money." Loads to do in the area. Reviewed by Anthea4.7★May 2019 "Lovely place to stay had everything we needed, we even learned to cope without a kettle and used the wonderful instant boiling hot water tap." Lovely pet friendly site and the staff in the lodge nearby were very helpful and attentive. Will definitely recommend.
