The property

This is a lovely, stone and brick-built cottage which sits opposite the village green in the beautiful village of Braunston-in Rutland.

This cosy cottage comes in a location with so much going on around it, it is perfect for a family holiday.

Step into Mouse Cottage and straight into the sitting room with a fantastic feature stone wall, accompanied by leather sofas, an open fire and a TV to make the prime spot for sitting and watching a family favourite film.

This leads onto the homely dining room which boasts a multi-fuel stove.

Next to the dining room is a compact yet well-equipped kitchen, having everything you need including a dishwasher and washing machine.

There is oil-fired central heating, as well as the fires, to ensure a warm and cosy stay.

The ground floor of the cottage is finished off with a charming family bathroom.

The staircase offers another characterful stone wall, leading up to the two upstairs bedrooms.

The main bedroom has a king-size double bed and the second bedroom has a single captain’s bed where a full size single bed can be pulled out from underneath it to accommodate the fourth guest.

Both rooms are well-presented and comfortably furnished to make you feel right at home.

On the clear, sunny days, make sure you make the most of the garden area.

It comes up a set of stone steps, a well-kept patio area with seating for four and a gas BBQ, what better place for a family feast?

Braunston is home to two local pubs which both offer first rate food and good ales if you fancy a night off from the cooking.

Visit the nearby market town of Oakham which offers pretty buildings, great history in the museum, castle and church, as well as a good choice for shopping and eating.

Rutland Water is only six miles away, offering all sorts from fishing to watersports to family-friendly cycling.

Rutland has, in addition to its two market towns, numerous attractive villages, restaurants, pubs and walks.

The East Midlands is packed with lovely towns and cities that are worth visiting, the train station in Oakham offers access to places such as Nottingham and Leicester with their great shopping and stunning buildings.

Braunston is an attractive village just 2 miles from Rutland's market town of Oakham (markets on Wednesdays and Fridays), and 6 miles from Uppingham (market on Fridays) famous for its public school and its most famous pupil Stephen Fry. Braunston has two local pubs, The Old Plough and the Blue Ball (which is the oldest pub in Rutland) both offering first-rate food and ale. Rutland is England's smallest county and an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
