Excellent location within easy walking distance of everything that Oakham has to offer. We were told initially that the only place to keep our bicycles would be outside in the enclosed back yard, but in practice they fitted easily into the cupboard underneath the stairs accessed from the kitchen.

Everything was clean, welcoming and of the highest standard. There were various welcome goods, including local bread and jam, milk and various other groceries and treats. The cottage had also been decorated in every room for the festive season which was a particularly nice touch. Communication from the owners is exceptional and all information required for the cottage is found within. We were provided with a parking permit for Rutland council car parks and one is situated literally round the corner and we briefly parked outside the cottage to empty the car of suitcases etc and then parked up in the car park which was very safe and convenient. There’s a nice market on Saturday and Wednesday , we used Tesco’s for our food and we would recommend nearby Stamford as a nice place to visit. To conclude we would highly recommend this holiday cottage and a big thank you to Val who was so helpful and kind x

The weather was kind to us during our stay so we were able to sit in the little garden. The church is very close to the cottage with the steeple being lit up at night and the bells rung on Sunday. All in all a very 'village' feel to this area. Oakham has much to offer so check out its Buttercross and Stocks which are interesting in their history.
