The Watermill Cottages

The Watermill Cottages are two charming cottages overlooking the beautiful canal in the village of Ringstead, Northamptonshire. The properties are located above the idyllic Water Mill Tearooms, found at the lock on the road between Great Addington and Ringstead. The tearooms serve breakfasts, lunches and afternoon tea, and homes delightful views of the river. The well-equipped, stylish properties with inviting characteristics would be the perfect location for couples, friends and families. Both properties pose a large open-plan living/kitchen/dining space styled with a contemporary interior design. Within the sitting rooms there are floor-to-ceiling windows to fill the room with natural light, as well as allowing you to appreciate the views from the comfort of your own sofa. In the cottages you will also discover the history of the buildings, as exposed beams, the impressive original mill wheel and other features of the old mill are on full display. The cottage's are a stone’s throw away from the pub, just under a mile walk, and the nearest shop can be located within 2.5 miles. Additionally, the area play hosts to a range of activities and places to explore. Within a 10-minute drive from the property you will be able to visit Stanwick Lakes to explore the 750-acre site, ideal for children’s activities. For a more leisurely stroll you can visit The Old Rectory Gardens, which is situated just a 15-minute drive from the properties.

Millstone Cottage is a charming property nestled above the Water Mill Tearooms in Ringstead.

The property sleeps up to six people and is well-equipped for a family or friends retreat.

It hosts a large open-plan, kitchen and dining room, with elegant and stylish interiors to suit the needs of all guests.

Also noteworthy, the sofa within the living room can be made into a sofa bed.

Situated upstairs are the deluxe bedrooms, including one twin room and a double bedroom with ample storage.

The small village of Ringstead is set in east Northamptonshire, in peaceful rolling countryside, just three miles from the town of Thrapston. Ringstead village offers good local amenities, which include two shops, a Post Office, a riverside tea room and two pubs, along with pretty ironstone cottages. Ringstead’s former sand and gravel pits have with the passing of time become Northamptonshire’s largest Pocket Park, with the Kinewell Lake Pocket Park and Local Nature Reserve offering wonderful lakes, which are set in 87 acres of land, and are rich with waterfowl, herons, kingfishers, and the occasional sighting of otters, along with picnic benches, a bird hide and permit only fishing. The River Nene passes alongside the village where you can enjoy watching the passing barges and riverboats, or you may wish to hire a boat at Willy Watt Marina. The attractive market town of Thrapston is just 3 miles away and offers a wider selection of shops. The rolling hills of the Northamptonshire countryside are ideal for cycling, walking, plus fishing is available in a number of lakes. Sports fans will love the proximity to Santa Pod Raceway, Rockingham Speedway, Silverstone motor racing circuit and Huntingdon Racecourse, whilst for a more sedate day out, why not spend some time visiting Rockingham Castle and Garden, Boughton House, Stanwick Lakes, Althorpe House, Sywell Aviation Museum and Hamerton Zoo Park which are all within easy driving distance.
