  • "Beautifully furnished flat, very comfortable with a everything you might need."

Hidden away from the rest of Oakham, but just a short step to all the pubs, cafe and restaurants of this beautiful English town.

  • "Hideout was absolutely ideal for us."

The accommodation had all the facilities we needed, exactly as described on the website. It was clean and fresh. The terrace was lovely. The location was perfect for local shopping in Oakham, and also for getting out into the countryside and to Rutland Water. And Sykes Holidays provided an excellent service throughout. Full marks all round, and many thanks.

The accommodation provides all we need for a relaxing break in Oakham. Everything is maintained to a high standard. The property is located in an ideal setting to enjoy both Oakham itself and the beauty of Rutland. Looking forward to our next visit.

  • "What a lovely little place."

We enjoyed nice weeks stay here and the owner ensured the place was clean, comfortable - nice touch with wine, tea, coffee and milk, and plenty of lovely soft towels! The apartment has everything you should need for a stay. The decor was tasteful and the apartment had a cosy feel. The only reason the facilities got 4 stars is the master bed feels small. the owner has told me its on the list for replacement! Might not suit elderly or people with back/leg problems as its reached up some stairs. definitely worth a visit.

  • "The Hideout is a gem of a place."

Wasn’t quite sure what to expect as this isn’t a cottage, rather an apartment with a “cottagey” feel! It is spotlessly clean, exceptionally well-equipped & comfortable. It is the perfect base to explore the stunning county of Rutland, with Oakham itself offering a good selection of independent shops, tea rooms, pubs & restaurants. Would highly recommend!

  • "The Hideout feels like a cottage rather than a flat, with a lovely, peaceful seated area outside."

The accommodation is well appointed for exploring the local area and further afield - the information supplied about the area was very helpful. There is long stay parking very close by, with the option of one hour street parking during the day which is great for unloading/loading the car. The flat was spotlessly clean, tastefully decorated and well equipped. Thank you for a great holiday!

  • "Oakham and Rutland around it is a lovely spot if you like little villages, old churches - almost old England."

My wife and I do like these thing so had a lovely time. Mind you, we are getting on a bit. Were I 30 years younger it might all seem a little dull . . . .

  • "We were delighted with the position and most of the facilities at The Hideout."

The comfortable seating and the beds were excellent and the kitchen well equipped. Our major problem was the dining area. It was hard to see on the listing that the dining table was tiny and the only seating is 4 stools which were exceedingly uncomfortable. The table is barely big enough to accommodate 2 people so how 4 people could fit around it is hard to imagine. One of the pleasures of a holiday for us is being able to enjoy a nice meal on the evenings we don't eat out so this was a real disappointment.

  • "Although ‘The Hideout’ is essentially a flat it felt more like you were staying in a cottage."

It’s beautifully decorated, comfortable beds with luxury bedding and towels. Kitchen is well equipped if you wish to cook and lounge area is very comfortable. The outside area is ideal and gets the sun most of the day. The welcome pack of wine, milk, cakes etc was greatly appreciated after a long journey! Oakman surpassed our expectations, it’s a beautiful market town with many thatched roofed properties, lots of lovely individual shops, restaurants, cafes and really has everything you need for an ideal break. It’s on the edge of Rutland water and we spent a few days there, meeting up with family, walking and cycling. We would definitely recommend staying at The Hideout.

  • "The Hideout is a beautifully decorated and tastefully modernised apartment with everything you could need."

We loved staying there. The shops downstairs are quiet and include an album shop which my other half loved. Oakham is a lovely place to visit, the museum round the corner to the Hideout is excellent and there are plenty of other lovely interesting places to go not so far away including Rutland Water, Hambleton and Uppington.

So convenient for all the shops/ restaurants in Oakham and outlying area. The bed was so comfortable. The roof terrace garden would have been brilliant had the weather been kind to us.
