“I had a fabulous holiday in Wiltshire.”

I went out and explored the surrounding areas by car and my foot. The cabin was beautiful and had everything I needed for my stay. A really lovely place and Janet was so kind. I was left a bottle of wine and chocolates for when I arrived. Wonderful place and will definitely look to go back again in the future. I would recommend this lovely cabin in the gorgeous Wiltshire countryside.

A lovely place to come back to at the end of the day and relax - we loved seeing the ponies when we got back too! Great facilities and good use of the small space. Hosts were really helpful and generous. A good location for seeing all the historic sights in the area, shops only a short drive away.

“This place was great, polite and friendly owner, it was exactly what we needed for a half term break, (no screaming kids .”

..lol) nice big bed, large telly, aircon that worked perfectly on hot and cold settings, we arrived in our 5 tonne motor home and were pleased that they had lots of space to park and even turn round on site to make the exit even easier, great tree lined area for dog walks just over the road, out of 5 stars we would rate this 6, we will be back very soon many thanks.

“We really enjoyed our stay at the Log Cabin in Bushton.”

We booked in for a week with our 2 Beagles, and I was expecting something rather basic as we were allowed to have the dogs with us. However, when we arrived, we went into the cabin which had all of the facilities needed, it was super clean, and very comfortable. There was also air conditioning which was fab in such hot weather, a washing machine and a decent sized fridge freezer. The Proprietors are lovely people and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

“We have just returned from a lovely week break at the lodge, the facilities were very clean, the lodge is relaxing and the owners of the site were very friendly, professional and helpful the lodge exceeded our expectation.”

Very comfortable, relaxing and have a lovely "feel". We had everything provided that we needed, as dog owners, we have never felt so welcome. This is a true little gem of a site and we would thoroughly recommend this site to dog owners. The walks near the site are beautiful, woods, fields, etc. We look forward to visiting again.

The bed was comfortable (memory foam),good shower and kitchen facilities. Location was good base for travelling to Avebury and Bath. Good parking space right outside cabin. The 'B' roads are wide enough for 2 cars in the area.

You have to take dog out onto busy country road and along to field to walk dog. Late night walk before bed needs a torch.

Take a bag of carrots for the resident ponies! The dog was also made welcome and there were plenty of places to walk them. There are local takeaways that will deliver and the nearby pubs serve excellent food.

“The Chalet is a lovely, clean kept accommodation and was great for our dog.”

The owner was very welcoming upon arrival at the chalet and gave us a nice showing around the accommodation. Our dog suffers with juvenile arthritis and the chalet is all 1 level which made it easy for him to get around and for us to be able to keep an eye on him. Overall, The Chalet was a great little stay and we would definitely return there again.

The property

Royal Wootton Bassett 3 miles.

A cosy, energy-efficient detached timber lodge, set in a rural position in the hamlet of Bushton, within easy reach of the pretty towns and villages of Wiltshire and the southern Cotswolds.

The Chalet is situated within the grounds of the owners home and stables, and is set solely on the ground floor with one bedroom with a comfy king-size bed and a luxury en-suite shower room.

The open plan living area has a large sofa, a dining area and a well-equipped kitchen, perfect for preparing meals when youre not barbecuing on the patio.

On summer evenings, open up the double doors from the living room that lead onto the patio and watch the ponies in the stables.

There is a pub and lots of takeaways in Lynham, less than two miles away, so if you dont fancy cooking you dont have to travel far for something tasty!

If you wish to take your four legged friend with you there are two pet-friendly pubs just three miles away.

The area has many walking trails and cycle routes to try nearby, and it is also well-placed for days out to National Trust properties and attractions.

Be sure to visit Avebury, the Uffintgton White Horse, Calstone and Cherhill Downs, Ashdown House and Stonehenge.

The old market towns of Royal Wootton Basset and Marlborough are just three and 10 miles away respectively, and perfect for perusing antique shops and perhaps enjoying a cream tea.

For a day out further afield, why not visit the dreaming spires of Oxford or the magnificent Georgian city of Bath?

This delightful lodge is an ideal base for couples to explore the Wiltshire and Cotswold countryside and the many splendid attractions in this wonderful area.

ROYAL WOOTTON BASSETT

Swindon 6.7 miles; Malmesbury 10.7 miles; Bath 31 miles.

Situated at the southern end of the Cotswold Hills, in rural northern Wiltshire and close to the border with Gloucestershire, the friendly market town of Royal Wootton Bassett can be found. The town was granted Royal patronage in 2011, due to the part it played in the repatriation of military personnel who sadly lost their lives serving their country overseas. It boasts a weekly market and offers a good selection of local shops and inns, providing an ideal touring base from which to explore the attractions of Wiltshire and beyond. The town is close to the historic Lydiard Park, Bowood and Longleat, with the ancient sites of Avebury and Stonehenge nearby.
