The owners were really friendly but also left you to it to enjoy your holiday. The Nook was really comfortable and clean and great for our four-legged friend and the patio area outside is perfect as our dog could potter around. Wifi was excellent as we need to work at the same as having a break. Highly recommend visiting and would definitely return.

The accommodation had everything we needed for the week, the king size bed was great and the air con was a Godsend as it was very warm the week we visited. We would very much recommend the Nook and would definitely stay again.

  • "The Nook is a such a lovely place to stay."

The lodge has all the facilities I needed and was warm, clean and comfortable. It is a very dog friendly place and there is a off lead walk just opposite the house. There are also numerous great local walks. The owners were so helpful and welcoming and have gone above and beyond to help me enjoy my stay. The welcome pack was also just such a lovely and generous touch. The whole place is immaculately kept and feels so well cared for. I also took trips to see Avebury, the Ridgeway, Waylands Smithy and West Kennet Long Barrow as well as Uffington White Horse, all a short drive from The Nook. Lovely stay and can’t wait to return!

  • "Used the property whilst visiting my local in-laws."

Lovely little ‘chalet’ type timber accommodation in a relaxing and welcoming setting. Perfect for 2 for a short break to explore the local countryside. Lovely surprise to be greeted with a bottle of wine and box of chocolates upon arrival. Kept in touch (via text) with ‘Jan’, and whilst she was never intrusive or overbearing at all, she readily answered any query I had. Enjoyed talking to the resident ponies ‘Dynamite’ and ‘Tyson’ each morning and it was lovely to be able to give them their banana ‘treat’ at the start of the day. Thanks to Jan and family.

  • "A wonderful short mid-week break for myself and the dog."

The Nook was lovely and clean on arrival, and as others have mentioned there was a little gift for me and the dog when we arrived. Check in was easy, instructions to arrive were simple to follow and we had no issues finding the property. The Nook is wonderfully comfy and has everything you need to enjoy the week. We will definitely return. There were walks we could do directly from the property, but there is also so much to explore nearby. We never drove more than 30 minutes to get somewhere and had a number of places to choose from for nice dog walks. Just remember to pack your wellies or walking boots for exploring the area.

There are plenty of lovely places to discover in the nearby vicinity. It’s a quiet cottage with minimal road traffic, and the presence of farm animals such as ponies, ducts, and chickens make it a very unique experience. The cottage was in a very clean condition and contained all the basic items needed for self-catering. The owners were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an enjoyable break – and it’s also perfect for a dog as there is a big green field nearby for some nice relaxing walks.

  • "There were two serious trip hazards in the front of the property."

One a step and two a slope, where a fence had been added and the trip hazards not removed. You said that there was a barbecue. It was not provided. Carpet looked tired and needed a clean. No vacuum cleaner or any cleaning materials or equipment to clean the property. Also it should be noted that I could not reach the owners on the numbers you made available. These need updating. Shame because it was an ideal location.

Thank you for your feedback, the hazards have been looked at and have been deemed safe. they are shown within the photos. I'm sorry you feel that way with the carpet this is cleaned regularly with carpet cleaners. Property Owner

The only downfall was the mattress on the bed it was far to soft felt as though it hadn’t been turned regularly or was passed it, could do with a new one. Would definitely love to stop here again it is very quiet considering Janet and her husband have hens, duck and horses Janet and her husband are a lovely friendly couple. We visited loads of places whilst on holiday and the weather for April was gorgeous.

Thank you for feedback. The owner has taken onboard your comments with the mattress. As a result, the owner has replaced with a brand new sprung foam mattress. Property Owner

Situated at the southern end of the Cotswold Hills, in rural northern Wiltshire and close to the border with Gloucestershire, the friendly market town of Royal Wootton Bassett can be found. The town was granted Royal patronage in 2011, due to the part it played in the repatriation of military personnel who sadly lost their lives serving their country overseas. It boasts a weekly market and offers a good selection of local shops and inns, providing an ideal touring base from which to explore the attractions of Wiltshire and beyond. The town is close to the historic Lydiard Park, Bowood and Longleat, with the ancient sites of Avebury and Stonehenge nearby. The coastal resorts of Weston-super-Mare and Burnham-on-Sea are just over an hour's drive for anyone wanting to dip their toes in the sea. Visit the charming town of Malmesbury and the Cotswold Water Park and with the historic cities of Bath, Oxford and Salisbury all easily accessible, this area really makes an interesting touring centre at any time of the year.
