  • "The whole family, three generations of us, enjoyed our stay so much, that we have already booked another holiday at The Barn for next April."

Many thanks to the owners, Jane and David, who did everything they could to make our holiday as comfortable as possible.

Thankyou! We are looking forward to seeing you again next year! Property Owner

  • "Gorgeous barn, very well stocked with everything you need."

Could do with a couple more oil radiators as it was a cold weekend and a couple of the bedrooms were chilly. Loved all the animals around us and fab that we could go see them whenever we wanted (got to see a lamb being born

Oh no! I am so sorry you were a bit chilly…. For future guests please ask, we are close by and there are plenty of spare heaters on the farm. However I cannot promise another lambing floor show, we had a ewe in difficulty and we managed to deliver a lovely healthy lamb! Property Owner

  • "The Barn was absolutely beautiful."

The open plan layout was perfect for hosting our large group of 11 + a labrador and husky. The beds were super comfy and plenty of space for all of us. The location was stunning and we went for a lovely walk on Saturday and met some of the farm animals. It would have been nice to have the option for an earlier check in as 6pm was quite late and we would have liked more time to enjoy the Barn. But overall a lovely stay and we would definitely recommend. I've already shared the link with my friends and encouraged them to check out

That’s so nice that you had a good time here. Sorry we weren’t about to say goodbye, the rare sunshine lured us to the seaside. Thanks for coming and hope the wedding goes really well. Property Owner

  • "Getting ready for a family reunion or looking for a holiday to cater for a large group?"

Look no further! The Barn is accessible, comfortable open plan accommodation with a well-equipped kitchen, loads of comfy sofas and brilliant bedroom layout. Right at the centre of the home is the show-stopping wood burning stove, which we rarely let go out during our stay at the end of February! Our party included 5 different households, a number of small children and a dog. We found the bedrooms worked well for multiple households, with two lots of twin beds and a travel cot provided. The kitchen had plenty of cooking utensils, dishes, pans, crockery etc. as well as some cupboard essentials and lots of fridge/freezer storage. We easily catered for our 13 guests! The dining table fitted all of us round it at a squeeze, with additional seating at the kitchen island and on the sumptuous XXL sofa in front of the stove! The wifi connection was great, TVs worked to hook up a Nintendo Switch and plenty of plug sockets for us to decorate the whole place with fairy lights (which looked AMAZING, highly recommend this as a permanent feature round the wood beams!). Lots of helpful bits like a hair dryer and tea towels too. Around the farm itself there's ample parking, cross country walks on your doorstep, a menagerie of animals and the fantastic hosts. Jane and David were on hand whenever we needed assistance, very friendly and amenable. One of our holiday highlights was a tour of the farm and helping to feed the animals - including the two cheeky alpacas! Albert the farm dog was also a big hit and we were happy to give him lots of love! Overall, we found The Barn worked brilliantly for a large, family group. If you're looking for a luxury getaway, this isn't for you. Definitely a lived in, well loved home. But perfect for not stressing about kids/dog! Clean, comfy, excellent hosts and a really fun, welcoming location. Would 100% book here again! Thanks for a fantastic family holiday!

Aaw, thankyou so much! We are really chuffed about your comments! Your descriptive skills are spot on, it’s a home! Hope to see you again one day. Take care, David and Jane Property Owner

There were 12 of us for a family stay and we all had the best time. The house is perfectly clean and has everything you need for a getaway. We were given a tour of the farm which everyone, both young and old enjoyed. The hosts were lovely, so helpful and friendly and couldn't be more hospitable. They even provided burgers free of charge for a lovely birthday tea! The layout is perfect for a family meet up, with enough room for the children to play and the adults to have a relaxed time. We had a great time and will definitely be back!! Thanks for a fab stay!!

  • "There was eleven of us that met at the Barn last weekend."

The barn was adequate for our needs and was in a great location for local dog walks. We walked to the local pub for drinks and food on both days, which was dog friendly. We had trouble locating scissors and didn’t manage to locate additional crockery until 24 hours into the trip. The eleven us snuggly fitted around the dining table, but we managed. A couple of guests missed having mirrors in their bedrooms, but the beds were comfy and showers nice and hot, although tricky to get the right temperature. The Barn has a great open plan layout for us all to socially gather and enjoy our company.

  • "We enjoyed our holiday at the Barn but we where disapointed at the size of the garden, it was discribed as large."

We would say that it is small for the size of property. We had issues with the shower in the main bathroom, it was either cold or very hot. We spoke to the friendly owner Jane who said she would get her handy man to look at it. But it did not happen. We had to take showers kneeling in the bath tub. Our party included a master builder and an engineer and they could not get any satisfactory adjustment with shower. These are relativley minor issues and we would book the Barn again.

  • "As a large extended family we had a great holiday at the barn."

The house is lovely and the setting on the farm was ideal for all of us especially the one year old and the dog. The isolated location is ideal at the current difficult times but there is plenty to do a short drive away particularly in Malmsbury. We enjoyed the garden and the bar-b-que was enhanced by the farms home produced burgers and sausages. It was so lovely to walk out the door in the morning and see the hens, ducks, rheas, alpacas etc. Many thanks to Jane and David for making it such a great holiday.

  • "We had an absolutely fantastic stay in the Barn for my friend's hen do."

It's a great open plan space so you never feel like your group is split across several rooms or too separated. The kitchen is really well equipped and the bedrooms are all very cosy and warm. There is plenty of parking and things within easy reach - we popped into Chippenham and Castle Combe while we were there which were both lovely, but mainly just chilled in the barn, as it's such a fantastic space. When I was looking for a place to accommodate our group of 10, I struggled to find somewhere that had a table and chairs for that many people even though it had the right number of beds, but the Barn had plenty of space for everyone which was a relief. There are only two bathrooms (and one of those is a small ensuite) which was absolutely fine for us, but might not be suitable for different groups. The owners were absolutely lovely too - so flexible and laid back and keen to check that we had everything we needed but also willing to give us our own space. They even gave us an impromptu tour of the farm on Sunday morning and introduced us to all the animals! Apparently their son usually takes guests all around the farm and does a proper tour if you give them a bit of notice, so great for small children!

  • "We had a great stay at The Barn."

It was the perfect social space for our team get-together. It is in a good location with plenty to do in the surrounding area. The Barn is well equipped and we all agreed the beds were very comfy. We especially enjoyed using the wood burner and pellet burner, and it was fun to see Llamas on the doorstep and Peacocks in the garden. We were warmly welcomed on arrival and felt that any issues would be easily dealt with if we needed assistance. We would stay here again if the occasion arose.

Especially the wood-fired stove in the middle of it made it extremely cosy. The owners were very kind, they showed us around, we got to meet all the animals, our food waste was a treat for the pigs... :) Apart from coffee, milk, tea and towels, they also offer homemade food and meat which is great! It was the perfect city escape!
