  • "This is a very comfortable, clean cottage, and includes everything you would need."

Owner (next door) and his family very helpful. Views to rear are fantastic. The only one thing that would improve it, is the addition of a washing machine.

Thank you for your lovely feedback. It was nice to meet you. We always had a washing machine in there but we’re advised by Sykes to replace it with a dishwasher instead. We will take on board your feedback regarding a washing machine and look further into this with regards to plumbing etc. Hope to see you again the future. Thank you Property Owner

  • "We spent a week with our son at Annex Chetnole over the Summer Bank Holiday period."

The perfect location for us being close to Bristol and well within striking distance of Wells, Bath and Weston Super Mare. There are plenty of more local attractions. We spent half a day at Chew Valley Lake and the nearby village of Chew Magna. The Dundry Arms and The Blue Bowl served excellent food and are both well worth a visit. The property met all our needs, was spacious and the beds were very comfortable. The kitchen had all the consumables and equipment that we have at home with the exception of a washing machine. A nice touch was the Dolce Gusto coffee machine along with a selection of pods. The decked patio was a lovely place to relax with great views in all directions. The owner Richard was very friendly and always available on the rare occasions that we needed him. The welcome pack of fresh milk and eggs was very well received. We would definitely consider revisiting in future.

Thank you for your lovely feedback. Pleased that you enjoyed your stay and made the best of your visit. It was lovely to meet you all. Look forward to seeing you again in future. Property Owner

  • "The Annex was lovely, very well kitted out with everything you could need."

Richard had even bought fans for every bedroom which was very much appreciated as it was very hot the week we were there and I don't think we would have slept well without them. The kids enjoyed the trampoline and slide that are there too. Richard is lovely and always on hand if you have any problems. A lovely stay in a very peaceful location. We would definitely return.

The property

In Dundry, at the northern part of the Mendip Hills, between Bristol and the Chew Valley Lake is this lovely dormer style holiday home, Annexe Chetnole.

Enjoying a superb location attached to the owner’s home, with lovely views and easy access to the stunning Mendip Hills AONB and the bustling city of Bristol, Annexe Chetnole is a fantastic dwelling for couples or a family of four.

Looking forward to whipping up flavourful meals in the well-equipped kitchen/diner, featuring a handy dishwasher, ready to enjoy at the dining table for four over a bottle of wine.

After dinner, why not catch the last of the day’s rays out in the garden, where little ones can play on the small slide and with the toys kindly provided, or gather around the fire pit to toast marshmallows?

As the evening cools, retire to the sitting room, where you can snuggle up on the plush leather sofas and enjoy a family favourite on the Smart TV, as the electric fire adds a gentle glow and warmth to the space.

As your eyes grow heavy, climb the stairs up to the first floor where you can choose from three well-appointed bedrooms to catch your rest in, a double and two singles, all of which have plenty of storage for your belongings.

In the morning, prepare for the day in style in the bathroom, where you can enjoy a soak in the bath which features a handheld shower, before setting out for a day of adventure.

Explore your local surroundings, where nearby you will find the welcoming eateries of The Carpenters Tavern and The Dundry Inn, ideal for those evening’s when you don’t feel like cooking!

Continue on to Bishopsworthy, where the keen golfers in your party can test out their swing at the nearby Woodspring Golf & Country Club, or if that isn’t your thing, why not enjoy a leisurely stroll or cycle through the scenic Manor Woods Valley or a picnic in the picturesque Victoria Park?

Continue on to the thriving city of Bristol, where you can visit the historic 19th-century Brunel’s SS Great Britain, meet the local marine life at the Bristol Aquarium, marvel at the remarkable Bristol Cathedral, or wander up to the 18th-century Clifton Observatory where you can enjoy panoramic views over the Victorian Clifton Suspension Bridge.

Other attractions within the city include the Bristol Hippodrome, the Bristol Museum & Art Gallery, Bristol Zoo Gardens, and the annual Bristol Balloon Fiesta which takes place over several days every August.

For further excellent walking and cycling opportunities, take the short drive over to the Mendip Hills AONB, where you can embark on a hike along the renowned Cheddar Gorge, or visit the Mendip Activity Centre where you can try your hand at a wealth of activities including, caving, bushcraft, kayaking and tobogganing.

Further afield you will find the historic city of Bath, home to The Roman Baths, The Jane Austen Centre, and the National Trust site of Prior Park Landscape Garden.

All this and more awaits at Annexe Chetnole.
