  • "Brilliant lovely & extremely well situated cottage."

10 out of 10! (Our dogs loved watching the river!).

Thank you very much for your feedback. It is always good to hear that pets enjoy their stay too. Best wishes, Nick and Hilary Property Owner

  • "We absolutely loved Avonside Cottage and had a wonderful weekend break."

Instructions were accurate and easy to follow. We loved the quirkiness of the surroundings and the cottage. It was so very quiet and had everything we needed with a great welcome pack and all the basics for cooking, relaxation and so very dog friendly - home from home. And yet close to everything we wanted to do. Thank you. Just a couple of pointers which would have completed the perfection - 1. A few of coat hooks perhaps by the door 2. Consider a new mattress for the double bed. We would return anytime and have already recommended to friends.

We are glad that you enjoyed your stay. Thank you for your feedback and we will take note of the points you raised. Best wishes Hilary and Nick Property Owner

  • "Very smart cottage, clean and very comfortable."

Lots of interesting local information available in the cottage. We stayed at New Years so the garden was not used but in the summer, with some sun, it could be lovely, as it has a great view across the water. The village of Pill if very accessible from the M5 motorway and just 5 mins away. The garden faces up river and is surrounded by other cottages. The village is on the Avon Trail, c. 7 miles from Clifton via the river and c. 2 miles to the George pub which does good food. A really perfect stay for a quiet retreat. Thanks

Many thanks for your very positive feedback and we are glad that you enjoyed your stay. All good wishes for 2022. Nick and Hilary Property Owner

The area and park close to the property was very dog friendly, The cottage was well positioned for visiting Cheddar, Bath, Bristol and the coast. One small problem, the beds were too small and not very comfortable.

As a family we all commented on how well equipped the cottage was and felt very safe during these uncertain time as the cleanliness was to a very high standard and fully equipped with PPE at hand. It is certainly a little gem, with views across the river and having breakfast in the morning sunshine on the little patio will be a lasting memory, just beautiful!

  • "Lovely clean cottage on banks of the Avon with pleasant view ."

Quiet location but near local small shops . Pill is not far off the motorway. Good communication from the owner. Sykes however did not apply the government’s VAT reduction and declined my cash back through Quidco (£25) which they are happy to advertise, but this is not the owner’s fault.

Many thanks for your feedback and I'm glad you enjoyed your stay, I am aware Sykes have responded to you separately regarding your VAT query. Property Owner

  • "Avonside is a beautiful cottage, the conversion is innovative, well designed and executed, the photographs don't really do it justice."

It is in a stunning location right alongside The Avon with a pretty enclosed garden, safe for the dog. We were met by a generous "welcome pack" with everything to start off our visit, and there are local pubs and shops, including an excellent Co-Op within short walking distance. Pill itself is a charming village with an interesting history.Several of the pubs in Pill do food, but we had an excellent Christmas lunch in relaxed surroundings at the Rudgleigh Inn, a short drive away in Easton in Gordano. We booked a Christmas Eve visit to the National Trust's "Christmas at Tyntesfield" which was very special, and enjoyed a long walk at Kings Weston House where the dog friendly cafe provided a very welcome retreat from the rain. Just above the cottage there is a large open area, accessed just below the viaduct, for great walks hence a very happy dog. There are many towns and places to visit in north Somerset, visits to family and friends in the area took up much of our time, we will have to make a return visit. Access to the house is via steps but good hand rails are provided, and parking is a short distance away. The cottage provided very comfortable accommodation and everything we needed for a very relaxing stay. Thank you, we will return.
