“It is a very nice cottage but for 2 of us it was too small.”
The shower room was good but the bedroom is so small that it was hard to walk round the bed and there is no room for storage or clothes. The lounge/kitchen room is also small with insufficient room to store food.
A dishwasher rather than a washing machine would be usefull especially as there is very limited kitchen workspace.
The TV is quite old, small with very poor sound. A few more games would also help.
Finally the large window has no blind so there is little privacy although it is unlikely anyone will be walking by. On the friday morning though there were 2 gardeners mowing and strimming grass outside the window - also quite loud.
Although Priston is quite a nice village the pub is very disappointing, empty and is usually closed.
This cottage is expensive for its size.
"We are very sorry you were unhappy with your stay. Pheasant Cottage has
been specifically and carefully designed as a cozy country get-away with
new appliances and state of the art underfloor heating, fine art on the
walls, comfortable surroundings, etc.
The huge window looks down a private valley which is part of our property
and as you say no one walks past so blinds would be both impractical and
unnecessary. As the Cottage is so popular our ground staff do have to
maintain the property frequently, but always try to keep any disturbance to
a minimum. We are sorry that you found the village pub disappointing. As
you will have noticed from our Visitors Book previous guests find the food
and atmosphere at the pub one of the highlights of their stay in the
village. Pricing is competitive given the care and attention that goes
into our property which is maintained and managed to a high standard."
