We found it challenging on wet dark nights seeing the farm sign and drove past on two occasions so a reflective strip of some kind on the sign would assist greatly

nice touch leaving biscuits but tea bags and milk for a cuppa on arrival would be nice and a couple of spare toilet rolls would not go amiss otherwise lovely

  • "Had a great holiday, the accommodation was perfect although the bed was harder than what we are used to, but that is just our opinion."

The owners very friendly but not at all in your face. The location was good for us as we have family in the county. If however it's a sight seeing break that is needed, then Rode Farm is perfect.

  • "Lovely cottage, wonderfully placed for many attractions, including Glastonbury, Lacock, Wells, Bath and Longleat, all of which we visited."

Although listed as a cattle farm, which it primarily is, they also have racehorses stabled there, which the owners will allow you to stroke when they are in their stables. Had a meal at the local pub and food was very good A fantastic base for visiting this lovely and very interesting area.

  • "Cottage was as good as advertised and excellent hostess."

Only possible improvement would be somewhere to walk but appreciate that this would be difficult on a working farm. Sykes recommendation poor due to no response to query on different property when phone number provided twice as instructed.

And couldn’t find any firefighters. Didn’t spoil our stay one little bit, loved the cottage, so cozy with the wood burner going. Would recommend 100%.

Thank you so much for your feedback, apologies for the missing firelighters, an oversight by myself. Radiators do get checked but perhaps not often enough, it will be noted. So glad you enjoyed your stay, hope to welcome you again. Regards Sarah (Property owner) Property Owner

About the location

RODE

Bradford-on-Avon 4 miles; Frome 5; Trowbridge 5; Bath 10 miles.

The attractive village of Rode sits on the Somerset side of the Wiltshire/Somerset border, and was once well known for its connections with brewing and the woollen industry, with several mills still dotted alongside the River Frome. In the 19th century, the village was the scene of an infamous murder, which inspired the book and TV film of The Suspicions of Mr. Whicher. Today it offers a tranquil, quintessential village setting with two pubs, a useful Post Office and store, and lovely walks into the surrounding countryside, along the nearby Macmillan Way. An easy drive takes you to the delightful, historic town of Bradford-on-Avon, from where you can take boat trips along the Kennet and Avon Canal, or explore the beautiful, cosmopolitan city of Bath. A little further afield, a trip to Wells Cathedral, mystical Glastonbury or the ethereal caves at Cheddar and Wookey Hole will not disappoint. Rode offers visitors a convenient and charming holiday base, at any time of year.
