  • "Property was clean and in good order, we have stayed in many holiday cottages and this was above average, a couple of points that I feel could do with attention, we found food left in the microwave, toast, bacon, sausage, lucky we used the microwave the first day if not it would have got very smelly."

Also some of the crockery had chips, a mug and a plate. And although it didn’t affect the stay the flatware was mis matched. Such a shame in a very nice property, this wouldn’t stop us booking this place again. One small issue we find in all cottages is the lack of a night light. As your not familiar with the layout finding your way to the loo in the middle of the night when you half a sleep and not wasting to turn lights on do not to disturb your partner is difficult, we normally take one on this occasion there was not a socket for us to use. I post this in hope that some landlords might consider installing.

Thank you so much for your feedback. We're sharing it with our team because we all want to improve our guests' experience. We hope to welcome you back sometime! Property Owner

Will agree with other reviewers that it needs a little TLC but it provided us with a quiet comfy base to explore local area so no complaints from us! Milk& biscuits on arrival much appreciated, thank you.

  • "Lovely little bungalow very comfortable and well equipped."

Well situated in a quiet residential area. Garden was nice if a little neglected. Unfortunately the decking has lots of rotten areas and felt very unsafe and needs replacing urgently before someone falls through it. 1 of the pillow covers in the main bedroom has dried blood stains.

  • "The property is becoming rundown and tired."

There is chipped kitchen floor tiles and the kitchen units are very worn. The oven was filthy and looked like parts of it were being held together with some sort of blue tack. The inside of the microwave was dirty too. We didn't use the dishwasher, so we don't know what state that was in. The kitchen and bathroom floor tiles were really dirty. The laminate flooring throughout the property was dirty too. We spent part of our first morning sweeping and hoovering all the floors, including under beds etc. We swept up so much debris. The sofas had debris and dog fur on them. We hoovered them as well as we could. We then got on our hands and knees and tried to clean the kitchen and bathroom floor tiles with hot soapy water. Not the best start to our holiday. The water was dark brown. The grouting needs a scrubbing brush to sort it out, but we certainly weren't going to do that. There was too much laminate flooring to clean. The mop provided was dirty, so all we would have done was push the dirt around. The bathroom wall tiles and the shower screen need black mould and limescale removed from them. The back door is ancient. The front door sounds like you are entering a haunted house. The double glazed window in the lounge has blown. The driveway is full of weeds etc. The decking is very springy. The back garden is the local cat toilet. We had to regularly hose the cat poo away so our 2 dogs didn't try to eat it. The walls are grubby and marked. The visitor information book says the property is in the progress of being sorted out. It certainly does not say that on your online details. If it had, we would never have booked it. The property has such great potential to be lovely given it's layout, garden and position. it is such a shame it has been allowed to get so bad. We have rented out lots of holiday cottages over the years and never had such problems with cleanliness etc. We were very disappointed.

Thank you for the feedback. We are very sorry to hear that your stay was disappointing. We appreciate all the details you have mentioned and will discuss them with our team. Although the property is old, we would like our guests to find it clean and welcoming. Property Owner

  • "Overall the property was lovely but it could do with a bit of TLC."

the kitchen floor is chipped, the garden decking is very flexible and feels like it will break under you and the garden needs some looking after. Both myself and my daughter felt the property had a dog smell to it when we first entered.

  • "We had a lovely stay at this property, thanks for the very generous welcoming pack."

Great house and gardens which our 2 dogs loved. Great walks in the forest not far away.Handy for the Severn View pub, which was nice but could do with some heating! If you take a walk to town (20 mins) don't expect a taxi back, they don't exist,so a good 45 uphill walk. Overall a lovely home in a quiet location.

  • "I have already done this, the owner needs to properly deal with the driveway issue as we were unable the access the drive & therefore unable to use this holiday let, I am sure it would of been OK, but no on or offroad road parking is of no use to us, plus the likely hood of damage to the underside of our vehicle is not a good idea."

Thank you for your feedback. The drive way repair has now been completed. so we hope we can see you again sometime. Property Owner

  • "The bungalow is very nice, clean and comfy, welcome pack of milk, cheese's, tea, coffee and biscuits were brilliant."

The garden at the rear is enclosed and great for dogs. A few minor maintenance issues were found, but this is a new project and the owners have already supplied new dishwasher, washer/dryer, and fridge freezer. I presume the cooker and hood are next on their list. The only drawback is access into the driveway if you have a low car, with a sleeping policeman type hump to start followed by a steep concrete drive. To be fair the owners imformed us the day before our arrival, a bit late to be fair, it should be mentioned in the details before purchasing the holiday, Sykes gave us the wrong keycode to the keybox, with only 3 digits, after travelling from Scotland that day it was not helpful. Confusion followed trying to contact the owner and Sykes, but access was eventually gained. Hopefully the records have been amended for future clients. Overall though a very nice holiday property.

Thank you for staying at our bungalow. We're glad you found the property very nice overall and we really appreciate your very useful feed back which has enabled us to improve the experience for future guests. The grill and oven have been sorted and although we can't change the overall slope of the drive we've been able to adjust the profile so lower cars can come in without fear of grounding. It's good to know that the garden works well for dogs and that you enjoyed the local cheese! Property Owner
