  • "I have already done this, the owner needs to properly deal with the driveway issue as we were unable the access the drive & therefore unable to use this holiday let, I am sure it would of been OK, but no on or offroad road parking is of no use to us, plus the likely hood of damage to the underside of our vehicle is not a good idea."

Thank you for your feedback. The drive way repair has now been completed. so we hope we can see you again sometime. Property Owner

  • "This cottage couldn't have suited our needs any better!"

I was tasked to find somewhere for a family meet up in the middle location wise, accessable, parking, garden, dog friendly for 4 adults and 2 children! This property was perfect! I loved the little touches that had been thought of , bread, milk, butter, biscuits, tea and coffee etc! It had everything we needed! And the beds were so comfortable, I will be asking what the mattress is! Thank you for a lovely stay in your cottage.

  • "Lovley comfertable cottage, we really liked the fact that you provided more than 6 of cups, plates etc it means you don't have to keep washing up every time you have a cup of tea."

you might want to advise people to reverse the car into the drive, this way the hump is not a problem. only thing that was missing was a washing line.

It was central to where we like to visit. Shops close by and some lovely places to eat. We recommend The Cross in Alburton a village quite close to Lydney.

  • "The bungalow is very nice, clean and comfy, welcome pack of milk, cheese's, tea, coffee and biscuits were brilliant."

The garden at the rear is enclosed and great for dogs. A few minor maintenance issues were found, but this is a new project and the owners have already supplied new dishwasher, washer/dryer, and fridge freezer. I presume the cooker and hood are next on their list. The only drawback is access into the driveway if you have a low car, with a sleeping policeman type hump to start followed by a steep concrete drive. To be fair the owners imformed us the day before our arrival, a bit late to be fair, it should be mentioned in the details before purchasing the holiday, Sykes gave us the wrong keycode to the keybox, with only 3 digits, after travelling from Scotland that day it was not helpful. Confusion followed trying to contact the owner and Sykes, but access was eventually gained. Hopefully the records have been amended for future clients. Overall though a very nice holiday property.

Thank you for staying at our bungalow. We're glad you found the property very nice overall and we really appreciate your very useful feed back which has enabled us to improve the experience for future guests. The grill and oven have been sorted and although we can't change the overall slope of the drive we've been able to adjust the profile so lower cars can come in without fear of grounding. It's good to know that the garden works well for dogs and that you enjoyed the local cheese! Property Owner

The small, thriving town of Lydney is situated between the eastern edge of the Forest of Dean and the River Severn in Gloucestershire. Lydney has a very good range of shops, a leisure centre and sports facilities, as well as pubs, cafes and restaurants serving a wide variety of meals. The magnificent Royal Forest of Dean, England's largest oak forest and an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, boasts numerous trails that can be explored on foot, by bike or on horseback. Caving, abseiling and a high wire rope course are for the more adventurous, whilst fishing, golf, kayaking and canoeing are other popular activities in this unspoilt area. The ancient caves of Clearwell are nearby, as are the Gloucestershire Way and Offa's Dyke Path. Symonds Yat boasts natural scenery and straddles the beautiful River Wye with its magnificent limestone outcrop, popular with climbers, and well-known for its viewpoint. Visit the nearby historic walled town of Chepstow with its impressive Norman Castle and the celebrated racecourse, whilst the pretty market town of Monmouth, with its mixture of elegant Georgian mansions and Victorian courtyards, or the lovely town of Ross-on-Wye with its timbered Tudor houses and delightful riverside walks, both offer excellent shops, pubs and restaurants. The unspoilt Brecon Beacons National Park and Black Mountains, as well as lovely Cotswold towns and villages are just a little further afield as are the cities of Cheltenham, Gloucester, Cardiff, Newport, and just across the Severn Bridge, Bristol and Bath.
