  • "We had a wonderful stay at Flynn’s barn and would definitely come back again."

The hosts were very helpful in telling us about extra parking spaces before our visit, and let us know how to contact them if needed. The cottage is situated in an isolated area as described, but you can take a nice walk through the countryside to the nearest village to visit the pub. We hadn’t realised prior to booking that the neighbouring property (Hetty’s) is actually attached to Flynn’s barn (maybe it is mentioned somewhere and we missed it)! This didn’t cause us any issues as those occupying the neighbouring cottage were quiet and kept to themselves, so no complaints!

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are very pleased that you enjoyed your stay and were so well looked after. Thank you for the tip about the walk to the local pub. Best wishes Manor Cottages Property Owner

  • "Such a wonderful stay!"

The cottage is out of the way which provides a nice relaxing break away. There were seven of us staying (including a two year old) and the place was perfect for what we needed. Highly recommend if you are looking for a relaxing break within a short drive away from some of the most picturesque places in the uk.

  • "Spot on. Lovely place."

Accurately described. Follow directions and it's easy to find. We had a lovely weekend with the family. It is very isolated from facilities so walking out to the shops or pub is not a option. But that is described in the info anyway. We went prepared and had a Tesco shop delivered. We are all encouraged to recycle but every county seems to do something different so clearer instructions might be helpful by labelling the bins outside with what goes in each one. Megan and Nic were very easy to contact and attentive to little issues we had and very quickly resolved. Thank you for a lovely weekend.

Thank you for your feedback with regards to your stay at Flynn's Barn. It's lovely to hear how much you enjoyed your stay, it's a little spot of wonderful and we are glad you enjoyed it also. We will pass on your comments to the Owner with regards to updating the recycling information. We hope to welcome you back again very soon. Kind regards Manor Cottages. Property Owner

  • "The property is very cozy and well equipped."

The owners popped in to say hi and make sure we were doing ok, but otherwise gave us our privacy. My two adult sons, daughter-in-law and husband were visiting the area and were looking for a house central to various sites. It met our needs with the three bedrooms and three bathrooms, which was hard to find. The only drawback is how isolated it is. The listing said in the hamlet of Aylworth, and I assumed (my fault for not checking) that we would be in a small village with maybe a pub and a shop within walking distance. There was only a few houses in this hamlet so we had to drive for everything. I loved the walking trails where we met the local horses and herd of sheep. Overall, a very pleasant stay.

Thank you for your feedback regarding your stay at Flynn's Barn. It's a wonderful barn and it's great for a family/friend gathering. We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay and we hope to welcome you back again in the future. Kind regards Manor Cottages. Property Owner

  • "Had a lovely stay at Flynn’s Barn celebrating mum’s 70th."

The location is perfect. Nice and rural but easy to get to places. Walks from the door. The building is joined to another rental and has shared garden, frontage and driveway. Owners are also very close - just depends on what you are after from a holiday cottage. Very pleasant stay.

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with such lovely feedback on your stay at Flynn's Barn. We are so happy to hear you enjoyed your time away and were able to celebrate your Mum's 70th at this beautiful property! We hope that we can welcome you again one day soon, perhaps for another birthday celebration! Best wishes, Manor Cottages. Property Owner

Perfect for two families and a beautiful location. My only criticism is the Sykes booking app which isn't as good as Airbnb as you can't message through it.

The barn is very comfortable and well designed with a fully equipped kitchen. All bedrooms have en suites which is a bonus. The barn is in a lovely countryside location. There is a patio and garden, with sheep in the next field. There are even books and games, plus tourist information. We had a wonderful family break and highly recommend this property.

  • "We had a brilliant stay in the cottage."

Such a beautiful location and just a lovely place to relax. The house was well equipped with most of what we need, just missing little bits like bin bags and oven gloves to make it perfect. We spent time venturing out to villages around and had a gorgeous time in lower slaughter. The only issue we had was with taxis finding the barn due to the postcode being incorrect in the guest book as well as the what three words but after checking the postcode on email this was quickly corrected. We would definitely look to come back again

We're so pleased you had a lovely time at Flynn' Barn and had fun exploring the area. Thank you for comments which we will look into. We look forward to welcoming you again. Best wishes, Character Cottages Property Owner

Modern, clean, quiet lovely location. We were a little surprised to not find any foil & clingfilm (unless we missed this??) as self catering properties do usually have this and was much needed. Saying that, this would be the only negative, everything else was great

There is lots of space and each bedroom has it's own bathroom - and it is beautifully decorated too. There are 3 local villages just 30-40mins walk away with lovely pubs and if you have children, then the lovely Cotswold Farm Park is a 5min drive away. I would highly recommend Flynns Barn!

The host had made lovely scones for all the guests and even provided us with milk in the fridge. The only issue we experienced was poor internet connection but this is expected in such a remote area and plenty of board games and books were provided to compensate for this.

  • "I stayed in Flynn's Barn with some friends for a long weekend."

There are two very similar joined properties that are on the same land as the owners who are in the main house opposite. The house is newly built, with lots of old world charm, very clean and the facilities were good. There are 3 bedrooms with a large double downstairs, a master bedroom upstairs and a room with 4 single beds also upstairs. All the bedrooms have an ensuite with showers and a bath tub in the downstairs ensuite. The living space was comfortable and spacious enough to accommodate 6 adults. The location itself is beautiful with plenty of local pubs within a few miles. If you are thinking about this property, do it! I very much doubt that you would be disappointed!

Bedroom three is conveniently located on the ground floor and is situated perfectly for guests who have limited mobility; the room contains a welcoming king-size bed, hanging and drawer space, and benefits from an en-suite bathroom.

A staircase concealed behind a fire door in the sitting room leads up to the first floor where you will find two homely bedrooms; the master overlooks the lane and Windrush Valley in the distance through lovely dual aspect window, complete with an attractive king-size wooden sleigh bed and has a tastefully decorated walk-in shower room, the second bedroom located in the eaves of the property has beautiful countryside views and exposed wooden beams and contains four single beds, perfect for a family, with an en-suite walk-in shower room.

Enjoy your morning coffee amongst the wildlife and fresh air in the garden, which has a private patio area directly outside home to a table set, and Cotswold steps leading up to a raised lawn area which offers wonderful views of the surrounding countryside which guests are welcome to explore comprising of vast green fields and paddocks which make up the owners eight acres of grounds.

Once you’ve had some well-earned rest, head out for a scenic walk around Ayleworth or a more advanced walk along Cotswold Way which extends from the quintessentially English market town of Chipping Campden to the Roman city of Bath, at 102 miles long following the western edge of the Cotswold Hills, the route journeys through rolling pastures, beech woodland and honey-coloured villages built from Cotswold stone.

Head for a delicious meal in nearby Naunton at The Black Horse Inn which has a pleasant ambience and offers home-made, locally sourced food and lovely drinks.

Naunton has a beautiful river running through it, the River Windrush, which flows from Winchcombe and meets the Thames at Newbridge, passing through Bourton-on-the-Water, often referred to as the ‘Venice of the Cotswolds’ due to the low arched bridges that cross over the river, which has a variety of popular shops and attractions such as Cotswold Motoring Museum & Toy Collection and The Model Village – Bourton-on-the-Water in model form, and Greystones Farm & Nature Reserve, offering time out from the hustle and bustle of the village centre.

Make your way a little further North to the historic market town of Stow-on-the-Wold, where you can enjoy a farmers’ market which occurs every second Thursday of each month, featuring inviting local produce or you can brush up on your history at St Edward’s Parish Church, a stunning Grade l listed church with parts dating back to the 11th century.

About the location

NAUNTON

Bourton-on-the-Water 4 miles; Stow-on-the-Wold 5 miles.

Naunton is positioned on either sides of the River Windrush, making it very picturesque as any of its neighbours in the hills between Stow and Cheltenham. Mentioned in the Doomsday Book as Niwetone. The hill overlooking the town is great for climbing up and viewing the church and the village. The Black Horse Inn is the local pub which provides great views into the heart of the Cotswolds.

Note: The lawn area is shared with the neighbouring property.

Note: Horses can be stabled in the paddocks by prior arrangement with the owners.

Note: The property’s garden is not enclosed and as the shared lawn area is raised above the patio, young children should be supervised outside at all times due to the drop between the two levels.

Note: The first floor of the property is located in the eaves and therefore the rooms on this level have sloping ceilings which could pose difficulty to guests with limited mobility.

Note: Flynn’s Barn is a semi-detached property in the grounds of Aylworth Cottage where the owners live.
