The local population were all very friendly and helpful some suggesting walks for Bailey our beagle. A really lovely cottage.

The area was great, very rural and good for dog walking. It was great to have an enclosed garden for the dogs. Also a bonus having the owners living next door. They were very friendly and helpful when we needed them but not at all intrusive. We would like to return at some point in future.

“Located in a quiet hamlet with no shops it was lovely and quiet.”

Accommodation was clean and simple but comfortable. Owners were lovely. Bath and fireplace /heating was terrific. Great spot for travelling across the Cotswolds. Stayed a few night but wished we stayed the week. A great get away. Pet friendly with fenced front yard. Thumbs up. Remember to read the directions provided by email.

“Cotswold break”

Clean and tidy very dog friendly. Owners live next door and make you feel welcome. Knowledgeable about the surrounding area. There are no shops or pubs in the village and only one bus on a Thursday so a car is essential. Plenty of walks from the cottage and further afield. A good place to base yourself to explore the Cotswolds.

We had an enjoyable week the dogs loved the garden but there was not a lot to do if you are not into Tea rooms, national Trust houses & Chocolate box villages that were over crowded with no where to park .

Henmarsh Cottage is wonderful, pet friendly,cosy cottage set in glorious Cotswold countryside.

Located on the edge of a beautiful village and just 7 minutes from Moreton in Marsh and 10 minutes from Stow on the Wold.

There are stunning views creating a fabulous 'away from it all' spot that always has customers returning for more!

The cottage is converted from an old barn and has many character features incl exposed beams, wooden floors and a woodburning stove.

This is mixed with attractive contemporary touches - all adding to its charm.

In our opinion this cottage offers superb value in a cracking location with great walks from your doorstep- in fact a bridal path is directly opposite the cottage leading to miles of open countryside!

About the location

MORETON-IN-MARSH

Stow-on-the-Wold 4.5 miles; Bourton-on-the-Water 8 miles; Stratford-upon-Avon 16 miles; Cheltenham 23 miles; Oxford 31 miles.

The Saxon market town of Moreton-in-Marsh lies on the Fosse Way Roman Road in the northern Cotswolds and boasts many elegant 18th century buildings, which are home to traditional inns, serving real ales and home-cooked food, tea rooms, restaurants and individual shops to suit all tastes. It also boasts it's own train station and lies on the intersection of the Paddington rail line from London. The town hosts the Moreton-In-Marsh Show, one of the UK's largest one-day agricultural shows, as well as the Moreton Beer Festival, an annual French Market, and a large outdoor market every Tuesday. Many walks and cycle rides through the beautiful rolling countryside of the Cotswolds can be enjoyed from the centre of the town, with the Macmillan Way, Heart of England Way, Gloucestershire and Monarch's Way all running close by. Less than five miles away is Stow-on-the-Wold, the highest town in the Cotswolds. This ancient market town has played host to many fairs since the 12th century and today holds a biannual Gypsy Horse Fair, craft fairs and monthly farmers' market. Close by is Bourton-on-the-Water, which is known as the Venice of the Cotswolds as the River Windrush runs through the centre. It lies in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is one of the most popular Cotswold villages. Also within reach is the spa town of Cheltenham. This town boasts an incredible range of shops, cinemas, theatres, restaurants and pubs, and is famous for its horseracing festival in March, culminating in the Gold Cup steeplechase. Oxford, Stratford-upon-Avon, Bath, Worcester and the waterfront city of Gloucester are also within driving distance. A convenient base for exploring the Cotswolds and the wider area.
