The property met our needs & expectations, the reason that top marks were not given for comfort & facilities are - comfort - the sofa was not very comfortable, and facilities - I feel that the TV is too small

  • "The Retreat accommodation was excellent and very well set up for our needs providing very good facilities and homely touches."

We particularly appreciated the lovely lemon cake on arrival as well as a beautiful vase of flowers which made us feel most welcome. Bibury is a delightful village and we enjoyed our many walks around the local footpaths exploring many areas. I would highly recommended The Retreat to anyone wishing to spend time in Bibury. With much appreciation - Lyn and Rowan

  • "The only small thing that could be improved upon is the sofa which was not very comfortable to sit on."

Thank you for your comments, I wish to reassure all our past and future guests that the cushions on our lovely sofa have now been filled with super soft feathers making it comfortable once again. Thanks again, Owner's of The Retreat Property Owner

  • "Fantastic location."

Lovely apartment. Everything was exceptional. Lovely touches, cake and flowers on arrival. Hosts could not do enough to help when required. Bed amazing. A washing machine would have made it perfection for us. But not big problem. Would definitely stay there again and have told many people about it already.

About the location

BIBURY

Burford 9 miles; Bourton-on-the-Water 10 miles.

William Morris called Bibury ‘the most beautiful village in England” and today it is world famous as a village which best epitomises the English rural scene. At its centre is an outstanding Saxon church. So important is the village architecturally that the National Trust is closely involved in its preservation - Arlington Row, a row of weavers cottages was restored by the Trust in the 1970s and its distinctive roofline and gables are one of the most photographed scenes in the Cotswolds. The village has a selection of shops, pubs and tea rooms and a wider range of amenities are available in the nearby market town of Burford “Gateway to the Cotswolds”.
