  • "The garden flat is situated in a peaceful spot for a thoroughly relaxing break/holiday and is very comfortable."

Mike, the owner, has put a huge amount into the cottage and can't do enough for his guests

  • "We were really pleased with the accommodation - everything in 'The Garden Flat' was high quality and well-thought out."

We enjoyed the garden and we could sit out under the canopy even when it was raining, and take in the peace and the lovely view. Mike, the owner, went out of his way to make our 'anniversary' break enjoyable and special. He even offered to 'chauffeur' us to our anniversary meal. Thank you, Mike and we would love to stay here again.

  • "We spent a week relaxing under the pergola in the garden flat, looking onto the Forest of Dean, and came back feeling truly refreshed."

It’s a really unique place - characterful building, interiors and true inside-outside living. If you’re looking for nature and somewhere to decompress, this is the spot for you. The host is super helpful and the local area has great places to eat and explore. I’d come back in a heartbeat.

  • "The cottage itself is absolutely incredible, very nicely decorated, quiet and very well cleaned/maintained."

However the cherry on the top is the owner, Mike, who went above and beyond any expectations we had to make sure we enjoyed our stay and checked we had everything we needed. The garden area is fantastic, with seating and a nice firepit to sit, relax and unwind. Words could not describe how much we enjoyed this stay! Mike & Abby

Caving, abseiling and a high wire rope course can be enjoyed by the more adventurous, whilst fishing, golf, kayaking and canoeing are other popular activities available in this unspoilt area. The eerie caverns and ancient caves of Clearwell are close by, as are the Gloucestershire Way and Offa's Dyke Path for wonderful walks. Close by, Symonds Yat boasts natural scenery and straddles the beautiful River Wye with its magnificent limestone rock, popular with climbers, and well known for its viewpoint. Visit the historic town of Monmouth, which offers a fusion of elegant Georgian mansions and Victorian courtyards, or the lovely town of Ross-on-Wye with its timbered Tudor houses and delightful riverside walks, both home to excellent shops, pubs and restaurants. The unspoilt Malvern Hills, Brecon Beacon National Park and Black Mountains, as well as lovely Cotswold towns and villages are just a little further afield.
