    All we needed for a wonderful stay with our friends from the West Indies. It was clean, perfectly equipped and in beautiful park-like surroundings - we could see the stream from our window! Just right to relax in after a busy day visiting the charming Cotswold countryside and villages.

The property

A stone-built dwelling, resting within a series of former barns within the delightful village of Blockley.

After driving down a secluded, private drive you will be greeted to this character property, offering a spacious accommodation for a family gathering to the Cotswold.

The interior of the property offers a welcoming charm and a number of traditional features to quietly reflect the history of the dwelling.

After a busy day exploring, you will find a well-equipped kitchen housing all the necessities you will need throughout your stay, including a dishwasher, oven and grill and a utility with a washer/dryer.

Lounge during a winter’s evening within the sitting room, where sofas sit around a warming flame effect fire place and TV.

Follow the staircase up, where you will find three well-appointed bedrooms, comprising of two double bedrooms and a twin bedroom, perfect for hosting up to six guests.

Continuing to impress is the elegantly-presented family bathroom, where you can take a refreshing shower or a relaxing soak within the warming bath tub.

Soak up the sun within the garden’s private patio area to the rear of the property which is the ideal opportunity to enjoy a morning coffee within the peaceful location of the property.

Within a 5-minute walk, you will find an excellent village shop and café, and a wealth of pubs to sample an evening glass of wine.

To keep you busy whilst staying here, you will find Mill Dene Gardens close by, which is known as one of the most interesting gardens within the Cotswolds, where you can take a leisurely stroll whilst catching a glimpse of the trout, kingfishers and ducks.

Alternatively, you can visit the National Trust property of Snowshill manor, which is a beautiful 16th-century house with an outstanding garden.

Badger's Den is a perfect bolthole for a family holiday to the Cotswold.

MORETON-IN-MARSH

Stow-on-the-Wold 4.5 miles; Bourton-on-the-Water 8 miles; Stratford-upon-Avon 16 miles; Cheltenham 23 miles; Oxford 31 miles.

The Saxon market town of Moreton-in-Marsh lies on the Fosse Way Roman Road in the northern Cotswolds and boasts many elegant 18th century buildings, which are home to traditional inns, serving real ales and home-cooked food, tea rooms, restaurants and individual shops to suit all tastes. It also boasts it's own train station and lies on the intersection of the Paddington rail line from London. The town hosts the Moreton-In-Marsh Show, one of the UK's largest one-day agricultural shows, as well as the Moreton Beer Festival, an annual French Market, and a large outdoor market every Tuesday. Many walks and cycle rides through the beautiful rolling countryside of the Cotswolds can be enjoyed from the centre of the town, with the Macmillan Way, Heart of England Way, Gloucestershire and Monarch's Way all running close by. Less than five miles away is Stow-on-the-Wold, the highest town in the Cotswolds. This ancient market town has played host to many fairs since the 12th century and today holds a biannual Gypsy Horse Fair, craft fairs and monthly farmers' market. Close by is Bourton-on-the-Water, which is known as the Venice of the Cotswolds as the River Windrush runs through the centre. It lies in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is one of the most popular Cotswold villages. Also within reach is the spa town of Cheltenham. This town boasts an incredible range of shops, cinemas, theatres, restaurants and pubs, and is famous for its horseracing festival in March, culminating in the Gold Cup steeplechase. Oxford, Stratford-upon-Avon, Bath, Worcester and the waterfront city of Gloucester are also within driving distance. A convenient base for exploring the Cotswolds and the wider area.
