"What a fantastic house for a large group, our family travelled from all corners of England so it was a perfect area for us to meet and in a lovely relaxing rural setting."
The surrounding roads were small country lanes but they were very quiet if anyone is worried about them so not a problem. We did go to the Cottage of Content for a very nice meal which was only a couple miles away by car or 30 minute walk and worth a visit. The fact there is 2 lounges were great for youngsters to be in 1 and the older members of our family to be in a quieter room, plus the bonus of a large dining room to seat us all. The kitchen was very well equipped with a nice breakfast bar with stools for another area to gather and a big fridge/freezer to store everything and loads of work tops. The added bonus of the church games rooms worked really well especially for the youngsters, we were only there for 2/3 nights but if had been there longer would definitely have used it more. Everyone was very happy with the bedrooms and the fact they all had their own bathrooms (a couple which were next door, rather than en suite) and plenty of hot water and comfortable beds. The heating worked really well and the house was lovely and warm and there is wood burners if you wanted to use them.
We all said we would definitely love to return again to Bolstone Court as it had a lovely happy, comfortable homely feel about it.

"The property was quaint well maintained clean and extremely spacious."
The kitchen was well stocked and the grounds were well kept . The bedrooms were very comfortable and there was adequate space for the twelve of us. The games room was a novelty being in the church, the only drawback to the Church was it became cold in the evening. Just a small observation. The property was excellent. Plenty of Towels and Hot Water.

"A group of 13 'oldies' had a very enjoyable reunion at Bolstone."
The house is very comfortable and well laid out, e.g. the large kitchen leads straight onto a spacious dining room with a good sized table and there are comfortable sitting rooms with ample seating. Plus plenty of hot water in the showers.
Our only comment for the attention of the owner is that the electrical appliances need some maintenance. The bottom drawer of the dishwasher has lost a wheel so is difficult to use and although we did not need the washing machine it is out of order. The cooker is not easy to work with but our skills improved !
An excellent 4 nights in beautiful rural surroundings. Thank you.

"A really lovely holiday home."
Great for the number it caters for because of the space. The chapel/games room was fantastic.
The plumbing could do with a check. The shower in the family room showered into the dining room and the bath in the family bathroom was very slow to drain. Otherwise a well kitted out house with beautiful surroundings.

"We really enjoyed our stay at Bolstone Court and the facilities were adequate for our requirements."
Our only comment is that the presence of bats should be mentioned as a warning in the details. We had a bat phobic in the party and although she did not see any as she slept in the new part of the house, we did have one come in the attic bedroom and there were obviously a lot in the loft of the old
part of the house. It did not, in the event, spoil her enjoyment of the weekend but had we known about their presence we would not have chosen this venue for an important celebration.

"We found Bolstone Court to be one of the most spacious and beautifully presented properties we have stayed at."
It coped easily with 4 couples, and would easily have accommodated several more adults/children. The location is very rural, with some rather daunting single track access roads - with lots of mud, and grass down the middle - not for the faint-hearted! The directions provided are bit confusing, depending which way you arrive, but were all able to find the property with a bit of help from our satnavs. There is plenty of parking, and the access to the adjacent church as a games room is quite unusual and rather quaint. The owners have clearly worked hard to make the property super comfortable, and everything works, so full marks!!!! We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Bolstone Court, and we will certainly think about coming back again.

"Bolstone Court was a comfortable place to stay for a group of 10 adults in January, warm, plentiful hot water, comfortable beds and good bathroom facilities."
The kitchen was generally well equipped. Instructions about the heating system were clear. We only used one of the two sitting rooms; to accommodate a larger group you would have to use both. The age of the house and the church added to our enjoyment of an unusual and interesting location. It was very peaceful with lovely views. Be aware that the property is reached by rural roads with some steep sections, something to plan for if visiting in winter. We had one bat visitor during our stay, it should have been tucked up asleep in its roost so we hope it is safe, but it added to the charm of the house.

"This is an excellent house for a large party."
Good bedrooms with en suite facilities, or in one case a private bathroom. Two good sized lounges. Big dining room to cater for twelve guests. Well equipped kitchen with, significantly, a capacious "american " fridge/freezer (often a weak link in this sized house). Ample parking. And, overall , the privilege of staying in a magnificent historical building. Having a (deconsecrated) church and graveyard adjacent to the house and included in the let adds to the atmosphere. (games available in the church which we did not utilise)

15 dead wasps in one bedroom. Bathroom floor in largest room dirty and we had to get the mop out. Breakages not being replaced, only 3 med sized glasses, last year there were 8. No charcoal and BBQ was filthy. Usually milk and and a cake waiting on arrival but not this year.

"We had just had a great week's holiday at Bolstone Court."
There were three generations of us visiting and the space was perfect for all of us. We used the garden most nights for cricket and ball games. And the house was spacious enough that we were not on top of each other. The beds are super comfortable and the whole house clean and well appointed. We were very grateful for the booklets giving a detailed, fascinating history of the place - very interesting. Oh and we all loved the games chapel. Table tennis table is top quality.
It was unfortunate that we were visiting during this exceptional heat wave as the top bedroom was extremely uncomfortable and needs an air conditioner in such weather but that's a new problem and possibly not known by the owners before now. It was made more uncomfortable as we were advised to keep the windows closed to keep the bats out!
There are lots of interesting places to visit locally so all in all we had a great time.

"We stayed here as a group of 11, including 4 young children."
The house and games room were really lovely and the property is in a great location. However, we had to leave after 1 night as there were bats in the living area, including the kitchen. This is obviously both unsafe and unhygienic. Whilst I can understand that this happened, the lack of response from the owner was unacceptable. We have never had any direct communication from them despite leaving messages on both their emergency mobile number and landline number. Even Sykes could not contact them for over 48 hours. We were given a refund for the 6 nights we didn't stay but got no response from the owners when I asked for an assurance that this would be sorted for future guests.
Thank you for your feedback for Bolstone Court. We are terribly sorry about your encounter with the bats, These have been removed safely from the property and I have been monitoring this ever since. There has been no further evidence they have returned and we have had no further comments from guests. "Wow what can we say, all 14 (and two extra visiting lunch guests) commented on how beautiful this cottage is!"
It was clean, tidy and beautifully decorated. There is everything you could possibly need in that kitchen and you could comfortably cook in there whatever you wanted. It is in a very remote area with beautiful countryside, we didn’t fancy venturing out as it is a very country lane but we didn’t need to, and if you wanted to you could walk in the beautiful countryside and Hereford was only about 25 mins away.
My only point would be a request for some lights at the bottom of the drive, some of our party arrived in the dark and missed the turning and thought they were lost.
We would come here again we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and in the summer this place would be even more beautiful and you could bbq etc and walk further with the children.
It is a shame dogs aren’t allowed although I understand why not as the cottage is so beautiful but with the surrounding countryside our well behaved lab would have loved it. We did get a visit from the resident farmer dog who seemed to know the place and visited the gardens of the property!
The WiFi was surprisingly good as we had heard it wasn’t and we all had phone signal. But if not there was a phone you could use and an honesty box to pay for calls.
Thank you so much for such a lovely weekend. And for our lovely welcoming box of biscuits. You have a beautiful place!

The WiFi connection was ,however unreliable and one of our daughters was unable to do her college work and had to go home by train. I think that Sykes Cottages should make it absolutely clear how good /strong
the WiFi connection is when advertising their accommodation . A sign stating that there is WiFi is misleading when it does not work properly or state how strong the connection is.
