  • "From the moment we arrived, we knew we had made the right choice for our weeks holiday."

The tidiness of the whole place outside and inside was very special. The attention to detail, the welcome pack, and fresh flowers in each room was beautiful. Rob the owner has 2 dogs whom were very friendly, but very obedient, and they were kept under control at all times. Nothing was too much trouble for our host. The cottage is beautifully furnished, and kept to a very high standard.

  • "You know the Cottage is going to be good when the owner contacts you to ask what kind of bread and milk you would like in your welcome basket !"

! The basket also contained Butter ,eggs, jam ,shortbread biscuits and scones !! The Hive is a beautifully decorated cottage that has everything you could possibly need including every kitchen utensil known to man . It was very clean . Rob and Sandra were there to greet us and Rob showed us around and explained TV etc. ,any problems both are on site to solve but not in any way intrusive . The two dogs are very friendly and are kept away if you don't like dogs ,though I can't see it can be possible not to like these two ! The area is very quiet with Bosbury being about a mile away , the roads are narrow but relatively traffic free. The walks around the cottage area are very quiet, in fact on three walks we met one person. Malvern, Ledbury and Worcester are all close by. We can't recommend The Hive highly enough

  • "We had a lovely Easter break at The Hive."

Both the house and gardens are immaculate. The house is well stocked with everything you could possibly want including a bread bin, which in my experience is usually the one thing missing in the kitchen. We had a very generous 'Welcome Pack' of goodies which also included two Easter eggs, a thoughtful touch. Sandra and Rob were very friendly hosts with Sandra there to welcome us on our arrival explaining everything we needed to know. The Hive is about a five minute drive to the lovely and ancient town of Ledbury and we had a very interesting visit to Eastnor Castle about a fifteen minute drive away.

  • "We've stayed in a number of cottage, but this one is by far the best, and then some."

Warm (March), comfortable, and fully equipped. There was nothing that you could possibly need that wasn't there. The area is wonderful for walking, the towns are interesting, and the roads are very quiet and ideal for driving slowly and enjoying the views.

About the location

Worcester 11.9 miles; Hereford 18.9 miles

The large village of Colwall nestles within the westerly folds of the Malvern Hills AONB, bordering Worcestershire and split into three areas known as Colwall Stone, Colwall Green and Upper Colwall. One of the main features of this delightful village is the view of British Camp, which is an Iron Age hill fort positioned at the top of Herefordshire Beacon, a protected, ancient monument maintained by the Malvern Hills Conservators. Colwall Stone boasts a series of local shops, a specialist garden centre and village hall, while all three areas of the village are littered with public houses for you to enjoy a refreshing pint after a long walk over the hills. The many other outdoor activities available nearby include cycling, horse riding and fishing, not to mention hang gliding and paragliding for those seeking a thrill, as well as rock climbing locations in the area. The spa town of Malvern is nearby and offers a charming shopping location with its beautiful, hillside setting and a lovely mix of food, fashion and furniture stores. There are also a selection of pubs and eateries to choose from and a number of National Trust properties, gardens and vineyards within easy reach. Malvern Theatres has an extensive programme throughout the year with productions from the West End and the Royal Shakespeare Company, including musicals and dance, to world-renowned musicians and orchestra. Worcester and Hereford are within easy driving distance with many more attractions to enjoy, as are Tewkesbury and the Wye Valley, offering something for everyone. Choose this superb holiday destination at any time of the year!
