"Overall an excellent property for a perfect holiday stay."
We loved the views. It was just as we had anticipated from the pictures at the time of booking. The only things I would like to add are: the sofas in the living room need replacement. One of the seats is broken and overall they were covered with covers that made them look quite shabby. The seats were falling out of the sofas. Secondly, whilst the place was perfect for a family that required space for 6, it may not be suitable for a group of friends (3 couples), since the room upstairs were quite small and dark with small windows. But we were very happy with our stay. And thanks to the caretaker, who welcomed us to the farm on first day and also gave us a book on the history of Burton on the water on the day we were leaving. My kids enjoyed reading the book!
Thank you for your feed back we are so pleased that in your words “you found the property excellent for a perfect holiday”. The sofas were replaced earlier this year but getting the most appropriate ones can be a tad tricky, we are all so different. We need to provide comfy sofas whilst trying to maintain them stain free; tea, coffee, soft drink spills happen. Self catering properties differ from hotels and as you obviously were aware it is the guests’ responsibility to leave the property as found, you certainly did and thank you for that. The set of stretchy removable sofa seat covers are an attempt to help against said accidental spill stains. The gentleman you met was actually Roy the farm owner, he and myself, his wife are not always at the farm. Photos of the upstairs rooms and an accurate written description is on the website. The black out blinds were fitted to the windows in response to a guests’ recommendation, they themselves had found the rooms were too light, again everyone is so different, the blinds can of course can be for more light. Thank you again.. Property Owner
"We found a little bit of paradise with an abundance of wildlife on the door step ."
Fluff’s Farm is truly a special place. The apartment was very clean and very comfortable. The far reaching views of the Cotswolds outstanding and the owner Roy is very friendly. What more can I say , other than we hope to visit again very soon. Nb Only a very trivial matter, the “stretchy covers “ albeit clean and comfortable on the sofa spoilt the look of the living area and being a bit ocd I spent a lot of time trying to straighten them out, but that is just me .
"We spent a week at this cottage and were impressed by the view every morning."
We went in winter and I am sure the view would be even more splendid in the summer. The owners were very nice and offered some booklets to keep my children busy and other advice. Overall very happy with the stay.
"It's the second time we've been, we love it."
Great location and easy walking distance to the local village.
"We had booked the place for 6 people over the Christmas but luckily 2 members of our group could not join us due to covid."
The accommodation is too small for 6 adults. the beds in the loft room with only a toilet and basin are not suitable for adults specially when you are paying good money for the rent. The place does not even have sets of 6 in some crockery and glasses. if you are looking for a very basic in accommodation yes go for it.
Thank you for your feedback. First, may we apologise for the fact that the weather was so dismal, thick fog for days and no clear visibility to enjoy the amazing views, and footpaths so wet, we can fully understand any disappointment you felt not to enjoy a clear day and a lovely to walk on Christmas Day, such a special time. With regards to the accommodation itself, it has been available for the use of our guests for just over six years, in response to your comments, the photos and the property description on the web site have been checked to ensure that they do still accurately, show the rooms that are available. With regard to crockery etc. thank you for making us aware that out of the 20 glasses and tumblers that are normally available there were in fact two glasses and two side side plates missing, plus a couple of the little tea cups, there were still 22 plates available plus a further selection of mugs and cups. The few missing items have been replaced by the management company. Again, we are sorry you encountered such gloomy weather and that you were disappointed on this occasion. Hopefully you will have the chance to visit the area again in more clement weather conditions. Kind regards, the owners…..Roy & Sue. Property Owner
"The name of the property says it all - stunning views from a beautiful property."
The owners are delightful and we can’t wait to come back again. Highly recommend staying here
"Nice property in a nice location and had what we needed."
Disappointing upon arrival to find dead flies on the bedroom floor when paying as much as we did and especially when the time was moved from 4pm to 5pm after already purchasing the stay, for what we were told was an extra hour of cleaning!!!! Check out at 10am was also a little early, again for the cost, doesn’t give you a great amount of time for a 2 night stay. Signage all over the walls inside the apartment in almost every room is overkill and not very ‘welcoming’, not sure why it couldn’t be kept to the information folder?! Cotswolds itself was lovely and made the stay a good one.
Dear Mr Chamberlain and family, First, as the owner’s please accept our sincere apologies. Though we no longer breed animals on Fluffs Farm, neighbouring farmland is still in use for breeding cows, sheep & horses, livestock and manure equates to the prevalence of flies. Thank you for bringing attention to this issue. The management company send their apologies too, they oversee a large number of self catering holiday lets, consequently exact times of their employees’ attendance to each property can not be accurately predicted. We are aware that guests who made holiday bookings before and during the advent of Coronavirus, then transferred to future dates will have received information confirming a different arrival time, departure times have remained the same as before. We understand that your young family consisted of just 2 adults,1 child and 1 infant. The pricing structuring for Beautiful Cotswold View is calculated on the maximum accommodation available. As a three bedroomed apartment it is available for up to 6 adult guests plus a baby. Please accept our apologies that your family were not able to benefit from the maximum accommodation available. With reference to signs, by their nature signs can be viewed subjectively. They are displayed to help reduce confusion arising from guests who for whatever reason choose not to check through the information and equipment folders, of course, there is also now a requirement to display signs with reference to Coronavirus. Thank you Mr Chamberlain, for choosing to visit Beautiful Cotswold View, we are heartened that you still found your visit to the Cotswolds a good one. Kindest regards, Roy & Sue. Property Owner
"The property is in a perfect position for exploring The Cotswolds."
It was clean comfortable and well stocked with all necessities. I did find the seating slightly uncomfortable and would have preferred maybe a traditional suite however this is a personal preference, we found it awkward for 4 people to watch the television, play games games together or just chat with the configuration. The owners were on site and were extremely helpful, friendly and helped make our stay an excellent experience. The title of the property aptly describes it, it was indeed a beautiful view and we were able to watch the birds as they fed at the feeding station well positioned for viewing. All in all a very enjoyable stay.
Thank you for your feedback, we are so pleased you and your family enjoyed your stay, taking into you comments, a more tradition sofa has now been put into the the accommodation. Kindest regards, the owners…. Roy & Sue. Property Owner
"The property is very comfortable with beautiful views which live up to the name and is very well positioned for exploring the area."
Unfortunately it could have been cleaner, finger marks all over the panoramic windows and also visible on the microwave. Other areas needed some cleaning attention too. Although this is not acceptable at any time, particularly unacceptable these days with Covid-19. However we had a lovely holiday and it wouldn’t put us off visiting again, hopefully the cleaners will take note!
Thank you for your feedback, as the owners we are sorry and embarrassed about the less than acceptable issues that you encountered. Unfortunately, due to our I’ll health we are not able to service the accommodation ourselves, we are reliant on an independent management company that visit to change the linen and clean the property. However we are so pleased you found the views and the location ideal. Kind regards, Roy & Sue. Property Owner
"Fantastic place to stay."
Lovely views from living room, balcony and main bedroom. Lots of wildlife spotted. Well resourced cottage, comfortable bedrooms that were light and very clean. Would definitely stay here again.
"Could be cleaned better."
There was dust combined with hair under the bed in the main bedroom and the pans needed washing before use.As we were 6 adults for part of the time it was a problem that there were only 6 of everything, cutlery, mugs, bowls etc. Otherwise it was well equipped and the view was as claimed. We still had a lovely time there. It was well placed for walks and visiting local sites.
Thank you for your review of our cottage. We have spoken to our cleaning company regarding the issues you have raised. I have been monitoring them since you made us aware of this and am pleased to say that the standards we expect of them are being maintained. Property Owner
"Great base for walking the Cotswold Way."
Fantastic views with wildlife to watch from the balcony and massive windows. Bourton gets very busy at the weekends but quieter mid week. We would recommend the Mousetrap Inn and Rose Tree. Friendly owners Roy and Sue live downstairs and very helpful if needed. Only criticism is that there are just 6 of everything so we needed to use dishwasher/wash up frequently.
"You need to sort out the booking and payment arrangements for the use of the onsite Electric Vehicle charge point."
Lorna, the advised contact re: the EV charge point didn't have a clue about it, Emma from Molohh was equally unaware, Skyes Customer service assistants didn't have a clue so I ended up writing to the owner to book it and to request details of it's use and payment. He very kindly telephoned me back and sorted out my queries. Skyes Cottages needs to address this and allow booking of this facility via their website. The table in the premises was positioned right in front of the hall door making initial access with bags cases etc very difficult and obstructing ongoing access. This table would be better placed against the wall between the french doors and the window
"We absolutely loved our accommodation at Bourton on the Water, everything we required and needed was provided."
It was fabulous and the views extensive. Great base for visiting the lovely villages of the Cotswolds and would definitely visit again and certainly recommend to anyone wishing to visit the Cotswolds.
"The view is fabulous, set in a quiet place, but with a,pretty village nearby."
Location very good.
"We had to wash plates and cups and frying pans etc, all were extremely dirty!"
Balcony lights not working, bulbs gone?
"Well situated property overlooking the Windrush valley and Bourton on the Water."
Lots of local walking and well marked paths around the whole area. Each day we were able to walk somewhere different from the property, hardly used the car at all
"Another fabulous property that we have booked through Sykes."
"Lovely accommodation with spectacular views."
Lots of wildlife to see with the binoculars coming in very handy. DavidEasy walk down to the village its uphill coming back. Would recommend and hopefully return.
"Our holiday began the minute we walked in to the beautiful home the view was amazing we was all blown away ."
The owner greeted us gave books to our grandchildren it was so relaxing looking at the wild life enjoying or walks and getting back in the evening to relax we have stayed in the Cotswolds before many of time but never anywhere like this . Kind regards the Keune family xx
"View from windows - amazing!"
Birds&other wildlife just outside window Friendly owners made us very welcome
"We took my mum for a surprise birthday weekend away with the family."
Its was absolutely beautiful. The veiw was incredible and the wildlife that wanders around outside the window is fabulous. The village is beautiful and its in vert close proximity to other little places to wander around. We would all highly recommend staying at Fluffs Farm.
Very comfortable and well equipped accommodation. Shame that the alpacas had gone but we were informed by Sykes beforehand about the change. There was plenty of other wildlife to see though. Although the owners were on site we did not meet them until departure when they were very friendly. They even gave the children copies of their books about the alpacas adventures. Overall it was a perfect way to celebrate a special birthday with family.
"Beautiful accommodation in a beautiful location."
Be aware it is 5 mins by car or 15 mins walk into Bourton village.
"We had a wonderful stay!"
The house had a marwellous view, and the rooms was light and cosy. The host was very friendly. The area was suitable for wandering and bicycling. We will recommand this place.
"What a fabulous place to stay, beautiful scenery and surroundings."
Our accommodation was top notch and the owners couldn't of been more helpful we will definately return. Highly recommended.
"Double bed in bedroom on top floor far too low and could be a little higher enabling you to get out of bed properly."
Few more dishes in kitchen such as Pyrex dishes etc. We had a great stay and would not hesitate in booking this property again.
"Fluffs farm was in an absolutely fabulous location."
Lovely walks and easy to walk into Bourton. The accommodation was really good. Upstairs bedrooms were quirky, but ok for us. We enjoyed it so much we have already booked to visit again
"Superb accommodation in an excellent location for exploring the Cotswolds."
"A well kept property with every requirement covered."
Delightfully warm on a cold weekend. Owners very helpful. Views amazing . Alpacces and wildlife entertaining
"The bed in the upstairs room, is a mattress on the floor, and not very comfortable, and not suitable for older people or anyone with a bad back or dodgy knees."
The sinks are very small in the bathrooms, the Men found it awkward for having a shave. We were only left 2 T-Towels , we didn't use the dishwasher, is was much quicker and more efficient to hand wash. Also we had to wash all the pans and plates before using as they were dirty. BUT we did have a great time, and the views from the lounge was stunning. The house is well equipped, apart from extra t towels .

About the location
Stow-on-the-Wold 4 miles; Moreton-in-Marsh 8 miles; Chipping Norton 13 miles; Cheltenham 15.5 miles.
Located in the Cotswold Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the historic village of Bourton-on-the-Water dates back to Neolithic times with over 100 buildings being Grade II listed or higher. The picturesque high street nestles alongside the River Windrush over which several low stone bridges span, which is why Bourton-on-the-Water is known as the Venice in the Cotswolds. Tradition states that an annual football match is played in the summer, in the River Windrush with the banks lined with spectators, with the aim to score as many goals as possible and get as wet as possible! The village has an eclectic range of visitor attractions, including The Model Village, Cotswold Motor Museum, Birdland Park and Gardens as well as a Dragonfly Maze, monthly farmers’ market as well as many tea rooms, an artisan bakery, antiques and craft markets, traditional sweet shop, cycle hire and its very own perfumery. Nearby, Stow-on-the-Wold, originally an Iron Age Fort, epitomises traditional England. This ancient market town has played host to many fairs since the 12th century and today holds a biannual Gypsy Horse Fair, craft fairs and monthly farmers' market. The vast market square boasts an ancient cross at one end and the village stocks at the other, surrounded by an elegant array of Cotswold stone townhouses, antiques shops, tea rooms, traditional pubs, award-winning restaurants and its very own cricket museum. Also take a visit to the medieval town of Burford for a great day out where you can enjoy a trip to the Cotswold Wildlife Park and Gardens. The Saxon market town of Moreton-in-Marsh and the quintessential English village of Broadway are both within easy reach and make a great day out. The spa town of Cheltenham is, architecturally, the most complete Regency town in England with an incredible range of shops, cinemas, theatres, restaurants and pubs, it is famous for its horse racing festival in March, culminating in the Gold Cup steeplechase. Oxford, the oldest university city in England and sometimes called The City of Dreaming Spires has an abundance of prestigious attractions, including the 38 colleges of the university (half of which date back before 1600), the oldest university teaching room, the Bodleian Library, Ashmolean and Pitt Rivers Museums, and Botanic Gardens. Stratford-upon-Avon, Bath, Worcester and the waterfront city of Gloucester are also all within easy reach.
