  • "The property was very well equiped with everything you need for a perfect holiday and just a 15 minute stroll to the beautiful village."

The views were just amazing over the beautiful Cotswold countryside which the property took full advantage of with it's height and huge picture windows and balcony. The wildlife was in abundance with a large bird feeding station attracting goldfinch, chaffinch, greenfinch, great tit, blue tit , green woodpecker, pheasants and french partridge. We also saw muntjak , roe deer, little owl, buzzards, squirrels and rabbits , it was just amazing. There was a pool and darts room which we made full use of being perfect entertainment now the nights are drawing in. There is plenty of outside seating near the wildlife pond , again with fab views. Roy and Sue, the owners, were such lovely welcoming people and could not have been more helpful. We will definitely go back to this lovely unique property .

Location is slightly out of Bourton on the Water in an elevated position ,providing views of the valley below . Many species of birds are attracted to the feeding stations with small deer also using the grassed parkland routes created. An enjoyable stay in a good location to visit the Cotswold villages and towns.

  • "Fantastic property."

Views are amazing with lots of activity by the bird feeders and into the fields beyond. We saw Muntjac deer, Green and Spotted Woodpeckers, rabbits, a stoat, partridges and many more types of birds. Headroom is restricted in areas on the top floor, but our tallest family member, at over 6ft, managed fine. 10 min walk into Bourton with restaurants, pubs and takeaways available - 15 min walk back! Glad we chose a property with a view rather than being in the village itself.

  • "Great view and location relative to Bourton on the water."

The accommodation is fairly basic. The accommodation is situated on what I would describe as a farm storage area, consisting of storage containers and abandoned sheds. The outside areas desperately need tidying up to make sitting outside or barbecuing a pleasant experience.

Thank you for your comments. First please accept our apologises for this rather long reply, it is an attempt to acknowledge them and explain the consequences of the ongoing re-wilding of Fluffs Farm which has already led to less weeding much longer grass, quite unlike a smart garden in suburbia. Your recent visit coincided with our own break away. With us not being around possibly, understandably, but incorrectly you have assumed ‘abandonment’. Last year the improved wildlife pond was professionally constructed and planted using selected British wild flower seeds, this its’ first year, the flowers have produced the most amazing visual feast, as instructed by the seed providers the one and only annual mowing of it, is to be done in late autumn, wild flowers’ annual ‘hair cut’ time. The ‘present unruly display of nature’ may be regarded by some as a tad ‘untidy’, long grass left to facilitate the ideal environments for butterflies, bees, field voles etc. etc. may too be perceived untidy, disorderly and uncared-for while in fact quite the opposite is true. Storage containers, you are quite right, when looking back from behind the farm house through to the farm yard and on to the entrance gate which is the completely opposite direction to the ‘great view’ one can see storage containers, nowadays such are a very common feature on farms, providing secure storage for implements. The minimalistic decor of the accommodation itself, is in direct contrast to the elevated, panoramic view of the glorious, British/English/UK countryside. Property Owner

We kept a log of visitors to the bird feeding station and noted about 25 different species of bird plus we saw deer , a green woodpecker and ducks on the wildlife pond the village is a short walk but unfortunately it’s down quite a big hill and due to advancing age I couldn’t manage the walk back we do hope to visit this property again it has everything we needed and there is a co op in the village plus many places to eat . We had really good weather but with this apartment even if it rains there is always something to look at from the window. Fingers crossed we can return there soon

It was spacious, clean, and we could have sat and stared at the view for our whole trip. The hosts were super friendly and knowledgable about the area whenever we bumped into them. The location is great, Bourton is gorgeous but gets a little busy on weekends, and it was nice that only a 2 minute drive from town it was so quiet. My family and I are on quite an extended holiday at the moment, where we have stayed in many Airbnbs and holiday homes, and this one has been our favourite by far.

  • "Overall an excellent property for a perfect holiday stay."

We loved the views. It was just as we had anticipated from the pictures at the time of booking. The only things I would like to add are: the sofas in the living room need replacement. One of the seats is broken and overall they were covered with covers that made them look quite shabby. The seats were falling out of the sofas. Secondly, whilst the place was perfect for a family that required space for 6, it may not be suitable for a group of friends (3 couples), since the room upstairs were quite small and dark with small windows. But we were very happy with our stay. And thanks to the caretaker, who welcomed us to the farm on first day and also gave us a book on the history of Burton on the water on the day we were leaving. My kids enjoyed reading the book!

Thank you for your feed back we are so pleased that in your words “you found the property excellent for a perfect holiday”. The sofas were replaced earlier this year but getting the most appropriate ones can be a tad tricky, we are all so different. We need to provide comfy sofas whilst trying to maintain them stain free; tea, coffee, soft drink spills happen. Self catering properties differ from hotels and as you obviously were aware it is the guests’ responsibility to leave the property as found, you certainly did and thank you for that. The set of stretchy removable sofa seat covers are an attempt to help against said accidental spill stains. The gentleman you met was actually Roy the farm owner, he and myself, his wife are not always at the farm. Photos of the upstairs rooms and an accurate written description is on the website. The black out blinds were fitted to the windows in response to a guests’ recommendation, they themselves had found the rooms were too light, again everyone is so different, the blinds can of course can be for more light. Thank you again.. Property Owner

The far reaching views of the Cotswolds outstanding and the owner Roy is very friendly. What more can I say , other than we hope to visit again very soon. Nb Only a very trivial matter, the “stretchy covers “ albeit clean and comfortable on the sofa spoilt the look of the living area and being a bit ocd I spent a lot of time trying to straighten them out, but that is just me .

The accommodation is too small for 6 adults. the beds in the loft room with only a toilet and basin are not suitable for adults specially when you are paying good money for the rent. The place does not even have sets of 6 in some crockery and glasses. if you are looking for a very basic in accommodation yes go for it.

Thank you for your feedback. First, may we apologise for the fact that the weather was so dismal, thick fog for days and no clear visibility to enjoy the amazing views, and footpaths so wet, we can fully understand any disappointment you felt not to enjoy a clear day and a lovely to walk on Christmas Day, such a special time. With regards to the accommodation itself, it has been available for the use of our guests for just over six years, in response to your comments, the photos and the property description on the web site have been checked to ensure that they do still accurately, show the rooms that are available. With regard to crockery etc. thank you for making us aware that out of the 20 glasses and tumblers that are normally available there were in fact two glasses and two side side plates missing, plus a couple of the little tea cups, there were still 22 plates available plus a further selection of mugs and cups. The few missing items have been replaced by the management company. Again, we are sorry you encountered such gloomy weather and that you were disappointed on this occasion. Hopefully you will have the chance to visit the area again in more clement weather conditions. Kind regards, the owners…..Roy & Sue. Property Owner

Disappointing upon arrival to find dead flies on the bedroom floor when paying as much as we did and especially when the time was moved from 4pm to 5pm after already purchasing the stay, for what we were told was an extra hour of cleaning!!!! Check out at 10am was also a little early, again for the cost, doesn’t give you a great amount of time for a 2 night stay. Signage all over the walls inside the apartment in almost every room is overkill and not very ‘welcoming’, not sure why it couldn’t be kept to the information folder?! Cotswolds itself was lovely and made the stay a good one.

Dear Mr Chamberlain and family, First, as the owner’s please accept our sincere apologies. Though we no longer breed animals on Fluffs Farm, neighbouring farmland is still in use for breeding cows, sheep & horses, livestock and manure equates to the prevalence of flies. Thank you for bringing attention to this issue. The management company send their apologies too, they oversee a large number of self catering holiday lets, consequently exact times of their employees’ attendance to each property can not be accurately predicted. We are aware that guests who made holiday bookings before and during the advent of Coronavirus, then transferred to future dates will have received information confirming a different arrival time, departure times have remained the same as before. We understand that your young family consisted of just 2 adults,1 child and 1 infant. The pricing structuring for Beautiful Cotswold View is calculated on the maximum accommodation available. As a three bedroomed apartment it is available for up to 6 adult guests plus a baby. Please accept our apologies that your family were not able to benefit from the maximum accommodation available. With reference to signs, by their nature signs can be viewed subjectively. They are displayed to help reduce confusion arising from guests who for whatever reason choose not to check through the information and equipment folders, of course, there is also now a requirement to display signs with reference to Coronavirus. Thank you Mr Chamberlain, for choosing to visit Beautiful Cotswold View, we are heartened that you still found your visit to the Cotswolds a good one. Kindest regards, Roy & Sue. Property Owner

It was clean comfortable and well stocked with all necessities. The owners were on site and were extremely helpful, friendly and helped make our stay an excellent experience. The title of the property aptly describes it, it was indeed a beautiful view and we were able to watch the birds as they fed at the feeding station well positioned for viewing. All in all a very enjoyable stay.

Although this is not acceptable at any time, particularly unacceptable these days with Covid-19. However we had a lovely holiday and it wouldn’t put us off visiting again, hopefully the cleaners will take note!

Thank you for your feedback, as the owners we are sorry and embarrassed about the less than acceptable issues that you encountered. BOURTON-ON-THE-WATER

Stow-on-the-Wold 4 miles; Moreton-in-Marsh 8 miles; Chipping Norton 13 miles; Cheltenham 15.5 miles.

Located in the Cotswold Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the historic village of Bourton-on-the-Water dates back to Neolithic times with over 100 buildings being Grade II listed or higher. The picturesque high street nestles alongside the River Windrush over which several low stone bridges span, which is why Bourton-on-the-Water is known as the Venice in the Cotswolds. Tradition states that an annual football match is played in the summer, in the River Windrush with the banks lined with spectators, with the aim to score as many goals as possible and get as wet as possible! The village has an eclectic range of visitor attractions, including The Model Village, Cotswold Motor Museum, Birdland Park and Gardens as well as a Dragonfly Maze, monthly farmers’ market as well as many tea rooms, an artisan bakery, antiques and craft markets, traditional sweet shop, cycle hire and its very own perfumery. Nearby, Stow-on-the-Wold, originally an Iron Age Fort, epitomises traditional England. This ancient market town has played host to many fairs since the 12th century and today holds a biannual Gypsy Horse Fair, craft fairs and monthly farmers' market. The vast market square boasts an ancient cross at one end and the village stocks at the other, surrounded by an elegant array of Cotswold stone townhouses, antiques shops, tea rooms, traditional pubs, award-winning restaurants and its very own cricket museum. Also take a visit to the medieval town of Burford for a great day out where you can enjoy a trip to the Cotswold Wildlife Park and Gardens. The Saxon market town of Moreton-in-Marsh and the quintessential English village of Broadway are both within easy reach and make a great day out. The spa town of Cheltenham is, architecturally, the most complete Regency town in England with an incredible range of shops, cinemas, theatres, restaurants and pubs, it is famous for its horse racing festival in March, culminating in the Gold Cup steeplechase. Oxford, the oldest university city in England and sometimes called The City of Dreaming Spires has an abundance of prestigious attractions, including the 38 colleges of the university (half of which date back before 1600), the oldest university teaching room, the Bodleian Library, Ashmolean and Pitt Rivers Museums, and Botanic Gardens. Stratford-upon-Avon, Bath, Worcester and the waterfront city of Gloucester are also all within easy reach.
