  • "Chestnut cottage was just what we wanted."

Small beautifully furnished and particular care had been taken to provide everything that anyone could require. I hope life takes us there again.

Thank you for your lovely comments. We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay. We hope we can welcome you back again. Best wishes Manor Cottages Property Owner

  • "The property was very clean, although smaller than we thought."

Certainly wouldn’t be big enough for 3 adults. Very close to town & in agood location. The church bell rings on every quarter of an hour, which can be invasive. The arm chairs were not terribly comfortable and the recycling area was a bit of a mess. It was pleasant with good facilities and the patio area was nice.

Thank you for your feedback with regards to your stay at Chestnut Apartment. We are glad to hear you enjoyed the stay, it's in a great location to explore Bourton and the other areas. We will pass on your comments to the Owner for review. Kind regards Manor Cottages. Property Owner

  • "We had a lovely week at Chestnut Apartment."

It was clean, comfortable and in a fantastic location. The owner was friendly and on-site should you need any help. We would recommend and would return. The only small comment is that some if the fixtures and fittings were quite old and a few items could do with upgrading, but this didn’t affect our stay at all.

Thank you for your lovely feedback and your comments. The owner confirms that the sitting room chairs have been replaced in the past year, the white goods are up to date and there is a new shower door. We hope we can welcome you back again. Best wishes Manor Cottages Property Owner

Other than that the flat is comfortable and well appointed and makes a good base for visiting the Cotswolds

Very helpful owner who made us feel very welcome. Some irritating problems with the WiFi over the bank holiday weekend caused by the System not being able to cope with the huge amount of visitors. Well recommended.

  • "We had a wonderful stay at the Chestnut Apartment."

This is our 3rd stay as a family in two different apartments at this property. I can't say enough about the cleanliness and location of this property. It is quaint, has comfortable beds with lovely furnishings and the owner is a gem. There is safe on sight parking and walking home from an evening meal out downtown is a very short walk and appreciated. You could stay here without a vehicle as there is grocery available within walking distance. There is also bus service a short walk away which goes to Cheltenham for the bigger shops and places like Stow on the Wold. Many thanks to our host, we will return.

Thank you for your lovely comments. We are so pleased you like the apartments and location. We look forward to welcoming you back for your fourth stay! Best wishes Manor Cottages Property Owner

. The apartment was well maintained and had everything to make our stay special. Having drinks on the patio at the end of a busy day was just spot on. The Apartment was close to all Bourton on the Water had to offer. We would certainly book the The Chestnut again without hesitation

  • "Property very small, things that could improve the comfort of the property are a new settee and chair in the lounge, you could not get comfortable on the one’s provided, they were Awful!"

. Also new pillows on the beds are a number one priority, they were very thin, like biscuits! May I also suggest that the owner needs to check the contents of the first aid kit as some of the contents were way out of date! I needed to use a antiseptic wipe but it was all dried up and I then discovered that it was about 12 years out of date. I would not currently recommend this property.

Thank you for the constructive feedback. I will contact the owner in regards to providing some new pillows and also pass on the comment about the sofa. I do hope you enjoyed your stay otherwise and got to explore Bourton-on-the water. Best wishes, Manor Cottages Further to the comments raised above, the owner has now replaced the pillows and the first aid box contents have been reviewed. With regard to the pillows, the owner is disappointed that this matter was not raised whilst you were at the property as she lives on site, and would have been happy to get this rectified whilst you were in residence. With regard to the size of the property we do make note on the description the following 'Please note: Beech Apartment is a compact property, and whilst it will accommodate 3 adults, it is probably better suited for 2 adults, or 2 adults + 1child (10+ years of age). • "We had a lovely relaxing week at the Chestnuts apartment."

The apartment is in a good location with walks, pubs, attractions and shops within a few minutes walk. We loved the fact that you could see and hear the church clock which added to the pleasure of our holiday. It’s also great to have the outside space where we enjoyed some meals and drinks. Thank you for the milk, orange juice, kitkats and a few tea/coffee bags which allowed us to have some refreshments before we ventured out for our food shop. The apartment is clean and a lot of thought has gone into making full use of the space. Janice was a great host. She checked in on us to make sure everything was okay, but left us to enjoy our holiday and then wished us a safe journey home on our departure. We have returned home feeling totally energised and relaxed. Thank you for allowing us to have such a lovely stay in your small but cosy apartment, we would love to stay again in the future.

BOURTON-ON-THE-WATER

Stow-on-the-Wold 4 miles; Moreton-in-Marsh 8 miles; Chipping Norton 13 miles; Cheltenham 15.5 miles.

Located in the Cotswold Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the historic village of Bourton-on-the-Water dates back to Neolithic times with over 100 buildings being Grade II listed or higher. The picturesque high street nestles alongside the River Windrush over which several low stone bridges span, which is why Bourton-on-the-Water is known as the Venice in the Cotswolds. Tradition states that an annual football match is played in the summer, in the River Windrush with the banks lined with spectators, with the aim to score as many goals as possible and get as wet as possible! The village has an eclectic range of visitor attractions, including The Model Village, Cotswold Motor Museum, Birdland Park and Gardens as well as a Dragonfly Maze, monthly farmers’ market as well as many tea rooms, an artisan bakery, antiques and craft markets, traditional sweet shop, cycle hire and its very own perfumery. Nearby, Stow-on-the-Wold, originally an Iron Age Fort, epitomises traditional England. This ancient market town has played host to many fairs since the 12th century and today holds a biannual Gypsy Horse Fair, craft fairs and monthly farmers' market. The vast market square boasts an ancient cross at one end and the village stocks at the other, surrounded by an elegant array of Cotswold stone townhouses, antiques shops, tea rooms, traditional pubs, award-winning restaurants and its very own cricket museum. Also take a visit to the medieval town of Burford for a great day out where you can enjoy a trip to the Cotswold Wildlife Park and Gardens. The Saxon market town of Moreton-in-Marsh and the quintessential English village of Broadway are both within easy reach and make a great day out. The spa town of Cheltenham is, architecturally, the most complete Regency town in England with an incredible range of shops, cinemas, theatres, restaurants and pubs, it is famous for its horse racing festival in March, culminating in the Gold Cup steeplechase. Oxford, the oldest university city in England and sometimes called The City of Dreaming Spires has an abundance of prestigious attractions, including the 38 colleges of the university (half of which date back before 1600), the oldest university teaching room, the Bodleian Library, Ashmolean and Pitt Rivers Museums, and Botanic Gardens. Stratford-upon-Avon, Bath, Worcester and the waterfront city of Gloucester are also all within easy reach.
