  • "Kate’s cottage was really spacious and comfortable."

It was so close to the centre of Bourton on the water, which was very convenient. We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay, in spite of the weather!

But I do have a couple of suggestions, 1 clear the garden (jungle) and lay more paving so you could at least use the table and chairs. 2 new pillows please. Thank you again for a great holiday.

Thank you for taking time to complete your feedback, we are glad to hear that you have enjoyed anther stay with us, as discussed on our call, we did arrive the following week to do the garden which has now been all sorted and thank you for your suggestion about the pillows, we will ensure that we have some firm pillow ready for your next stay. Thank you again for your feedback, we look forward to seeing you again in the future. Property Owner

it is much much larger than what is seen in the photos( i would ask the owners to definitely put up new photos of the property and the old ones don't do enough justice to it) The cottage has everything you need, there was a welcome milk bottle and cake on arrival which we found absloutely sweet. Also ,the property is super clean and you feel quite comfortable in these strange times of covid. Location is brilliant,a 2 minute walk to the river windrush! we will definitely be staying at the same property again in the future. Thankyou

  • "We were very happy with the cottage, and especially the location."

It is within just two or three minutes walk from the centre of the village,, and is very quiet. It was helpful to have milk waiting for us and we appreciated the sponge. One little addition would have been welcome for when it was raining would have been a CD/DVD player, but the smart TV went a long way to putting that right. Would certainly returning to the cottage for a future holiday.

  • "Very nicely furnished, very clean, well looked after."

Good position, quiet but not too far from centre for shops an d restaurants. Few small niggles, the plug in the washbasin upstairs would not stay down, to allow water to stay in the bowl, no sieve in kitchen to drain vegetables, no space in kitchen to store food. Would recommend to a friend.

  • "We had a great stay at Kate's cottage."

The accommodation was clean and tidy, it is bigger than it looks on the pictures so we had lots of room and it was very comfortable relaxing in the cottage. It was in a great location only a minutes walk into Bourton on the water. Parking was fine with a space outside the cottage and a separate garage as well. Will definitely consider staying here again and will recommend to others.

Loved the induction hob cooker. Good sized fridge/freezer. Full sized dish washer. Instructions supplied for all electrical items. Cottage was bigger than expected. Very pretty garden. It was very quiet, with lovely birdsong. Only one negative - duvet cover and pillow case were made from polyester and produced static.

It was well resourced, comfortable and just a few minutes walk from the centre of town. We would recommend the cottage highly for a short break in the Cotswolds. There was wi-fi and nice extra touches such as milk, tea/ coffee and biscuits waiting for us.The only slight problem we had was actually finding it as the front door is on the side of the cottage and we couldn’t find the street name. Off road parking next to the door was extremely useful.

Location was ideal - not even a 5 minute walk into the centre of Bourton-on-on-the-water. The cottage was very cosy. The only negative I would say is the second bedroom has a 4ft bed so was not ideal for 2 adults. Tea, coffee, sugar and milk was available for us and a box of choccies - nice touch!

A couple of minutes walk into the village, which is ideal with small children. The cottage could do with some more child friendly facilities, such as a high chair, stair gate and travel cot to save people having to take their own. The cottage was very clean and welcoming when we arrived, and it felt very homely. We're planning another short break to Bourton-on-the-Water and will definitely try to stay at Kate's cottage again.

I telephoned at 9.15 am on the Wednesday to extend. Finally, after making 3 phone calls and speaking to 6 people, at about 4.30 pm I was told we could extend. I was told the price would be pro-rata, I just accepted what I was asked for and paid. When I later worked it out I found I had been massively overcharged! Do you wonder at my lack of satisfaction.

About the location

BOURTON-ON-THE-WATER

Stow-on-the-Wold 4 miles; Moreton-in-Marsh 8 miles; Chipping Norton 13 miles; Cheltenham 15.5 miles.

Located in the Cotswold Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the historic village of Bourton-on-the-Water dates back to Neolithic times with over 100 buildings being Grade II listed or higher. The picturesque high street nestles alongside the River Windrush over which several low stone bridges span, which is why Bourton-on-the-Water is known as the Venice in the Cotswolds. Tradition states that an annual football match is played in the summer, in the River Windrush with the banks lined with spectators, with the aim to score as many goals as possible and get as wet as possible! The village has an eclectic range of visitor attractions, including The Model Village, Cotswold Motor Museum, Birdland Park and Gardens as well as a Dragonfly Maze, monthly farmers’ market as well as many tea rooms, an artisan bakery, antiques and craft markets, traditional sweet shop, cycle hire and its very own perfumery. Nearby, Stow-on-the-Wold, originally an Iron Age Fort, epitomises traditional England. This ancient market town has played host to many fairs since the 12th century and today holds a biannual Gypsy Horse Fair, craft fairs and monthly farmers' market. The vast market square boasts an ancient cross at one end and the village stocks at the other, surrounded by an elegant array of Cotswold stone townhouses, antiques shops, tea rooms, traditional pubs, award-winning restaurants and its very own cricket museum. Also take a visit to the medieval town of Burford for a great day out where you can enjoy a trip to the Cotswold Wildlife Park and Gardens. The Saxon market town of Moreton-in-Marsh and the quintessential English village of Broadway are both within easy reach and make a great day out. The spa town of Cheltenham is, architecturally, the most complete Regency town in England with an incredible range of shops, cinemas, theatres, restaurants and pubs, it is famous for its horse racing festival in March, culminating in the Gold Cup steeplechase. Oxford, the oldest university city in England and sometimes called The City of Dreaming Spires has an abundance of prestigious attractions, including the 38 colleges of the university (half of which date back before 1600), the oldest university teaching room, the Bodleian Library, Ashmolean and Pitt Rivers Museums, and Botanic Gardens. Stratford-upon-Avon, Bath, Worcester and the waterfront city of Gloucester are also all within easy reach.
