  • "Excellent property within 10 minutes walk to Bourton-on-the-Water centre."

Very clean, cosy and comfortable. We stayed at Christmas and the owners put a tree up for us and left us some chocolates and wine. We had a lovely Christmas in the cottage and will certainly be back again.

Thank you for your kind words. We always do our best so that guests feel at home when they stay at the Seventeen. You left the cottage in a very tidy state which we really appreciate. Thank you and happy new year. Property Owner

Many thanks to the owners for treats left for us. Much appreciated! Great to have off road parking that means a lot these days. The property is an easy stroll to centre so that is also a plus. We would certainly recommend this property.

Many thanks for this lovely feedback. We're glad you enjoyed your stay (and the treats too!). We hope to welcome you again. Best wishes Manor Cottages Property Owner

  • "Very nice cottage, had a problem with front door having too turn key and hold it then push handle down which then catches your fingers."

Only a smal bath towel and hand towel each for whole time there, marks on one of towels. Very bad internet kept dropping out all the time we were there. Ella is lovely and sorted problems out very quickly apart from internet which was beyond her control. Would recommed using this cottage.

Thank you for the comments. The guests arrived much earlier and we let them in with pleasure. They were happy with the house also wine milk, fruts etc. I showed them how to open the front door. The handle is not broken. I provided two sets of towels per person as requested although the booking was only for 4 nights and the washing machine and gel are available. It's a shame the guests didn't let me know that there is a problem with the internet. We would of sorted this with our provider on the same day. I hope they will be back in the area. Thank you for supporting our small business in this difficult time. Property Owner

  • "What a nice house, everything was right."

Neat and clean. Nice presents on arrival. The center of Bourton was super busy, but you don't notice that when you're in your house. Beds were good, just a bit too soft for us. Supermarket was nearby, you could walk to it. We also enjoyed the garden wonderfully.

Thank you for your feedback with regards to your stay at The Seventeen. It's great to hear you enjoyed your stay with us and we would love to welcome you back in the future. Kind regards Manor Cottages Property Owner

  • "Great end terraced house, with everything you need."

Pleasant surprise to be left a bottle of wine, biscuits and milk. Thank you. Very well furnished and maintained. Situated at the end of a quiet estate. Garden very nice, table chairs, swing and even a bbq. Garden quiet, not overlooked and south facing. About 1/2 mile to village centre, easy walk, along roadside footpaths. Village has numerous pubs, cafes and restaurants. Large Co-op supermarket very close, which is good for your shopping. Restaurants we visited were Rose Tree, Venezia, Mullberry and l’anatra. All were very good, Venezia being the best with l’anatra in last position. Booking is definitely required to get a good evening time, as all are very busy. The property is 5 stars, except for the wi fi which is absolutely useless, switched off, as suggested, over a 100 times during the week and it still doesn’t connect. When it does it is only about 1 Mb/s on an iPad. Can’t use Netflix, YouTube or catch up tv as it is too slow, so never really connects. In summary, excellent house but terrible wi fi.

Thank you for your feedback. I'm sorry to hear that the WiFi is not working properly. We just booked an engineer. All the best Property Owner

Quiet. Locals very welcoming! Comfortable beds, mostly well-equipped, although useful to have some towel storage somewhere (no rails for drying) and clothes horse - washing machine provided but nowhere to dry. Heating quite loud in night so recommend turning it off. All that said, a lovely stay and would recommend / return as very comfortable stay indeed. Lovely garden space too and easy parking. Loved the biscuits and Prosecco on arrival! Just to put into context we shortened our stay elsewhere last 2 years - booked through different company- due to facilities. We stayed the whole week here and loved it. Central to lots of great days out: Birdland, Burford Wildlife and Gardens, Broadway Tower, GWSR steam railway and some Father Brown locations! Recommend The Fox Inn, Broadwell for Sunday lunch - booking a must!

Thank you for your lovely feedback. We are so pleased to see you enjoyed your stay and stayed the whole week!. Lots of great recommendations here for future guests so thank you! We look forward to your return. Property Owner

  • "We had a lovely week’s stay."

The cottage was lovely and cosy and was located in a perfect location in Bourton-on-the-Water as the main centre was only a 10 minutes walk and all nearby villages was only a short drive away, especially Stow-on-the-Wolds. There is a dripping tap in the kitchen which was annoying at times and would have also been useful if there was a dishwasher, although the kitchen is small so we understand why there wasn’t one. The bedrooms were of a good size but the pillows could have been more firmer. Also anyone bringing their fire stick to plug into the tv, be aware to bring the extender as the hdmi port is very narrow but thanks to Amazon we managed to order one! Other than that we had a fab stay and would recommend the cottage to use as a base to explore the Cotswolds.

The property

Located in the centre of the bustling town of Bourton- on-the Water, probably the most popular Cotswolds destination, is this well presented, terraced cottage, The Seventeen.

Set out over two floors, this contemporary styled terraced cottage provides high quality accommodation for friends and families alike.

As soon as you enter the cottage it will become apparent that a good deal of time and thought has been put into providing a comfortable home for guests to enjoy.

On the ground floor you will find the open plan living / dining space, where you can sit and relax after a long day exploring this beautiful area, or spend time with loved ones enjoying a hearty meal prepared in the adjoining fully equipped kitchen.

On the first floor you will find the two beautifully presented double bedrooms (one king size and one double), as well as the beautifully appointed family bathroom.

Outside, to the rear of the cottage, you will find the private, terraced seating area, enjoying all day sunshine in the warmer summer months, and an ideal spot for a bit of al fresco dining.

To the front of the cottage, and ideal; in such a popular tourist spot, you will find two private, allocated parking spaces.

Take a short, ten minute stroll from the cottage, and you will find yourself in the centre of the village, and you will begin to appreciate why Bourton on the Water is referred to by many as 'the Venice of the Cotswolds'.

Stroll along the banks of the river that bisects the town and take in the charm of the many listed buildings dotted throughout the village.

A little further afield you can enjoy other similarly popular destinations, such as The Slaughters (1 mile), Stow on the Wold (4 miles) and Burford (10 miles).

The Seventeen really does provide you with all you need to explore this stunning part of the country.

About the location

BOURTON-ON-THE-WATER

Stow-on-the-Wold 4 miles; Moreton-in-Marsh 8 miles; Chipping Norton 13 miles; Cheltenham 15.5 miles.

Located in the Cotswold Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the historic village of Bourton-on-the-Water dates back to Neolithic times with over 100 buildings being Grade II listed or higher. The picturesque high street nestles alongside the River Windrush over which several low stone bridges span, which is why Bourton-on-the-Water is known as the Venice in the Cotswolds. Tradition states that an annual football match is played in the summer, in the River Windrush with the banks lined with spectators, with the aim to score as many goals as possible and get as wet as possible! The village has an eclectic range of visitor attractions, including The Model Village, Cotswold Motor Museum, Birdland Park and Gardens as well as a Dragonfly Maze, monthly farmers’ market as well as many tea rooms, an artisan bakery, antiques and craft markets, traditional sweet shop, cycle hire and its very own perfumery. Nearby, Stow-on-the-Wold, originally an Iron Age Fort, epitomises traditional England. This ancient market town has played host to many fairs since the 12th century and today holds a biannual Gypsy Horse Fair, craft fairs and monthly farmers' market. The vast market square boasts an ancient cross at one end and the village stocks at the other, surrounded by an elegant array of Cotswold stone townhouses, antiques shops, tea rooms, traditional pubs, award-winning restaurants and its very own cricket museum. Also take a visit to the medieval town of Burford for a great day out where you can enjoy a trip to the Cotswold Wildlife Park and Gardens. The Saxon market town of Moreton-in-Marsh and the quintessential English village of Broadway are both within easy reach and make a great day out. The spa town of Cheltenham is, architecturally, the most complete Regency town in England with an incredible range of shops, cinemas, theatres, restaurants and pubs, it is famous for its horse racing festival in March, culminating in the Gold Cup steeplechase. Oxford, the oldest university city in England and sometimes called The City of Dreaming Spires has an abundance of prestigious attractions, including the 38 colleges of the university (half of which date back before 1600), the oldest university teaching room, the Bodleian Library, Ashmolean and Pitt Rivers Museums, and Botanic Gardens. Stratford-upon-Avon, Bath, Worcester and the waterfront city of Gloucester are also all within easy reach.
