  • "Lovely homely cottage with a perfect location in the middle of town, yet quiet with walled garden."

    Well cleaned, really enjoyed it!

    IreneMay 2021

  • "A lovely cottage in a quiet setting."

We had poor weather so could only sit out at the front once which was a shame. Just be aware you can smell the cooking from the Thai Emerald restaurant if you are not keen on Thai food. The kitchen was extremely well equipped with a bottle of red and biscuits provided.

It was in a perfect position in a quiet mews but in the centre of Cirencester. If I could return tomorrow - I would! Thank you.

  • "If you want to feel you’ve got out the city but still have a taste of shops and village life, this is the perfect place for you."

Nestled down an alley along one of the main strips (yet still not busy) of Cirencester is castle mews. A delightful row of cottages stylishly renovated and well equipped for holiday makers. The cottage itself is roomy and well decorated. The kitchen has everything you need for cooking from home and all in new condition too. The WiFi didn’t glitch once and the cottage also has a TV. Despite being central to Cirencester the cottage itself if extremely quiet. Allowing for a relaxing and peaceful stay. If you come by car you will have to pay for parking but the car parks are very close by.

  • "Has an amazing stay here with my boyfriend and would definitely recommend."

The location was perfect for exploring Cirencester and the surrounding areas. Just a short walk to all the pubs, restaurants, cafes and shops, couldn’t be better. The space itself was also lovely and cosy just what we were wanting.

  • "One of all time favourite airb&b stays."

Cirencester was a great little town to stay in with lots of amenities. The cottage itself was just perfect, with lots of extra thoughtful touches. It was very clean and we were very comfortable being there in COVID times. Thank you so much!

  • "Hidden in the centre of Cirencester, this delightful little cottage is ideal for two to explore the Cotswolds."

  • "The cottage is beautiful with modern and stylish facilities inside."

There is also fantastic patio areas at both front and back which provide outdoor space to relax in the evenings. The location of the cottage is superb and I would highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a relaxing get away.

  • "My girlfriend and I really enjoyed our stay at the cottage."

The property is cosy and charming and was very clean and tidy on arrival. The cottage is very well located in the centre of town and is a couple of minutes walk from numerous restaurants, pubs and cafes as well as local tourist attractions. This is a perfect location from which to explore Cirencester. Despite being central however the cottage is set back from the road and the gated access means that it is very quiet. My girlfriend and I would very much recommend this property to other travellers.

    RossJul 2020

  • "Just 40 steps from the main Street, this cottage is nicely tucked away and fairly quiet considering its location."

Clean and tastefully decorated with all the living essentials you would need for a comfortable stay.

    DeborahJul 2020

  • "Delightful cottage and lovely stay."

    PhilipJun 2020

  • "A pleasant little cottage and a nice very quiet location."

It's in a good position for visiting the town's restaurants and bars (especially if it's raining like I think it did for the whole week I stayed). It's possible to park on the street outside between 6:00pm and 8:00am. I was very pleased with the cleanliness and the bed was very comfortable. If I need to stay in Cirencester in the future I would happily stay here again.

    MatthewMar 2020

  • "This was one of the best holiday homes we have ever rented."

Comfortable, warm, well equipped in a lovely town.

    RachelMar 2020

  • "We stayed three years ago too."

It is so nice to find a holiday home which has been maintained so well. The fixtures, fittings and decor are all still clean and fresh. The property is spotlessly clean and household linen of a high standard.

  • "We loved to stay at this cosy cottage!"

All you need is available. (Kitchen, pots, cutlery, etc.) It was very clean and central located. Pubs, shops, restaurants are within minutes to be reached. We booked the cottage last minute for a New Years break and the booking went smoothly and very quick! so all in all a perfect holiday getaway for exploring Oxford, Bath and the Cotswolds!

It's in a great central location but set back in a courtyard that provides privacy. it's nicely decorated and has a well stocked kitchen. The entire house was very clean when we arrived.

  • "I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this lovely spot."

It's a gorgeous and very comfortable little house, extremely charming. Its location could not be better, right in the very center of Cirencester. SO many things were just minutes away!

The cottage was quaint and just what we needed. Highly recommended.

    BradMar 2018

  • "This is an absolutely charming cottage that’s well equipped for cooking and very accessible."

We stayed at Castle Mews for 4 days and found the place easy to get to by train and surrounded by lots of amenities/walks. Hope to come back again at some point!

    SophiaMar 2018

  • "We really enjoyed our stay at 1 Castle Mews in Cirencester."

The Cottage is located in the heart of old town but back off the main street in a lovely garden. So, even though it was very centrally located in town, it was also very quiet. We loved that it was just up the street from a fantastic coffee shop, Coffee #1, and very close to inexpensive city parking. This was a fantastic home base to explore the Cotswolds and we would highly recommend it as there are a huge number of great restaurants in Cirencester; something you won’t find in the little villages. The cottage itself is amazing. It have an old cottage feel with exposed beams and cozy furnishings, but all the amenities such as the cooking facilities and bathroom are very modern and up to date. You get the best of both worlds! We loved the the cottage guide was exhaustive both on the cottage itself and as a guide to the city and surrounding area. We used the directory of walking routes to explore the amazing city park just down the street from the cottage. This was, literally, the perfect weekend for my fiancée and I. We’d definitely consider staying again.

    JoshuaMar 2018

  • "This cottage in the heart of Cirencester is ideal for a long weekend stay but we could happily have stayed for longer."

It was so lovely to be greeted to a clean, cosy cottage after a long journey. The bottle of Malbec and luxury biscuits were thoughtful and very welcome too. As we didn't have a car, the location was perfect as everything you need and want to see is within walking distance. This place gave us great value for money - the decor inside and out is tasteful and fits in well with what you'd expect from a cottage in the Cotswolds. It was useful to pick up the keys from a safe using the code instead of having to make our host come out and wait for us, given the unreliability of Great Western Railway! Would 100% stay here again when returning to Cirencester. And would recommend coming at this time of year as the Advent market, light switch-on and carol service made it that more magical. Thanks Character Cottages!
