  • "We thought it was a lovely cottage."

Very warm and welcoming when we arrived on a cold wet evening. There was a little cake and some milk. A few minor issues were the lounge curtains were hanging off the rails Some of the windowsills were very dusty and cobwebby. Beds OK but not super comfy. Four logs in the welcome pack did not last long at all. However, the cottage was very well equipped and the owner had thought of every need. We booked for two nights but could only get in at 4pm on first day and had to be gone by 10 am on final day which is hard on wet wintery days. We would like to go there again but maybe in the summer.

Thank you for your feedback with regards to your stay at Little Culver. I will pass on your comments with regards to the little Housekeeping issues. I hope you still had a lovely time at the cottage and we would love to welcome you again in the future. Kind regards Manor Cottages. Property Owner

  • "Great house in a fabulous location."

Really well equipped and nice furnishings and soft towels. Super spot for touring. We loved the village pub and coffee shops and the common, Our only disappointment was the garden. We chose a fabulous week weather wise but we never got the sun as the whole garden is shaded by a large tree in the centre. The pigeons sit there and unfortunately the table underneath was covered each day in mess. That said we will come back to this beautiful place, the house is full of charm

Thank you for your feedback with regards to your stay at Little Culver. It sounds like you had a wonderful time at the house and thank you for the note about the table, we will look to see if we can do anything about this. We hope to welcome you back again very soon. • "A simply lovely cottage, beautifully renovated and made extremely comfortable."

We enjoyed 5 days here, the location was good for sightseeing and the little town of Minchinhampton has pretty much everything you need, a decent butcher and a bakery where you can purchase local milk. The house was immaculately clean on arrival and the host even left us a pint of milk and a chocolate cake which was a nice and thoughtful touch. Would highly recommend

Clean and well equipped. We loved the style of the cottage and the fire place. It would be helpful to have some instructions for house use (turning on heating etc.) Thank you for a lovely stay.

Thank you for your lovely feedback with regards to your stay at Little Culver. It's always wonderful to hear how much guests have enjoyed the stay and i hope you managed to make the most of the lovely walks all around us. I'm sorry you struggled to find the welcome folder, it's normally left on the coffee table and has all the information about the house and area, with lots of things to do and pretty much everything you should need for your stay. G. welcome cake) that made us feel welcome. Liked the enclosed garden for our dog and the furnishings were attractive whilst also making life with a dog easy (e.g. stone floors downstairs). Lovely and warm and great location - no problems with finding parking spaces. Several friends/families came to see us for tea and cakes and were also very complimentary about how nice the cottage was.

We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay at Little Culver and all the extra touches! Best wishes, Character Cottages Property Owner

  • "This is our second stay at Little Culver, a beautiful cottage in the lovely little town of Minchinhampton."

The accommodation is spotlessly clean and well equipped. Tea, coffee and cake provided on arrival! The courtyard garden deserves a special mention, a completely private and very secure space where our pooch was safe to explore and sniff without fear of escape. The only tiny improvement would be a slightly bigger freezer provision. We hope to return again next year.

The house itself is cosy with a beautiful kitchen and backyard area. We went as a group of 5 friends and it was perfect, cooking in the kitchen as a group and dining outside in the evening. The property comes with lots of games and all the amenities you would need for a stay. The village is beautiful with plenty of cafes and pubs within a few minutes walk, with bigger towns very close by. Accessing the building at the beginning of the trip was super simple and easy. Absolutely loved staying here and would definitely recommend.

It’s spotlessly clean, cosmetically pleasing and very comfortable. This is our second visit here, I will be booking again for a third visit. The only slight negative is the lack of parking facilities but this is more of an minor inconvenience than a problem, you can park a short walk away. Local dog friendly pub (The Crown) is good too. Beautiful holiday spot.

Amazing to hear you had another lovely stay at the cottage. Thank you so much for returning and we very much look forward to welcoming you again in the future. Property Owner

We rocked up with 5 people and found there to be plenty of room for everyone. The Garden was well kept and a really chilled out place to hangout in the sunshine. No negative comments here! The one thing I would say is to bring cash with you because many of the local establishments don’t take cards.

  • "Little Culver was perfect for a short break, it was lovely to be able to walk to get everything that we needed as the weather was horrible!"

The cottage is really well equipped, we particularly appreciated that the kitchen equipment is of very good quality which is great if you are keen cooks. The surrounding area is lovely, lots and lots to see and do, but we mostly sat by the fire! Particularly recommend the Jolly Nice farm shop, great produce and also have firewood and food to take away. Keri

  • "Really wonderful stay I couldn’t recommend it more, amazing house with wonderful decor, all the amenities that you could need and want."

Amazing quality linen, furniture and welcome notes and suggestions to help you feel immediately at home. Well done on the best ‘home away’ that we have ever stayed in! Ps The Kitchen cafe was amazing for breakfast the Irish lady was fab, the butchers also very affordable (cheaper than a supermarket in my eyes). Henry’s was closed but looked lovely. One of the nicest and most original towns of those locally. Glad we stayed here!

The property

Little Culver is a stunning and unique Cotswold stone property, built in 1821, forming the right-hand of a beautiful castellated Grade II listed building, Culver Cottage, nestled in Minchinhampton.

The property has been lovingly refurbished internally, whilst retaining its character features, and is a perfect base for a family or group of friends seeking a relaxing break in the stunning Cotswolds.

As you approach the property, you will marvel at the stunning architecture and gothic style windows as you walk through the ornate arched doorway, into the shared lobby, and through the front door of Little Culver, which opens into a beautiful and spacious sitting room adorned with antique maps and artwork, with welcoming seating for you and your loved ones to snuggle into on a cold evening, watching your favourite TV show whilst the warmth from the woodburning stove keeps the room toasty.

Further into the property you will find the stylish and contemporary kitchen/diner that overlooks the back garden and contains everything the budding chef requires to coo up a delicious meal as you all retreat around the large dining table to enjoy your food.

A handy utility room is accessed from the garden and contains a washing machine and tumble dryer, perfect for making use of so you can go home with a bag full of clean washing, as well as a basin and WC.

The enclosed courtyard garden catches the afternoon sun and has inviting seating as well as a chiminea and charcoal barbecue to make use of in summer months.

Heading upstairs, the master bedroom is full of character and has lovely views overlooking the garden containing a double bed, the second and third bedrooms are perfect for children and contain twin beds and a single bed.

Completing the property is a lovely bathroom where you can enjoy a relaxing soak amongst the bubbles in the bath.

At Little Culver, you are situated close to amenities such as The Crown Inn pub as well as a village shop, a post office, an independent butcher, and two well-regarded cafés, Henry’s and The Kitchen, where you can enjoy a delicious breakfast before heading to either of the vibrant market towns of Nailsworth and Stroud where you will find a wide range of things to do including the beautiful Sladebank Woods in Stroud and Woodchester Mansion and Park in Nailsworth.

Little Culver is also well located for visiting the spa town of Bath, where you can take a tour of the famous Roman Baths which are well-preserved thermae, a temple constructed on the site between 60-70AD in the first few decades of Roman Britain – a very educational and interesting day out for all, where you can finish your day with a delicious meal at one of the many restaurants Bath has to offer.

For an unforgettable holiday, stay at Little Culver.
