  • "We found the property in an ideal location, just a short easy walk into Broadway."

The cleanliness was to a very high standard, no faults there. Only two minor faults. Could do with a better shower, the second fault is a personnel choice, although the biscuits and crisps are a nice touch, please get better crisps.

Thank you for your feedback. We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay. The owners have plans to renovate the bathroom this month. Best wishes, Manor Cottages Property Owner

  • "Cottage was very nice I only have one complaint not enough towels and no heated towel rail for drying towels."

I did make a phone call to get more towels which were dropped off to us definitely would be better with heated towel rail

Thank you for your feedback with regards to your stay at Maple Cottage. It's lovely to hear you enjoyed your stay with us, i hope you managed to see the Broadway Tower, just down the road. With regards to the heated towel rail, we will pass on your comment to the Owner for review, so thank you for your comment. I'm glad to hear you got the extra towels. Kind regards Manor Cottages. • "Beds uncomfortable."

One they must have known was a problem because a topper had been fitted. Problem previously reported by another guest regarding the boiler had not been addressed. You cannot have a bath without the boiler cutting off before you hardly have any hot water. Dog kennels extremely noisy 5.30am Saturday morning. Noise at other times, but Saturday seemed to be the worst. On a positive note, the kitchen was well stocked.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear of the issues you experienced. We can confirm since your stay, the Owner has replaced all the mattresses in the cottage. We hope you enjoyed exploring the lovely village of Broadway. Best wishes Manor Cottages Property Owner

  • "Lovely cottage close to centre of Broadway ."

.. there is a footpath that takes you into the village itself. It might be helpful if this was mentioned in the information pack - the first day we came back the long way, following the road , but discovered the more convenient path by chance The cottage is well equipped with everything we needed

Thank you for your feedback and for your suggestions. We have passed this on to the property manager to update. We are pleased that you enjoyed your holiday. Best wishes, Manor Cottages Property Owner

  • "Overall all was very acceptable."

There was however a lack of instruction leaflets for some appliances. Major complaint would be requirement to leave property by 9am

Thank you for your feedback. We can only apologise for the lack of instructions, and we appreciate that the check-out time is rather early. We hope that these issues did not leave a lasting impact on your stay and hope to welcome you again in the future. Best wishes, Manor Cottages. Property Owner

  • "In our observations, there is evidence of black mould around the bath taps & in the grouting in the same area."

Hazardous to an asthema sufferer. Also the bathroom extractor fan was pretty caked up with dirt. The bathroom floor was very slippery when wet & worse when the bath mat was on it. A full length mirror would be a great asset, particularly for the ladies &, again for the ladies, a power point near the dressing table for their hair styling equipment would be an asset. There is a severe lack of power points in the kitchen. All in all, taking the above into consideration, it is not a bad cottage with just a short car ride into Broadway itself.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're pleased that you overall enjoyed the cottage and it's location, however are disappointed to hear your comments about the bathroom. We are following up with the cleaner to look into this. Best wishes, Manor Cottages Property Owner

  • "Lovely comfortable cottage in an absolutely ideal position for walking into Broadway & getting about."

Our stay was during a heatwave so perhaps not the ideal time for a review as the conservatory was so hot it was like stepping into an oven, more blinds needed to stop the sun please! Only a couple of small other niggles, could have done with a grab bar for getting out of the shower, found myself trying to hold onto the basin to get safely out & found the mirror in the back bedroom not in the most ideal of places, would be more accessible if was moved to the wall by the wardrobe but we still had an enjoyable stay.

We are pleased to hear you found the location ideal for walking and hope you took the circular walk towards Broadway Tower as it is stunning. We will forward your other comments onto the property owner for consideration. With best wishes Manor Cottages Property Owner

Perfectly located to stroll to the high street and an easy to access no-stress private parking space. Really nice estate, quiet but friendly. Outdoor space was ideal for morning coffee or evening beer

  • "Excellent location and so good to hsve a car parking space and a garden seating area."

However the shower was not really very functional. It was practically a trickle and didn’t really make you feel like you had had a proper wash.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback and we're glad that you enjoyed your stay despite the issue with the shower. We have passed this on to the housekeeper and hope very much that this didn't impact your stay. Property Owner

Dealing with Sykes very easy The only thing I wish we had was a washing machine (muddy walks and rainy weather) but this didn't detract from experience and would visit again! Thanks !

  • "This cottage has so much to offer but we left feeling disappointed and having spent up to a day of our holiday dealing with unnecessary problems."

There are two key errors in the listing. Firstly, the checkout time is advertised as being 10am when it is actually a rigid 9am. This would not be a problem for most but we have a disabled son who struggles in the morning so we had to leave the night before. We had this issue hanging over us for most of the week - we raised the issue on the Monday but didn't get a definitive response until the Thursday (and then had to start packing to leave that night). Secondly, there is no washer-dryer (not a problem for us but would be for others). We had to wait in twice for the lovely maintenance man. There were no instructions for the heating and despite our best efforts with Google, we could not get it working on a cold October day. This was easily avoidable. We then had problems with the bathroom door sticking and nearly got locked in so had to call for help again. The toilet roll holder was also falling off and clattering in the night so that required fixing. There was a lack of instructions in the property so we spent quite a while trying to figure out the TV and took a while to master the hob. The instructions for putting the bin out were incorrect so we moved it from the back of the house to the front when it wasn't needed - not a problem for us but might have been for more elderly guests. Again all avoidable things. Much of the cottage is so beautifully furnished and designed but why have a broken clock in the kitchen (we tried changing the batteries), a missing lamp in one of the bedrooms, a door on the bathroom cabinet that needed tightening up as it was starting to drop and mould on a corner of the bath? As stated above, we spent a lot of time trying to resolve problems. It isn't the way you want to spend your holiday. We have never left a negative review before. There is so much about this cottage that is great -and had circumstances been different, we would have been looking to rebook - but we left feeling let down by a plethora of completely unnecessary issues which detracted from our holiday. (PS - and not part of the review - we did not know how to rate our Sykes experience as we dealt with Manor Cottages)

Many thanks for taking your time to feedback on Maple Cottage. Your communication clearly states that it is a 9am check out due to housekeeping availability. Apologies for the mistake in the listing of the washer/dryer - this has now been rectified. All instructions are in the kitchen drawer to the right of the sink and their location is stated in the welcome folder. We are glad that our lovely maintenance man managed to fix all the issues within hours of the phone calls being received. Manor Cottages Property Owner

  • "Maple cottage is perfectly positioned in a quiet residential area, a very short walk from the bustle of Broadway with its lovely holiday atmosphere and individual little shops, places to eat or takeaway."

    - and so convenient for local co-op shop selling everything you might need. The house is the essence of cleanliness and comfort - little welcoming touches from the owner, wine, biscuits, etc. We had the perfect holiday visiting local beauty spots like Bourton on the Water and national trust properties, too. Highlight was the steam train from Broaadway itself, to Cheltenham on a line of most gloriously restored stations.real nostalgic. I would love to stay again at Maple cottage.
