  • "Lovely little cottage that does what it says on the tin."

While small, it had everything we needed, was clean, super-comfy, very very quiet, in short - we loved it. Its location through the small alleyway meant that one would not hear a single noice at night, heaven. Heating worked a treat, and the shower -while small - was nice and hot. Parking a super bonus! Wifi ok for your general Social Media checks. Communcation with Greg was easy and swift, we can really recommend this property and would love to return.

Thank you so much for this lovely review. We're delighted you enjoyed your peaceful stay at The Bolt Hole and would love to welcome you again. Best wishes Manor Cottages Property Owner

  • "Nice little cottage in a great location - five min walk to the centre of Broadway and two min walk from the trail to the Broadway Tower."

The cottage is very cosy for two people but wouldn't be suitable for any more than two. The kitchen is basic but has all the facilities you need. Nice cosy lounge with TV but could do with blinds or something at the windows, as people can look straight in as they walk past the property. The batroom has a shower which is small but adequate but the water takes forever to drain out of the sink. The bed is comfortable and the bedroom snug and compact. All in all, a good property in a great location and we would be happy to recommend a stay here.

We are pleased you liked the cottage and its convenient location. We will pass your comments onto the owner. Thank you for recommending The Bolt Hole. Best wishes Manor Cottages Property Owner

  • "It was advertised as The Bolt Hole when in fact it was called The Grannary , so it was hard to find , told to take dishwasher tablets , no dishwasher ."

The weather was extremely hot . The bedroom is in the eve’s and very hot , the bed sheets didn’t fit the bed the mattress was foam so really hot to sleep on But saying all the negatives the place and the surrounding were outstanding such a pretty small cottage and such a pretty place . The owner was very pleasant and explained how to find the cottage fully . Carol and Brian Tamworth

Thank you for your feedback with regards to your stay at The Bolt Hole. I'm sorry you had issues finding the house, it's the first time it's happened, but we will review the details. With regards to the dishwasher, unfortunately the cottage hasn't got one, due to the size of the cottage, it just hasn't got room. The bed is in the eve and we will suggest to the owner maybe putting a small fan in the bedroom. The mattress is a personal preference and guest have found it comfortable. We will pass on your comments to the owner for review. Property Owner

  • "Cosy cottage."

However, certain aspects need to be rectified. Bedside lamps not working, lack of ovenware , instructions for the oven, no bin bags provided. Despite these issues a pleasant place to stay.

Thank you for your feedback. It's great to hear that you enjoyed your stay at The Bolt Hole. We really appreciate your honesty on issues you encountered during your stay and will take your suggestions for improvement into full consideration. We hope to welcome you back to the cottage any time in the future. Property Owner

Not enough cupboards in kitchen. Dark lounge. Television remote requires changing. Outside furniture well worn needs replacing

  • "The cottage is very good with clever use of the space available."

It has a great courtyard which made the holiday. It may be a bit small if the weather keeps you inside. Would recommend and may even return.

  • "While the Bolt Hole itself was ok I felt that the cleanig needed some attention."

I did speak with Mr Delaney about this to make him aware that I thought the cleaners could be a bit more conscientious. The freezer compartment of the fridge was in dire need of a defrost. The baking sheet in the oven was full of grease and had not been washed. I think this should have been done by whoever made it dirty, but the cleaners could have checked it. There was fluff and dust in the shower room, especially behind the folding door, and the bin in the shower room was really dirty with dried fluff stuck to it. There is a sloping ceiling over the shower room that had fluff and dustwebs rolling down in a long line over the shower room door and the sloping ceiling needed a good sweep. Windowsills were dusty. The storage bins under the bed would have been useful, but needed to be vacuumed. I also have a suggestion regarding the "wheelie bins". They supply three holdiay apartments and are all stored in the garden of the Bolt Hole. When we arrived they were absolutely overflowing. It would be better if the bins were hidden away in a storage unit, especially with summer around the corner. On the good side, the bed was very comfortable, and the area was also quiet. Broadway is lovely town with plenty of shops and places to eat. We have used Sykes Cottages a few times now, and have always found them to be exceptional; we have another holiday booked in a few weeks time, and I would like to think that it is money well spent. While we enjoyed our stay in the Cotswolds, it was marred by cleaners that could and should have been more conscientious.

  • "Superb location in the centre of lovely Broadway."

Parking a bonus. Amazing the comfort and facilities in such a small property. The weather was not too good but we can imagine the court yard space would be a great quiet suntrap.

  • "The brochure stated the cottage had a wood burning stove."

It never has had one. Two comfy arm chairs would be better than a plastic settee and maybe a rug to make the sitting area more cosy.

  • "Absolutely loved our holiday at The Bolt Hole."

Yes it’s small, and low ceilings did cause a few problems for my husband who’s 6’7, but perfectly laid out, loads of storage and a great secure outside area, kitchen grill a little difficult to use, hence small reduction in scores. Would def stay again

  • "The cottage was lovely , prime location with parking."

Fixtures and fitting were of a high standard. Our only disappointment was that for the whole of our stay we could not connect to the cottage Internet and there was no other signal for 3G.

  • "We have stayed here twice now, and both times it's been a great experience."

The cottage is perfect for a couple looking for a quiet break - it has everything you need, is warm, comfortable and a very cleverly renovated place. The owners have clearly put a lot of effort into gettting it just right, from their use of space to the quality of the finishing. Broadway itself is beautiful, with a couple of great places to eat (Russell's fish and chips!), an excellent little deli, and some lovely pubs too.

  • "Just returned from a 2 night stay, such a little cute place."

It's amazing how you can put everything you need into such a little area. Perfect for 2. Lovely and warm, great shower, everything we could wish for to have a relaxing weekend away. 5 minute walk to the centre, perfect!

  • "We spent a relaxing 3 nights at this cottage, it is lovely very clean and comfortable."

Broadway is a beautiful village with good walks. There is a good choice of places to eat and drink. All in all an ideal place to visit for a long or short break. We will definitely return one day.

The property

Hidden in a quiet corner of Broadway's High Street, this gorgeous and romantic retreat offers a perfect option for a couple looking to enjoy some peace and quiet in one of the Cotswolds most attractive villages.

Located down a little private pathway, this delightful little barn conversion offers smart, cleverly designed self catering accommodation that is stylish and appealing.

The ground floor has a Living Room and galley kitchen - well equipped indeed, while upstairs is a sweet bedroom in the eaves.

Outside is an enclosed, private courtyard garden which faces south and is a bit of a sun trap.

What really got us excited though, was the location, as it is rare to find a cottage like this at the 'top' of the High Street, which means you are in the prime spot, surrounded by stunning Cotswolds buildings and very much in the heart of quintessential England.

So sweet you could eat it!
