  • "Thoroughly enjoyed our stay - being super critical, a heated towel rail would be good and out of date instructions relating to the Covid period have been left in place by the front door which was a little confusing."

  • "Lovely property in a beautiful village."

Great bedrooms and lounge and kitchen. Bathroom needs some smartening up and could do with an extractor as there is no window. A teapot would have been good. A grab handle to help get into the bath for the shower would have helped.

Thank you for providing us with feedback on your stay at The Old Cider Press. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed your time away and appreciate your suggestions for improvement. We will take these into full consideration and hope to welcome you again one day in the future. Best wishes, Manor Cottages. Property Owner

  • "Such a lovely place to stay, well equipped, clean and cosy."

.. we felt at home immediately and didn't want to leave at the end of our holiday. It was perfectly situated with great access to many beautiful local attractions; Batstone Arboretum, Snowshill Manor and Cotswold Lavender to name a few; however, one of the nicest parts was just sitting in the front garden at the end of the day enjoying the last rays of sun (yes, we had sun!)

Thank you for your wonderful feedback. We are delighted to hear that you had a great stay. Best wishes, Manor Cottages Property Owner

  • "The house overall could not be faulted."

Well furnished, very comfortable and everything needed was provided. Really felt guests had been carefully thought about. Only small negative was the bathroom, which perhaps needs some attention. We could not get the radiator to work, so it was very cold in there. The bathroom is the one room that needs to be warm. The shower head was too big to allow the water to flow properly with the pressure available. And lastly, the toilet seat is not so much 'soft close, more push hard! Have to emphasis, however, it was a super place and we'd happily go,back there.

Thank you for your feedback. We will pass your comments onto our Managed Services Team for them to investigate. We are glad you were pleased with the house and hope to welcome you back again. Best wishes Manor Cottages Property Owner

  • "The mattress for the baby cot looks very Dirty."

The kitchen towels are old and dirty looking. There was no bodywash or shampoo provided. Would be helpful to state this on the listing then guests can bring their own for sure. Front garden wasn’t tidy. The pillows were very flat. We stayed for 6 days and only one bath towel was provided per person. Two towels per person for a long stay is hygienic. Overall a lovely cottage.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear of the issues that you encountered during your stay and we will make sure these are rectified for a better guest experience. We would love to welcome you back anytime in the future to The Old Cider Press and thank you once again for providing us with your feedback. Property Owner

Far below expectations and struggled to get a comfortable nights sleep all week, put a real dampener on our stay. Bathroom fine, but looks very tired. Living space cosy and homely.

  • "A fabulous location and this was our first holiday after the last lock down ."

We live only 20 minutes away but wanted to get away to and this fitted the bill brilliantly . The Old Cider Press is a very characterful property to stay in with its quirky snug library at the top via a spiral staircase as well as the bedrooms being on the ground floor. The local pub at the top of the hill - The Mount Inn was very good after a steep(ish) hill walk. Plus great local walking to Stanway is very scenic be via the path or road . Plus a few minutes’ drive to GWR Steam railway at Toddington as well as local shops.

We really were in a secret little bit of heaven. We had fantastic weather to enjoy the glorious walks and scenery. We even managed to get a table at the Mount Inn, in front of a roaring fire and enjoy one of their legendary Sunday Roasts! It was a perfect location as a base to then explore the rest of the Cotswolds. we will definitely be returning.

  • "It would have been good to know that there were some food supplies there before we brought our own."

It would have helped to know that The Mount Inn in the village is closed on Mondays (the day of our arrival), and that booking ahead is essential, not just advised. We arrived there about 7 p.m. on Tuesday, to be told that they had no room, and booked for the following evening. As it happened, we might have had trouble returning to the cottage, as there had been a fire in a storage barn in the High Street, which was taped off, with 5 fire engines in attendance when we returned from a meal in Broadway! We were a little perturbed that there was no ventilation in the bathroom. With 4 of us having showers within a short space of time, it became very steamy! We solved the problem by leaving the bathroom and front doors open for some time afterwards, but this wouldn't be a sensible option later in the year

It had a lovely atmosphere and was beautifully appointed. Everywhere was clean and well laid out. We found the brilliant jigsaws and ended up doing them in the evenings! Fantastic pub/restaurant in the village. Stanton is very picturesque and it was lovely to have a stroll around such beautiful countryside. We would definitely come back.

The property

Set within arguably one of the prettiest villages in the Cotswolds, enveloped by superb sightseeing opportunities and with the local pub just a 10-minute walk away, is The Old Cider Press.

This homely retreat nestles within a beautiful thatched cottage, one of three properties, with its own private patio at the rear and a designated parking space.

Feel immediately welcomed by the reverse level accommodation, making the most of the original framework, with exposed beams and traditional-style furniture.

Two king-size double bedrooms rest on ground level, with ample storage space and soothing décor, allowing for a peaceful night's rest.

They share a tiled bathroom, which showcases a bath with a shower over and a neutral finish.

There is also a utility cupboard housing a washing machine, to complete this floor.

Climb the staircase to the open-plan living room, which offers a bright and airy feel.

Make yourselves at home on the sumptuous sofa and if nothing takes your fancy on the TV, why not get out one of the board games you brought along?

Get cosy in front of the electric stove on a cool winter's evening and take in the peaceful ambiance wrapped around the cottage.

The kitchen continues a traditional feel, yet is fully equipped and poses sleek worktops for a quality feel.

Cook up a tasty meal and gather around the dining table in one corner of the room, before polishing off a delicious bottle of wine.

There is also an enchanting spiral staircase you can climb, for a quiet read on the mezzanine landing.

On a warm, summer's afternoon, sit out on the patio and chill with a drink, getting that much-needed rest you have been waiting for.

Outside the cottage you will also find one designated, off-road parking space.

Explore the delightful surrounding towns and villages; Broadway is a mere few miles away with shops, restaurants and galleries.
