  • "Had a wonderful two nights stay, such a beautiful house in a perfect location to explore Broadway."

My only feedback would be the house was very cold on arrival and took a while to heat up, not sure if it had been empty for a while? Logs supplied for the fire for the first night would have been nice, kindling was left but no logs. Everything else was perfect

Thank you for this lovely feedback. We're so glad you enjoyed your stay at Yarn Cottage and loved the location too. We have established that the logs were left under the stairs so will ensure they are more visible in future! Instructions regarding the underfloor heating are provided, together with additional radiators if required during particularly cold weather. We hope this didn't impact your stay and that we can welcome you again. Best wishes Manor Cottages Property Owner

  • "The cottage location was the main draw for us and didn’t disappoint!"

The cottage itself is spacious, comfortable and laid out well for a family - enough room for people to have their space or be together. The mattress in the four poster room is one of the most comfortable beds I’ve ever slept on! You can tell the owner is making her way through to re-decorate room by room as some were lovely and others still need a bit of a touch up - in the four poster room there was a yellow stain on the carpet for example that I can only assume was a previous dog tenant! The owner was on hand and helpful and the kitchen well equipped. The only slight issue for us was the cleanliness. The hob needed a clean before we were happy to use it, there were dead bugs on the windowsill in the bedroom, a sticky patch on the floor in the front room where something must have been spilled previously and not wiped up. Aside from this, it’s a lovely cottage with great potential in a beautiful location.

Thank you for your feedback with regards to your stay at Yarn Cottage. It's lovely to hear you enjoyed the cottage and the location. We have passed on your comments regarding cleaning to the Owner/Housekeeper, who assures that the house is cleaned to a very high standard. All the mattresses and bedding were replaced with new in April. The carpet stain was due an accidental paint spill, which had been treated. The carpet is being replaced this month. The owner is very particular in ensuring that her properties are presented to a high standard, by regularly refreshing and upgrading to make certain that her guests have a comfortable stay. We hope to welcome you back again in the future for another holiday. Kind regards Manor Cottages. Property Owner

  • "We all loved our stay at Yarn Cottage, despite the wet and windy weather."

The welcome pack as by far the best we have every had in any cottage stay, and the owner Kate is delightful. Just a note to say that the car parking area is a little misleading as we tried without success to access the next doors property as it is not immediately recognised, it is not the gate which is next to the property. That said the location is perfect, welcoming and homely.

Thank you for your lovely feedback. We are so glad to hear that you enjoyed your time away and we want you to know that we are available if you needed any assistance with parking instructions. We hope that this did not leave a lasting impact on your stay and that we can welcome you again in the future. Best wishes, Manor Cottages. Property Owner

  • "We had a very pleasant stay at Yarn Cottage."

Facilities were as described and the location was great. Our group of 6 adults and a dog were very comfortable and enjoyed our stay. The lack of TV aerial was an issue as the internet signal varied somewhat and was lost too often in the main lounge. There was no information on how and what to recycle, just the one general waste wheelie bin. Other properties had 3 wheelie bins.

Thank you for your feedback. We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay at Yarn Cottage. The owner has now fitted a new TV Aerial, so all channels and Netflix are available to watch. Thank you for raising these points. The property is only given 1 wheelie bin by the local council. Best wishes, Manor Cottages Property Owner

  • "We booked and paid for a 4 bed property to find out 3 weeks before holiday that it was now a 3 bed property."

'garden' is the car park for 1 car. 'free parking' in area was none existent. other than conservatory, rooms very dark and full of gimmicky tat. kitchen - crockery and cutlery excellent. equipment poor. unmarked step up from conservatory to kitchen H&S hazard! Beds comfortable. no instructions for recycling, leaving property etc. photographs were accurate, but appearance of rooms misleading

Thank you for providing feedback on your stay at Yarn Cottage. We’re sorry some aspects of the property were not to your taste, overall Yarn Cottage receives very good feedback and guests find it a comfortable property. The photos of the property are recent following the updates made by the owner, and these do show the step down from the conservatory into the kitchen (each room has different flooring to help distinguish the materials). The kitchen contains a microwave and slow cooker as well as additional cookware and bakeware. A commercial refuge collection service is used at Yarm Cottage and the recycling is sorted at the depot. We do hope that you made the most of the location and were able to enjoy all the Broadway has to offer. Best wishes, Manor Cottages Property Owner

  • "Yarn cottage is a fabulous place to stay and in an amazing location."

There is so much space and character and the owner is really helpful and accommodating. There were a couple of niggles due to the change of ownership with some of the amenities but the new owner Kate dealt with everything brilliantly. So lovely to find a cottage that is both beautiful and dog friendly and an owner so supportive of dog friendly accommodation.

  • "We originally chose this cottage as a 4 bedroom, we are 4 ladies of a certain age who holiday together every year."

The new owner has changed it to 3 bedroom which really is right, all 3 bedrooms are a good size and very comfortable. It did mean 2 of us had to share, we were informed of the change too last minute to make alternative arrangements. The cottage is certainly now stylish, kitchen could do with a rethink. Sink and drainer are awkward, we couldn't reach some of the crockery and there were only 2 serving dishes. TVs are challenging if you are not really familiar with smart tvs, scant instructions. We ended up not bothering. Pointless having an enormous tv if you cant watch it. The downstairs bedroom would be better off with a shower room than a slipper bath, the bedroom is certainly large enough to accommodate. The room is cold too. More detail on the parking area would have been appreciated as when we arrived we were trying to open the wrong gate! It is also very tight to get into. Having said all this, we loved the cottage and would go back again! So central for Broadway and the area. Owner was very responsive when we had queries. It was a lovely week.

Thank you for your feedback. We have passed your comments onto the owner. We are pleased you enjoyed your stay and found the convenience of being central in the lovely village of Broadway. Best wishes Manor Cottages Property Owner

  • "Lovely House; great location."

It was a bit dark in places but the conservatory area where the big table is, is lovely and we did probably use that area the most all week. Negatives - The downstairs bedroom was quite cold - even in the warm sunshine this week - but there is no heating in there and so I wouldn't like to use that room in the winter. Also, I did send a separate email about the door handle in downstairs toilet which fell off immediately that room was used and so that needs properly fixing. Overall a very nice place and I would consider staying there again.

Thank you for your feedback. These comments have been passed on to the owner but we would like to mention that there is underfloor heating in the cottage which is available when necessary. We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay at Yarn Cottage. Best wishes, Manor Cottages Property Owner

  • "We had a wonderful stay at Yarn Cottage, celebrating our 25th Wedding Anniversary."

The property was beautiful and had everything we needed for our holiday. Only a 2 minute walk into Broadway town was a bonus too. We would highly recommend this property and hope to be returning sometime in the future.

Hi Sharon Thankyou for your lovely feedback We only purchased the property in April and have been working really hard in between bookings to decorate and improve the cottage to make it a great place to stay. We have a program of improvements yet to carry out including improved fitted wardrobes and larger en-suites, one for every bedroom. Also Improving the access for more parking, landscaping the patio and extending the kitchen into the conservatory with bifold doors for an indoor outdoor feeling. I'm so happy that you enjoyed your stay and hope that you will return soon Best wishes and a happy 25th Year ! Kate and Pete Property Owner

The property

A charming and beautifully presented property, Yarn Cottage is the perfect setting from which to discover the delights of the Cotswolds.

Located just yards from the High Street of the bustling town of Broadway, referred to by many as 'the jewel of The Cotswolds', it makes an exceptional base all-year-round for your family retreat.

Dating back to the 1700s, what was once a row of three terraced cottages, Yarn Cottage has been transformed into a single dwelling (a process continued by the current owners) offering cool and contemporary accommodation.

On entering the cottage, visitors are immediately struck by the feeling of light and space; the entrance hall has a large storage area for coats and boots with boutique style artwork and vintage embroideries.

A large, sun-filled dining and sitting room runs across the entire length of the cottage, offering somewhere to dine with friends or family, or to simply seek a few moments of rest and relaxation.

The lounge/cinema room offers a generous 65” Smart TV so you can curl up and indulge in your favourite Netflix series whilst the snug is darker and offers the ideal spot to kick back and lose yourself in a good book.

The ground floor accommodation also provides you with a cloakroom, a beautifully equipped kitchen complete with all mod cons, as well as the most recent addition, a luxurious ground-floor super-king-size bedroom with freestanding slipper bath.

Dine together as a group at the dining room, featuring seating for eight guests and a surrounded large mirror with Ivy and fairlights.

Take the stairs to the first floor and you will find two further bedrooms, a four-poster super-king-size with en-suite shower room and a super-king-size with zip/link beds, serviced by a family bathroom.

Each of the bedrooms features tea and coffee making stations, quality velvet curtains, feather pillows and dormer and fogerty feather down duvets.

Outside, enjoy a spot of alfresco dining in the private, enclosed patio at the rear of the cottage.

When you get out and about to explore the town, you will immediately be struck by the history that surrounds you; 50 yards from the cottage you will find yourself on the High Street, previously the 'broad way', leading from the foot of the western Cotswolds escarpment with a wide grass-fringed street lined with ancient honey-coloured limestone buildings dating back to the 16th century and earlier, with the oldest house in the area being Abbots Grange built in 1320 as the summer retreat for the Abbots of Pershore, as well as the High Street being rumoured to be one of the longest in England!

The High Street itself, with its vast array of historic pubs, cafés and restaurants, as well as quirky, independent shops is reason enough to visit the town.

However, if more distractions are required then if you are feeling fit, take the walk up Fish Hill and visit the historic Broadway Tower and take in the stunning scenery.

Alternatively if you are not feeling quite so energetic, take the short drive to Snowshill and visit the ancient Manor House.

The gorgeous town of Chipping Campden can be found just under six miles from Broadway; frequently voted the prettiest town in England, and if you time it right you may be able to see the ‘Olimpick’ Games, believed to have started in 1612 by Robert Dover, today the games feature such quaint local contests as 'shin-kicking' held each May, where visitors are invited to take part!

Yarn Cottage really is the perfect base, for friends and families, to explore this beautiful part of the Cotswolds.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £300.
