  • "The property is really fabulous, very clean, modern and well equipped."

The views over the river are beautiful and the location is perfect. Literally a stones throw from two very different pubs to suit different tastes. Located on the edge of town so it’s quiet yet only a couple of minutes to walk to the start of the shops and restaurants. A really generous welcome pack awaited our arrival which set us up nicely for a lovely breakfast with a view. The owners really are very kind, friendly and went above and beyond to welcome us, ensuring we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. We’ll definitely be back

The welcome pack in the kitchen was a nice touch too. The flat was central to town about 5 minutes walk to the centre and the views from the lounge bay window were stunning. The kitchen had everything you needed apart from nowhere to keep frozen goods. There was a good shower and no problems with access or privacy issues. The car parking permit was a benefit. Ross is a lovely small town with good pubs, resturants, tap / brewery's and ample coffee/tea shops. There were three good restaurants within a few minutes walk, the Man 'O Ross and Hope and Anchor pubs and the Royal Hotel. There's easy access to tourist locations including Hereford, Symonds Yat, Welsh Castles, cider museum and farm a short drive away. We would certainly revisit.

We booked 4 nights in Wye View, and what a view from the living room window. The weather was super and for once we were a little disappointed we didn't get a huge thunderstorm during the night! The appartement didn't disappoint us, it was comfy and well appointed . Having the parking permit was a plus. During the day time, the street is busy with tourists like ourselves and nice and quiet in the evening. The owners had also arranged a breakfast welcome pack which was greatly appreciated. Ross-on-Wye is a charming town with pubs, resturants and coffee/tea shops all on your doorstep, but it is hilly, so maybe not suitable for everyone, fortunatley we didn't have any problem and the property is all on one level. Wye View - Perfect holiday and we would highly recommend it.

Virtually everything is spot on - from its location to the way the flat is equipped and presented. It has a major issue in the En suite is laid out - it has no door between the bathroom and the bedroom. I don't think many people would be comfortable using the room with a partner in the bedroom. I hope the owners fit a door because then the flat would be ideal for couples staying in Ross on Wye.

We said at the property in February 2023. We found the property to be clean and comfortable with more than adequate facilities. There was a very generous welcome pack (thank you) as well as plenty of tea and coffee should it be required. The property was ideally located for local pubs, restaurants and shops of which there were many. The property overlooked the river Wye where there were some good walks along the river and into the town centre. The property was reasonably priced and we would not hesitate to stay here again.

  • "It is my view that the apartment did not meet the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order (2005) as the front door could only be opened with a key from the inside once locked, it should have a thumb turn."

The main lounge sash window did not lock so it didn’t feel secure and with only one key provided for the only door if one of us was staying in the apartment while the other popped out we had to leave the door unlocked otherwise we couldn’t have escaped if there had been a fire. The bed and pillows were very hard and gave us both back and hip pain. We had to buy pillows as the ones provided gave us neck pain. We were given 1 bath towel each plus one hand towel to share between us for a whole week. We could hear the bathroom light switch on and the extractor fan running from one of the other apartments which woke us at night. Lots of noise at night from people passing the bedroom window, the bed was positioned directly under it and traditional sash windows were not effective in blocking out the noise. Very little space either side of the bed, I’m not sure how people of larger build would manage it. On a positive side, the flat was well decorated and the kitchen was well equipped. The views from the lounge were lovely.

There was a generous welcome pack of groceries which was much appreciated. The property was very clean and tastefully furnished and was in a fantastic location with a beautiful view of the Wye river. The only downside was probalby due to the initial conversion of the space which meant there was no door from the bedroom to the bathroom/WC - not great at night time as the light and fan would wake up the other person in the bedroom. There was also no microwave or washing machine. There was a huge amount of unused space in the front room so it was surprising that the sofa was so small as there was certainly room for a bigger one.

The location was great, very convenient for our purposes. Inside it was spotless and comfortable and had everything we wanted. All the facilities were modern and looked new. The living room and kitchen areas were comfortable, bright and airy with a fantastic view of the river and surroundings from the huge windows. The bedroom was compact but with very high ceilings so didn't feel closed in. The bed was comfortable and there was lots of storage. The shower room was lovely and the water pressure was great. The welcome pack was excellent and I didn't have to use any of the supplies I brought as milk, tea, coffee, sugar, salt & pepper were also supplied together with washing up liquid, hand soap, kitchen roll, j-cloth, tea towels, oven gloves etc. The owners had thought of everything that we may need especially the cafetière and ground coffee. • "We specifically asked about parking when booking and were told we would be given a parking permit."

When contacting the owner prior to departure we asked her about the parking and she confirmed that we would have no problem in getting a space and said that she was looking out from her balcony as we spoke and there were plenty of spaces. In fact there were no designated spaces for permit holders and it was a free for all with other motorists who could park for up to 4 hours free of charge so the only advantage was being able to park for longer than this if a space became available. Not ideal for the user of a disability scooter. Having viewed the online pictures of the accommodation, it appears they are out of date. The bedroom was of suitable size for a single bed only and the double one in situ (not the one shown in the pictures) only left room to shuffle sideways down the side and no bedside cabinets for glasses, clock or morning cuppa. The bedlinen was a lumpy duvet and firm cushions rather than pillows encased in a very rough fabric. The main problem with the bedroom area was no bathroom as stated in the blurb, but an open plan shower, basin and toilet in an alcove in the bedrooom, hardly hygienic and with no privacy whatsoever. It was lacking in a toilet roll holder, loo brush or a nonslip mat for the shower which also lacked anywhere to put toiletries whilst using it, hooks for clothes or a seat to sit on. The heating, over which we had no control was not working properly and registered only 15° When we queried this with the owner she responded that no-one else had complained - a backup fan heater wouldn't go amiss. The pictures also showed a very comfortable looking armchair but this had been replaced by a small shabby 2seater settee not big enough for 2 people to sit side by side. The kitchen was adequate, but lacked a handle for the grill pan, a pair of kitchen scissors and a butter knife. You try spreading butter with a serrated knife! The kitchen roll holder had not been replenished and there were no spares to be found. The best bit was the view from the bay window but there is only so much time you can spend admiring the view! We can only assume that this property had not been inspected by you and as we left on Tuesday, being unable to cope with it's limitations, we suggest a partial refund is due. There is an absence of noise from local traffic. The view from the lounge/ dining area is an outstandingly panoramic and peaceful. The view encapsulates a distance of several miles taking in the approach to the winding river Wye and beyond. The view faces West and a good day will take in the sunset. Well situated for us as we used this as a base to visit respective family members in Worcestershire and Brecon. Places such as Hereford are easily accessed. The accommodation was fine. There are a good number of local shops and cafe's and eating houses. Although there are parking time restrictions, these were overcome by the owner's providing a permit for our use during the 7 day's that we stayed. I have no reservations in recommendation.
