"We had an enjoyable, comfortable stay."
The xmas tree and garland was very thoughtful and appreciated.
Had to go out to buy batteries for the TV remote before we could use it. 'Spare' batteries were all dead ones. A non slip bath mat in the shower would be a reassurance for us older ones.
When booking it stated 'Complimentry Banbury Cakes on arrival as they were first made in Burford Bakery'. There was no sign of these.
Would deffinetly come again.

"Excellent cottage in an ideal location, easy parking two mins away, very clean and had a Christmas tree with lights and decorations."
There was nothing to dislike about our stay as the accommodation had everything you could possibly need. It was very quiet at night with no noise from nearby pubs and blackout blinds made sure it was dark for sleeping. The overall feel of the place was very cosy and welcoming, there was also a small garden at the back with table and chairs so great for the summer months,I’d definitely recommend staying here and would love to return in the future.
Many thanks we had the most wonderful stay in your lovely cottage.

"The cottage was great and really close to all the pubs and restaurants in Burford."
The only downside was how cold it was. Unfortunately we did pick one of the coldest weekends of the year (stupid time to have a birthday)
We arrived and the cottage was freezing, the heating was on but so low that it took ages to warm up. Unfortunately the bathroom never warmed up even though we turned the towel rail up. We noticed that the window didn’t seem to close properly and there was a terrible draught. It was a shame because other than that it was perfect. Would like to come back perhaps when it is warmer.

"Cosy and comfortable property, very well located just off the main road in Burford."
Very well equipped. Might be a bit crowded with 4 adults, but OK if two of them are children. I was on my own so it was perfect.
Parking is on-street but was no problem to find a space within a few hundred yards.
Many thanks for your feedback! Property Owner

"On arrival we discovered that the kitchen tap had sheared off and was unusable."
I discovered this when turning the tap on and water poured out of the base! In subsequent phone calls we discovered that this was known about before our arrival but no-one thought to inform us. The tap was fixed the next morning but not before we had to wash up from dinner the previous night in the bath, not the best start to a holiday.
Considering the late check-in time for additional cleaning we hadn't expected to find crisp crumbs down the back of the sofa.
Ignoring the tap issue the cottage itself was lovely, it had all the necessary facilities with a well maintained garden and in a perfect location.
Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear of the issues that you encountered during your stay and hope that it did not effect your retreat too much. We would love to welcome you back to Burford's Old Bakery anytime in the future. Property Owner

"As a family we only had three areas of feedback:-
My elderly dad would have liked a shaving point in the bathroom
Again, elderly dad would have benefitted from grab rails in the bath
I would have liked a little washing line in the garden
Other than that the cottage was perfect."
Spotlessly clean, comfortable, full of character and very well appointed for a quick stroll to any one of the local pubs, coffee shops etc
Cannot wait to go back!
Thank you so much for your feedback, we appreciate a few things would have enhanced your stay and have passed these on to the owner. Property Owner

"The cottage was very pleasant to stay in and in an excellent location."
Two negatives
- you should replace the mattress on the double bed - very uncomfortable
- we were told about the scaffolding after we had booked. The scaffolding blocked light and took away from what would have been a pleasant view. There was no work on the roof for the week we were there!
Many thanks for your feedback. Apologies for not making you aware of the scaffolding beforehand, and hope this did not hamper your stay too much. Manor Cottages Property Owner

"Nice touch to find, tea bags, milk and the cakes ."
Nice accommodation although I would think cramped for 4 people, luckily there were only 2 of us. It’s in a great position to go and explore Burford and the rest of the Cotswolds.
I would have liked an egg slice and an ice cube tray, but everything else I needed was there.

"First of all we are still here-our booking is for a week."
The extra 4 days was added later but you seem unable to realise the obvious that all my details were the same.I did send an email to that effect !!
The kitchen is extremely poorly equipped for four people.Only 3 small plates, a random selection of mugs and glasses no 4 the same, NO teapot,no spares of any crockery so you are constantly washing up when trying to cook, a couple of saucepans that look like they have come from a car boot sale,a cafetiere barely big enough for 1 let alone 4, NO dishwasher, no kitchen cloth or washing up brush.......and a charge of £1000!!!!
We apologise for the lack if items at the property, these have been ordered and put in the property on 14th August 2020. There is no dishwasher at the property and is not advertising as having one. We wish you would have contacted us whilst in the property, as we would have aimed to rectify for you. Many Thanks Manor Cottages. Property Owner

"Why are beds in cottages so hard?"
They were particularly hard in this cottage and it is not alone, in our experience.
We are sorry to hear that you thought the beds were hard, this is very much a personal preference. New mattress protectors have been brought for the property. Manor Cottages. Property Owner

"The cottage is excellent in all respects apart from the mattresses."
. very hard , thus making sleep very poor. Stayed here a couple of years ago and it was the same then so brought quilts this time to put under us but it did not work . Shame, as the rest of the cottage is great.... Please invest in better mattresses.. One small other point, there was no teapot!!
Thank you for your comments. We are very sorry the mattress wasn't comfortable, the owners have now invested in a new, very comfortable mattress topper and a new teapot! Property Owner

"Great location and was well kitted out for coming with a dog (we didn't bring) and a baby (we did bring)."
We came in late November so it was very cold, the downfall for us was that the flat was absolutely freezing and took literally hours to warm up, which was not so fun with a little one - I feel like they should have offered to turn it on prior to our arrival. Other than that it was great

It was very cramped for 4 people, the kitchen was very under equipped, the bathroom was very dirty and the boiler was so loud and frankly, sounded like it needed repair.

"Very nice property."
Clean and well equipped.
Parking we found very hard on the road, but trip to the nr by car park was ok.
We did not bring are dogs with us on this occasion, but we would have been extremely upset to read in the guest information book that our dogs would have had to have stayed down stairs in the Hall.
Really put me off, booking with you again, we have never let the dogs upstairs or in the bedrooms on any property, but they are part of the family and the Border collies would not have wanted to be stuck down stairs .
Otherwise nice cottage.
Thank you for your comments, regarding the Dogs the information is incorrect on this occasion due to the entrance hall being on the ground floor. Dogs are allowed upstairs however not on soft furnishings or in the bedrooms. Property Owner

"The Burford Bakery is a real winner!"
It is very comfortable and we enjoyed our stay there. The only minor criticism is that every time you flush the toilet, there is s horrible noise in the place that lasts for a while. I assume it cannot be overcome due to the age of the place and the pipes. Otherwise, a great place to stay in the Cotswolds.

"The decor/ facilities were of a high quality such as the kitchen and bathroom."
But some basic things missing like a wardrobe when there is space enough for one as a couple of hangers on hooks just isn’t enough. There was no mirror in the bedroom, the bed was tiny as were the towels provided and the sofa whereas a huge coffee table took up a lot of needed space. The bathroom was absolutely freezing and despite a heater only got warm after someone had a shower. We took our dog as it was supposed to be dog friendly but when we got there the booklet said that he was supposed to be kept downstairs. Downstairs was a corridor with no heating and flagstone floors while the accommodation is upstairs. This was not mentioned on the listing and as it was January the corridor was like a freezer and really not a nice first impression when you walk in. The location just off The Hill was prefectly central but you are also within spitting distance from four pubs so expect early morning deliveries daily and large delivery vans parking right outside your front door.
