The location, parking and presentation was exactly as described. Everything we needed was there, the cottage was clean and comfortable. The hosts were helpful - (much appreciated when travelling with my elderly mother) but they respected our privacy too.

  • "The cottage was infested with wasps, I swatted approx."

70 wasps inside the cottage and left a day early, the owner tried to get rid of them by calling the pest controller, he did his best, I wrote to Sykes to ask for a days compensation but received no reply, I will obviously think twice before using them again. Mr M Clough.

A lovely welcome by the owners with a homemade cake and other goodies in the fridge. The south end of the Malvern hills are an easy walk to and the local pub 10 minutes walk away was very friendly and had excellent food and beer. We had a great holiday at this cottage.

  • "I had booked this cottage primarily as a base to visit family in the area for a few days, with overnight stays in private homes not allowed."

So I had really just thought of it as a place to ‘lay my head’. I have to say though that the cottage itself really added to the experience! It is an idyllic setting, and the perfect holiday home. The cottage was scrupulously clean, very luxurious and full of thoughtful little touches. It was also the most well equipped kitchen I’ve found in a holiday cottage! We always book Sykes because we find the cottages to be of a generally good standard, but this one was a cut above!

The owners of Rickyard Cottage live across the garden & they could not of made us more welcome. Milk & Wine were left in the fridge. As it was my birthday I asked for a recommendation for some where good to eat & they were happy to advise us. I would not hesitate to go back & would certainly recommend the accommodation to mt friends. The area is picturesque & is a walkers paradise. • "The cottage was superb."

It was situated in a lovely part of the country in a beautiful setting. We were met by one of the owners and received a welcome pack of a bottle of wine, bottle of apple juice and a wonderful cake. The nearby pub, The Robin Hood provided tasty home cooked food and and was made even more pleasant by the friendly the landlord and staff. The area is just at the foot of the Malvern Hills where you can enjoy lots of walks with fantastic views. The villages of Upton - upon Severn and Ledbury are close by and both are worth a visit, Upton offering a number of cruises and Ledbury with a number of free visitor attractions including a very interesting butcher's shop which has been moved on a number of occasions and now houses an interesting collection of curiosities. We were also able to visit a number of houses and gardens which were between 20 minutes to 60 minutes drive away, some of them being National Trust. Altogether, we enjoyed a very memorable holiday.

  • "Nice clean and tidy barn conversion."

Comfortable beds, chairs and loads of towels. The property does not have a washing machine ( it is not advertised as having one ) but the owner was very helpful and said if required they would put our clothes in their machine at their house and wash them for us. The place is without a dishwasher as well, ( which was not a problem for the two of us ) but maybe a family of four who have most of their meals at the cottage might find it useful, might also use less water ? Conservatory looks out over an enclosed garden which had flowering roses, lavender and foxgloves near the house. A path from decking area leads down to your own driveway, access from road via large gate, and at the bottom of garden is a lawn area. The property has most things you need apart from washing machine and dishwasher which we thought would be very useful.
